There are a few popular products on the market, but I don't want to shill for them here. But if you've used something that works please name it.
Have you used any product to successfully remove skin tags?

Fingernail clippers and some alcohol.

I had one under my eye. The dermatologist removed it. No scar. I also had one above my groin. I cut it off with scissors.

Apparently, iodine works. That is what "Skin Away" is made out of, if I'm not mistaken.

I would consider seeing a dermatologist. Where do you live, the US?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 25, 2021 8:10 AM |
Wart remover with the tiny nail brush. You’re not supposed to use it near your eyes, but that’s where mine show up. And, if my parents are a predictor, I’ll look like a toad by 85.

I get them under my arms, I likely wouldn't try this anywhere visible, but for my pit tags, I get a bit drunk, wash my hands (sure), rip/twist/pluck it off by my stubby fingernails, put on some rubbing alcohol (the pain is part of the process, I tell my self) a dab of Neosporin, and if I'm feeling fancy, top it off with a bandaid.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 25, 2021 8:35 AM |
Would that work with a neck wart? Hubby has one on his neck. I have read that Apple Cider mixed with water, soak cotton ball, place it on the neck and apply bandaid. But I like the dental floss idea.

I've seen the thread method of tying it off. Plenty of youtube videos on this subject.

Thoughts and prayer works for most everything!

This CVS product has been successful for me. They are little swabs you put into an aerosol canister that turns them Pluto-cold. Then you press it on whatever wart, tag, fleshy bump, etc. for 15 seconds. In a day or two the now-dead bump turns black and soon falls off.
This is the same thing Dermatology clinics charge you hundreds of dollars for.

There are three non-chemical ways to remove them that are relatively straightforward.
1. Tea Tree oil - they say to dilute it with a carrier oil, but it probably depends on your sensitivity. I've been fine using it directly.
2. Castor oil and baking soda made into a poulitce - rub on, then put a bandaid over it.
3. Apple Cider vinegar - this takes the longest, but is probably the least complicated.

Skin tags are a sign of insulin resistance, cut the sugar and starches and they will disappear. You are at risk for diabetes, that will also be reduced. Weight or resistance training can also help. Consider it a warning sign OP.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 25, 2021 3:26 PM |
Link for R15, also see book Why We Get Sick by Dr. Ben Bikman.
Metabolic syndrome used to be called insulin resistance syndrome, time to cut sugars and starches OP, a daily walk would also not be amiss. Act now to head off serious health issues.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 25, 2021 3:33 PM |
Tie them or twist them daily and they fall off in about a week.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 25, 2021 3:41 PM |
R16. That's BS.

[quote]Did you know that skin tags may be an early sign of insulin resistance?
"May" is doing an awful lot of work there.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 25, 2021 3:57 PM |
Cling to your sugars and starches, R19, wise people take steps to reverse insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome before it reaches the point of serious health conditions.

Kill yourself and the skin tags go away--at least your awareness of them

Honey, I ain't over weight and I have a few skin tags. Thin guys get them as well. Especially as we get older.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 25, 2021 4:06 PM |
Thin guys get diabetes, too, R24. Insulin resistance increases with age, so changes need to be made to offset it. When it reaches a certain point it becomes prediabetes. You do you.

Keep trashing the Skin Tag People!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 25, 2021 4:21 PM |
Skin tags can be a heads up re: health. Facts are not trashing anyone and might enable you to improve your health. Stop being so childish.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 25, 2021 4:27 PM |
"Can be." "May be." Absolutely -- but not everyone with a skin tag is diabetic or in poor health. Sometimes they're indicative of nothing.

It's not BS I had a few on my neck and I stopped all sugar and I realized they had shrunk, almost gone. I say sugar is involved.

They are linked to insulin resistance which if it progresses can lead to diabetes and other poor outcomes such as heart disease, some cancers, mood disorders and Alzheimers. Insulin resistance increases with age, thus skin tags become more common but diabetes, even in those of normal weight increases with age too. And diabetes before 60 increases the chances of dementia significantly. It is a spectrum. If sugars and starches are reduces and general activity is increased (weight or resistance training is very helpful re: IR, new muscle is insulin sensitive) then skin tags disappear. Better to know and make informed choices re: health risks. Even some diet changes and a 30 min walk each day can really reduce health risks.

A scientist reveals the groundbreaking evidence linking many major diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease, to a common root cause—insulin resistance—and shares an easy, effective plan to reverse and prevent it.
Bikman has loads of podcasts and YT vids where he speaks about insulin resistance. It is a driver of many serious health problems, skin symptoms of it are an early sign to make some diet and lifestyle tweaks to avoid more serious risks.

What a LOON.
According to the source, 'Meghan is also a big advocate of tapping therapy and said she started tapping regularly after watching the documentary Heal. '
The tapping technique, or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is used to relieve anxiety and emotional pain by tapping on pressure points.
'[Meghan]is convinced that tapping has helped both her and Harry release negative patterns imprinted on their DNA from past generations - generations going all the way back to even the darkest of times including slavery, war, you name it,' the source said.

'Meghan also does Reiki on herself, and even on Archie and her dogs to help them feel more balanced and relaxed.'
Grifter trash human causing much pain to people who loved her or Harry, but that is ignored or ramped up in favor of a focus on self angrandizement and woo woo. SO irresponsible to talk about suicide so recklessly as though concrete plans are not a medical emergency. NO provision of even a hotline number. I hope they and Oprah are sued.

oops, wrong thread
tapping prob won't help your skin tags and suicide seems a bit extreme

just cut them off

Skin tags are an early indicator of insulin resistance and a sign you are at risk for future diabetes. Changing diet and activity will reverse IR, reduce the risk of diabetes and your skin tags will disappear. Treating them as merely cosmetic does not address the health risks of IR which is connected to diabetes, mood issues, NAFLD, heart disease, some cancers and Alzheimer's. Diabetes by 60 greatly increases your risks of dementia and normal weight people can become diabetic. Head the signs, change your diet and get active. Your skin tags disappearing will be a sign of progress toward better metabolic health. Metabolic syndrome used to be called insulin resistance syndrome and it is no joke. Check out Why We Get Sick or podcasts by Dr. Ben Bikman for more info on IR and what to do about it.

I just clipped a few small tags off with a cuticle remover. Easy peasy, just a little blood.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 1, 2021 3:08 PM |
r39 yep - does not hurt much and a lil hydrogen peroxide makes sure it does not get infected. That is all a dermatologist does, they just freeze them first.

My cockatiel once thought my father’s skin tag was a piece of millet and quickly proceeded to bite it right off! Worked like a charm. Very nice, clean cut.

I have a bump the size of a pinhead about an inch under my eye. It's not long enough to cut, but I want it to deflate. I want it to go away ASAP.
