It is so funny to me that they are dressed down in their cut-offs and hoodies but also can’t appear in public without blown out hair and a face full of makeup.

Aren't Southern belles meant to be beautiful, sophisiticated and graceful? Because with a couple of exceptions, these girls look rather plain and chavvy. They wouldn't be out of place in a council estate somewhere in Birmingham or Manchester, especially with those hideous accents and all that makeup.

I guess I'm out of date, my 'southern belle' niece in GA - same age as these girls - is headed for Wesleyan in the fall. That was what we thought was a 'good school' twenty-five years ago.

Ole Miss is a good school. GA Southern is not.

UNC Chapel Hill and Ole Miss are now outstanding choices. Georgia College is the state's public liberal arts college, as well.

FL University used to be a party school too but is a good one now too.

Can someone explain to me how a former "party school" that was not considered academically challenging several years ago, is today now a "good school"? Did they raise their academic standards to a higher level, or recruit better faculty?

Or are you confusing elevated academic standards with a more difficult acceptance rate, simply due to changing demographics and tastes.
