Greatest album by a female solo artist

So which album by a female singer would you say was the most influential? Mine is Hounds by Kate.

I love Lauryn Hill’s album.

Alanis Morissette and Liz Phair???? No Peggy Lee? Judy Garland? Nina Simone? Janis Joplin? Grace Jones?

Leona Naess's Comatised. Whole album is great, only not big on maybe 2 songs.

Though Beautiful was very much carried by the songs from Tapestry the eponymously named musical from Jagged Little Pill will do much to carry it forward. It’s opened it up to a whole new generation of young people who are obsessively seeing it like Rent and Hamilton, garnering attention for the music from a whole other artistic sphere. With limited competition it stands the chance to do well at the Tonys despite the controversies. Celia Gooding and Antonio Cipriano have the potential to be huge break out stars.

This is way too broad of a category (bad pun). As an 80s/90s alt-rock eldergay, my picks include Rid of Me by PJ Harvey, The Lion and the Cobra by Sinead O'Connor and Exile in Guyville by Liz Phair. Special recognition to Nunsexmonkrock by Nina Hagen. But I appreciate artistry across all genres (oops, this DL..."jandras"), so it is impossible to name a single best .

Out of OP's choices, Lindsay Lohan. But I admit it's nowhere near the greatest album.
