Is College Hunks Hauling Junk any good? No matter how hot they are, I don't want to use them if they're not going to handle my belongings with care.

La Rosa del Monte is an excellent moving company, soup to nuts packing and shipping. Their movers are excellent and hawt! Their office staff is a bit sub-par, but it’s a hurdle I was willing to endure because of the quality of the move. I’m sure they have offices in Florida (big Hispanic market) .

Junk Hunk would be a better name

I did that when moving from Philadelphia to Houston. But I hired one of the big name moving companies and insured the shit out of everything. There were some big issues when the property was delivered. I eventually settled the insurance claim for just under $10K. This was in 1982, so things certainly might have changed.

Don't go cheap! Good dependable moving services are expensive. Not only should they pack and handle everything with care, but they should be taking a detailed and itemized list of everything they're packing. So if there are 50 items that are being packed and moved, and 2 of those items are bookshelves, the list will account for that in detail.

They should also keep you apprised during every phase of delivery to the destination by providing ETA info and driver contact phone numbers.

It costs a pretty penny but it's worth it. I've heard from friends who had their shit held hostage or had an overall crappy experience. Not worth the stress when moving.

I would never do it unless i didnt care about the stuff and had a fortune to spend on it, because its way too expensive. People never pack your stuff how you would. I would pick a few things i wanted and leave the rest and include it in the sale.
