I think it’s Music of the Heart.
Meryl Streep’s most overrated performance

Who rates her turn in AUGUST OSAGE COUNTY highly?
She was widely regarded to be freaking terrible in that one.
There are a number of others I might have included instead: OUT OF AFRICA or (gasp) KRAMER VS KRAMER, OP.

R2: Is that you G?

One can loathe Trump and occasionally find Meryl overrated.

Devil Wears Prada for me. She has one great scene where she seems stripped down and no make up where she has a real moment. I found the rest of the performance over the top and inauthentic. It was consciously grandiose in cuntitude. Click click click.

No, not G. just someone with good vision & very spoiled.
Seeing real beauty on the Big screen Garbo, Dietrich, Hepburn, Bergman, Hayworth, Lamar.
When you see fug, its fug..& yes Glenn Close is fug also. With all the technology available yo make them look good & they are still fug..that says Loads

Looks like The Iron Lady is her most overrated performance.

Really? She seemed so warm, generous and loving to me.

All of them

Everything about The Iron Lady win was horrible. Weinstein was behind it, the film was terrible and nobody saw it, the performance was hammy, and the characterization was all wrong from the accent to the personality.

Out of Africa.
Patty Duke should've played Violet in August: Osage County but of course Meryl has to hoover up every good role for actresses over 60.

Her win for The Iron Lady is a joke. Her nominations for Julie & Julia and Into The Woods are ridiculous

Music of the Heart and One True Thing were pretty saccharine and shameless awards bait, but Oscar nominations aside I don't think many critics were raving about her performances so it's hard to call them overrated. I'd vote for the French Lieutenant's Woman (tedious) or Postcards from the Edge (not convincing as an addict), personally. I wish Cherry Jones had been able to star in the film version of Doubt.

Nobody rates her crappy Disney films.

I think she's great in THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, but I hate how much gay men overrate that film, and especially the turquoise belt speech, which they treat as if that's just the absolute and unanswerable last word on why fashion matters (when of course it is not).
I also really like her in THE IRON LADY, because she's excellent at showing the signs of dementia. I was also surprised by how gracious her Thatcher was in the present day to her daughter and to others.
I voted for AUGUST, OSAGE COUNTY because that's such a big hambone performance (which is rare for her). The director showed no restraint, and neither does Streep.
Overall, I always think she's usually quite excellent, though.

Lemony Snickets was a Nickelodeon film, R15.

Except for The Devil Wears Prada, The Post, A Cry in the Dark, Hope Springs, Doubt, Postcards from the Edge and Adaptation, all of her performances are overrated!

Her character in [italic]Kramer vs. Kramer[/italic] was the closest to how she is for real.

She knew about Harvey Weinstein. So did Rob Marshall if he would rather have worked for him than the two gay guys who gave him a film career in the first place.

“The Glenn Close Tragedy”. She shouldn’t have ever taken the role but she got her 4th Oscar, so....

I never quite got the love for POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE. Shirley M is fun (in small doses). But Meryl is entirely too old, too drab, and frankly, not funny enough to play that character. There has to be a reason why this car wreck character still finds employment and available men (a young Dennis Quaid, for god's sake) even when her life is falling apart.

Kathleen Turner should've done Postcards.
