New TV show 'REBEL' cancelled!
I cannot believe the most talked about show of the season, 'Rebel' has been cancelled along with several others.
The cancellation came after a month of episodes, meaning execs had time to look at 30-day DVR and streaming returns for the pilot and little else.
Katey, they got it out for you gurl.

That's a shame. I like the show. It feels old fashioned, but I am invested in the story. I hate TV networks. This is literally one of the last three series I've watched on network TV in the past five years, and I've already tired of one of them. The other, The Conners, is kind of meh, but it's comfort food television.

Don't say there's already a thread unless you're going to link to it!

Nobody really cares about Katey Sagal and a show about a ball busting woman probably didn’t appeal to a lot of people. I am surprised though that this got cancelled and Law and Order: Organized Crime didn’t. OC’s ratings are way lower and it’s your typical mediocre procedural show but infused with wokeness. Meloni just can’t carry a show.

I adore Andy Garcia, but after Episode 1, I abandoned this mess!

Poor Kyra Sedgwick tried to blame the sporadic rollout for her show’s cancellation but her show was just an unwatchable mess.

ABC hyped the shit of this show. The first trailers started airing two months before the pilot episode. The network put it on the air the same night as Station 19 and Grey’s. So it wasn’t from a lack of trying.

But they still didn't give it a chance to catch on.
It's been available on Hulu, too. They should have just branded it as a Hulu crossover show. Maybe it would have made it seem less archaic to some younger viewers. Hulu has The Handmaid's Tale, The Great, Mrs. America. They have lots of "strong women" content. It kind of fits right in except it lacks cursing and violence.

Katey went on Instagram to bitch about the cancellation. She basically said the same thing that they didn’t give a chance to catch on. She said that perhaps another network or streaming platform could pick it up. I think a major problem with the show was that there were just too many characters. The husband, the ex husband, Andy García, etc.
