Ive noticed OP is a fucking moron.

Omgg! You’re an idiot OP! Sorry, that’s mean. But seriously, look up those spellings and their origins. You’ll be surprised.

R2 I’m not trying to be mean I’m just making an observation. I was reading an article night tonight. I’m trying to find articles on why Jews drop the K. There’s nothing out there. I’ve counted about 20 Jewish actors now that are named marc not mark.

Why is it Nic Cage and not Nick Cage? Why is it Zac Efron and not Zach Efron? Why is it Zack Morris and not Zach Morris?

"I never needed a K or a third A."
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 26, 2021 3:44 AM |
I didn't know this OP. The reason is because Mark and Zack are such popular names that even white trash has these names.
I wasn't raised religious. My parents only took me to church for one year. long enough for me to receive communion. I'm like half the country, I have no idea what is in the bible

Is that your new interest, OP? Tracking Jews and taking an interest in how they spell their names?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 26, 2021 3:47 AM |
Datalounge is obsessed with Jews. Sadly the Jew threads are never deleted or grayed out because the webmaster loves all this anti-Semitism.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 26, 2021 3:51 AM |
OP's one of the many DL Jew-obsessed psychos sneaking back after being red-tagged, aren't ya OP.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 26, 2021 3:52 AM |
You guys are being ridiculous. This has nothing to do with anti-Semitism or hating Jews. I was reading an article after watching a show on Netflix I made a simple observation. Once you fall down the rabbit hole on the Internet you start noticing patterns.

OP, Marc is Marcus shortened.
What is Mark shortened from?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 26, 2021 4:06 AM |
I'm a quarter Jewish and am not offended. Interesting topic.

I bet you support Palestine too 😉^.

[quote] What is Mark shortened from?
Markus
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 26, 2021 4:15 AM |
It's the same reason they spell G_d instead of God.
Whatever.

[quote]This has nothing to do with anti-Semitism or hating Jews.
But you've never had such focused interest in the spelling of names of Blacks or Muslims or East Asians.

Barbara Thorndyke would love Datalounge.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 26, 2021 4:24 AM |
OP Like Allen is Jewish but Alan is not.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 26, 2021 8:56 AM |
Marc is French, dumbass.

Weren’t 19th century German Jews forced to adopt surnames that had special spellings to mark them as Jews? I thought I read that somewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 26, 2021 12:00 PM |
R20 Jews throughout history were discriminated against by being forced to wear distinctive clothing and to have surnames/family names to differentiate them from the Xtians. Those surnames were derisive and denigrating, mocking the Jews, i.e. Erlich, Rotboim, Goldstein, Goldwasser, etc. Spelling was irrelevant.

Most people named Zachary shorten the name to "Zach," not "Zack," and hardly ever "Zac." It has nothing to do with religion.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 26, 2021 1:33 PM |
Never noticed, OP. I always thought “Marc” was French-ish. Someone pointed out it was derived from “Marcus”. The only people named “Marcus” I know are black.
I like pondering how old Jewish men have names that are essentially/originally Anglo surnames: Milton, Seymour, Isidore, Irving, Montgomery, Burton, Sidney.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 26, 2021 2:12 PM |
^^ Actually, I know a German Markus. And a Jewish family whose last name is Marcus.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 26, 2021 2:13 PM |
Barbra for Barbara, Sara for Sarah, Bette for Betty. That’s for they horsey set.
