But where am I going to see a celebrity being cruel to ordinary people all in the name of fun?

They waited as long as they could. A show like this was actually a great moneymaker. Ratings were good. It's a pretty great game show, it really exercises the budget capacity of its prime time slot (unlike most other ones, which just spend a lot more on set design and then do the same game you could do on a smaller, cheaper set)
Surprised they didn't work to re-cast the host....Ellen could have also stepped away after some pre-production, saying its an edgy dark show and she didn't think she could be funny on it anymore. (or some totally honest version of "I didn't care if I looked mean before and now I'm in my own head about it, so let someone else have a try"

She's 63 so she'll retire. You people think celebs want to work until they drop dead.

Drop Dead? Now there's an idea for Ellen's retirement.

"Ellen's Next Great Designer" just ended. It probably won't be renewed. How will Scott Foley find an even lower profile hosting gig?

I hope she doesn’t take it out on Portia.
