I can’t even drink Kombucha anymore without having awful stomach pain

I used to drink Kombucha all the time, but now when I drink it my stomach hurts so bad. A couple weeks ago I drank a bottle, and my stomach was hurting terribly for days and it was hard for me to even move it was that bad (I know it was the cause because my stomach was fine before drinking it). I thought I would be fine with Kombucha because it has lots of probiotics and benefits to the body.

I don’t know why but my body is much more sensitive to foods now. Maybe I just didn’t notice the negative affects before. But I even stopped drinking coffee because it was irritating my stomach. I used to drink coffee everyday. I also learned I have a gluten sensitivity when I visited a neurologist (he tested my blood for everything and told me it signaled this, plus low vitamin D and low testosterone) a few years back. So no more bread and pasta for me, pasta (especially baked ziti) was my FAVE! I also had to cut out sugary shit. No more Starbucks Frappuccinos and McDonald’s Oreo McFlurries (my FAVES) for me. And the only meat I will eat now is chicken! Also cut out dairy for the most part. I can still eat Greek yogurt tho

It caused my liver enzymes to go through the roof. Stopped drinking it.

Maybe it's the specific brand, flavor or type of kombucha that you're drinking, that doesn't agree with you any more.

I can't drink coffee/espresso either. It makes my hands and arms convulse. It's hard to believe that some people think that shit is good for you.

Google histamine intolerance. I made a kefir for awhile but had foggy brain reactions after every glass. Could not figure out why I was experiencing all the great purported benefits from kefir and probiotics. Found a needle in a haystack post on Google that described my experience and person name checked histamine intolerance.

... Why I was NOT experiencing the benefits...

Are you also feeling tender to the touch and sensing bugs crawling under your skin, Mary OP?

by Anonymousreply 5May 22, 2021 4:58 PM

Are you taking Prep? Prep really fucks with my stomach and had to ditch coffee, etc.

I would take a good probiotic. A lot the body's problems have to due gut health and inflammation. Try alkalizing with a probiotic, a huge dose of daily greens (smoothie), and hydrate. Also, try an algae like Chlorella or Spiralena, which is the world's most perfect superfood. Just make sure it is sourced is the US and not in Asia. It's amazing what these basic tweaks have done. The brain fog is gone, skin is clear, hair is thicker, and those little red bumps that some people get on their arms (keristosis) just all disappeared.

Stop drinking it.

[quote] Try alkalizing with a probiotic

Probiotic drinks can be expensive so I make my own alkalizing drink and have it first thing in the morning.

I make a half gallon of lemon, ginger, turmeric tonic each week and store it in the fridge: Slice two lemons, dice two inches of fresh ginger and combine with a half teaspoon of turmeric in a 3-qt pot. Fill the pot close to the top with water and cover with the lid. Bring to a boil and simmer on low until the lemons are transparent. Let it cool and then strain. Some people like to add honey but I don't feel the need. Store in a large ball jar in the fridge.

I have about a cup of tonic with tea each morning. You can also add it to cold drinks like flavored carbonated waters. Since I've been doing this, I have no more digestive issues and I feel more clear-headed and energetic. It's also a good anti-inflammatory.

OP, you need to fix your headline to "I can't even drink cum, bitches, without having awful stomach pains."

You would get a lot more replies.

I bought one of those things at the market once just to see what all the hype was about. Paid $4+ for one bottle. Worst tasting bevvy I've ever had. Tasted like Kerosene.

I discovered after several years, that probiotics were part of the problem for me not the solution. So I stopped. Now I take Metamucil there or four times a week, and drink a lot of water, eat more fiber, and exercise. Move around. Even 30-40 minutes of exercise, walking four or 5 times a week will make all the difference. Oh. Figure out what you can eat. Because for me, I can't eat ice berg lettuce or cabbage. No corn. But broccoli and a few brussel sprouts are fine. So is zucchini. I can eat mixed greens and Romaine no radishes, but most everything else. No raw carrots or celery. OP, Brown rice not white. Never eat plain old white bread. Whole grain, multi grain. Avoid sweets and alcohol. Wine is good now and then. No red meat. Avoid fatty greasy foods and fried. No processed foods. Follow a regimen like that for a month or two and you will feel better. As for fresh fruit, I cannot eat peaches, no fresh pineapple, but I can eat nectarines, blueberries ,strawberries, raspberries. No watermelon, but yes to cantaloupe. About three inches of a banana if it isn't very ripe. The only apple I can eat is a Granny Smith. In short I have to avoid fruits with a lot of sugar even if it's natural sugar. I can eat 0% fat yogurt, but no ice cream. I can have low fat milk as long as I don't have more than 1/2 cup, and I avoid caffeine and soda.

Once you get into the diet exercise and water routine, you should also go to the doctor to make sure you don't have problems with your Colon or your pancreas.

R1. Who are you—Zombie Carol Channing?

by Anonymousreply 12May 22, 2021 9:59 PM

Every time I’ve tried it, it tasted like wine mixed with beer and my body knew it didn’t have the necessary alcohol content to be worthwhile.

by Anonymousreply 13May 22, 2021 10:06 PM

Can you have distilled water, R11, or is that off limits as well?

by Anonymousreply 14May 23, 2021 7:40 AM

Check for bowel cancer, seriously.

by Anonymousreply 15May 23, 2021 7:54 AM

Welcome to mid-to-older age, OP. You'll find that you can't tolerate so many things that you ate when you were younger. I stick to chicken or fish these days, with lots of vegetables and fruits. The days when I could eat almost a whole pizza are gone. I can barely finish one piece now. Same with beef and lamb. I have to be careful of milk, chesses, pasta and breads.

Oh, I'm missing out on such wonderful foods! I do cheat once in awhile, when I'm at a great restaurant, but I know I'll suffer for it later. It's worth it, though.

by Anonymousreply 16May 23, 2021 7:56 AM

R16 when you say you can’t tolerate certain foods do you mean it gives you stomach cramps? What other things signal you can’t tolerate it?

by Anonymousreply 17September 15, 2021 6:26 PM

Did you experience these symptoms BEFORE you were COVID VACCINATED?

by Anonymousreply 18September 15, 2021 6:30 PM

You've got an ulcer.
