John Shearer/Getty Images Lady Gaga spoke in the Apple TV+ series "The Me You Can't See" about being raped at 19 years old.

She said the man who raped her kept her "locked away" in a studio for months and impregnated her.

Gaga said he dropped her off on a corner by her parents' home when she was pregnant and "vomiting."

Lady Gaga said she was impregnated by a music producer who raped her when she was 19 years old.

Scroll to continue with contentAd Lendio The "Rain On Me" singer, now 35, detailed the abuse in Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey's Apple TV+ docuseries, "The Me You Can't See," released Thursday.

After Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, went to a hospital to seek treatment for physical pain years after being raped, she said, the recurring sensation of intense pain turning into numbness felt familiar.

"I realized that it was the same pain that I felt when the person who raped me dropped me off pregnant on a corner by my parents' house because I was vomiting and sick 'cause I'd been being abused," she said, adding: "I was locked away in a studio for months."

Gaga, who also said the producer threatened to "burn" her music if she didn't take off her clothes, said she didn't plan on publicly identifying him. "I do not ever want to face that person again," she said.

Gaga recalled having a "total psychotic break" after she was raped. "For a couple years, I was not the same girl," she said.

Oh, ffs, OP, how is anyone supposed to read this article with all the ads and unrelated stuff? You couldn’t cut that out?

by Anonymousreply 1May 21, 2021 8:57 AM

The pain persisted, however. In recent years, Gaga has been found to have post-traumatic stress disorder, which she says she developed as a result of being raped, and fibromyalgia, a condition that causes pain all over the body, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"The way that I feel when I feel pain is how I felt after I was raped," she said in "The Me You Can't See." "I've had so many MRIs and scans. They don't find nothing, but your body remembers. I couldn't feel anything. I disassociated. It's like your brain goes offline. You don't know why no one else is panicking, but you are in an ultra state of paranoia."

Gaga went on to describe the process of healing her mental health as a "slow rise," saying she could make steady progress for months before "getting triggered" and automatically feeling bad again.

It took her 2 1/2 years to learn methods - like therapy, taking care of her body, or playing music - that successfully pull herself out of the bad spells, the artist said.

"It all started to slowly change," she added.

Gaga first publicly told Howard Stern in a 2014 interview that she had been raped by a producer 20 years older than her, saying it inspired her 2013 track "Swine."

The artist said she didn't tell anyone for years, fearing she might be "defined by it."

"I'll be damned if somebody's going to say that every creatively intelligent thing that I ever did is all boiled down to one d---head that did that to me. I'm going to take responsibility for all my pain looking beautiful," Gaga said, adding, "I did that."

At the time, Gaga said she didn't have any desire to identify or confront the producer. She said she once saw him at a store, causing her to feel "paralyzed by fear."

"It wasn't until I was a little bit older that I went, 'Wow, that was really messed up,'" the "Chromatica" singer told Stern.

This is awful, and I never knew about it. What I don’t understand is, why doesn’t she out him to protect other young women? She can’t be the only one who was mistreated by the guy.

by Anonymousreply 6May 21, 2021 9:06 AM

by Anonymousreply 7May 21, 2021 9:16 AM

Thank God Lady Gaga didn't reveal that during the Oscar campaign or I would have lost my Oscar to her rather than Olivia Colman which would have been far more humiliating for me.

by Anonymousreply 8May 21, 2021 9:23 AM

So, instead of going to the police so he can be arrested and legal proceedings against him can be initiated, she goes on television to whine about it while protecting his identity, so he can *allegedly* continue to abuse other women?

Also, isn't Gaga's father a considerably wealthy man? Do you think that he would have remained quiet while her daughter was kidnapped and dropped in the street while pregnant?

The 'MeToo' movement had some measure of validity (even though it hasn't really changed anything in Hollywood, besides turning Harvey Weinstein into a boogeyman), but sadly it has lost all cradibility after every single artist who is desperate for attention, started making up nonsense in order to increase their media presence.

Making these very serious accusations without going to the authorities reeks of shameless exploitation, and Gaga should be ashamed of herself for doing this.

by Anonymousreply 9May 21, 2021 9:28 AM

I’m tired of people claiming they were sexually assaulted by someone in the industry, yet won’t name the person or press charges so that someone else won’t become a victim.

by Anonymousreply 10May 21, 2021 9:31 AM

Is that about that creepy producer Ke$ha fought against, Dr. Luke?

by Anonymousreply 11May 21, 2021 9:32 AM

R9, her father is a crazy right wing nutjub she keeps at a distance. I think he's middle class Manhattan. So upper class everywhere else.

I do know he owns a restaurant in Manhattan that's basically a shrine to her.

It is weird that she doesn't name the guy. Wonder why? I totally believe her, btw.

by Anonymousreply 12May 21, 2021 9:32 AM

So R12, she keeps her father at a distance but didn't mind including him weeping and playing "Happy Family" in that ridiculously cheesy, self-serving documentary she did for Netflix? Also, she has foten said that she is extremely close to him and the rest of her relatives. So, what is it? Is she a poor, isolated little angel who has no one to turn to, or a normal human being with a normal relationship with her family?

Also, I repeat: if this is true, why hasn't she gone to the police? What was done to her are very serious crimes that maybe that producer has committed against other women. Why isn't she trying to prevent him from abusing anybody else, by denouncing him to the authorities?

She is so full of shit, it is unbelievable.

Demi Lovato is seething with jealousy right now.

by Anonymousreply 14May 21, 2021 10:04 AM

R13, I have no idea how much time Gaga spends with her father. I'm sure she genuinely loves her him, even if he has different politics. My guess is that pre-Trump? They probably just agreed to disagreed. That got harder to do, as it did for many of us, as Trump's reign bore on. Again, just a guess.

by Anonymousreply 15May 21, 2021 10:04 AM

R13, when did Gaga ever say she's a poor, isolated little angel with no one to turn to? I've thought she's always been close to her family. Are you just being anti-Gaga? Or is there merit to what you're saying?

Pussy rape is natural in the music business.

Anal and mouth are natural in the business, too, at the producer level.

It's when they go for as-yet-unmade holes that things get gnarly.

Civilians. Pfffft.

by Anonymousreply 61May 22, 2021 12:21 AM

Sounds like she consented, but regretted it later. That's not rape. He said "put out or get out!" She "put out". Ambition got the better of her. There's a difference between "rape" and "regret".

by Anonymousreply 67May 22, 2021 2:09 AM

Something doesn't add up with this story. If she was truly raped, she would NEVER have worked with known sex offender R. Kelly. I believe it was probably consensual in that she agreed to have sex with the producer in order to get him to work with her (known as "fucking for tracks"). She didn't want to have sex with this person, but felt she had no other choice if she wanted to get ahead. Still, that doesn't constitute rape.

In the past, she also made it sound like she was in a relationship with the person who "raped" her, so we assumed it was Rob Fusari, who she briefly dated. I mean, it had to be Rob Fusari, he was the first producer who worked with Gaga in 2006-07. Unless she worked with another producer before him, as Gaga would have been 19 in 2005-06.

Her story just doesn't make much sense. Maybe she's nervous when she speaks about it, but she needs to be more clear about how the events unfolded, and yes I agree that she needs to name this person. What's the point of even dredging this up if you're not going to name the person?

Oh, she has fibromyalgia? So she made the rape up, too, then?

by Anonymousreply 76May 22, 2021 7:54 AM

Let me get this right. Gaga got raped and got pregnant from the rape. She was kept basically prisoner by the producer who raped her. No family or friends reported her as missing. She was then dumped on the street by the rapist. She’s gone years without speaking up, not even going to police when she was first dumped on the street. When as a famous person she still chose to not say shit. Now she’s sharing her ordeal but not naming who the fucking rapist is, therefore allowing him to continue abusing others. Is she for fucking real? She expects us to believe her and worship her as victim?

I understand victim status is the utmost status symbol among many in the attention whoring jet set that Gaga is in, but even this story reeks more of confabulation or active attention seeking than anything based in reality.

MeToo encourages females to not take decisive action when necessary. It’s a form of “pass” for females which is why no one takes them seriously to begin with.

by Anonymousreply 86May 22, 2021 11:02 AM

R86 metoo had nothing to do with women not being taken seriously. Say whatever you want about her particular case, but don't make shit up. We would've never had a metoo if women were taken seriously -- there's hundreds of thousands of untested rape kits sitting on shelves right now.

Trust me, I always thought maybe victims were traumatized and mistaken that they were treated poorly by cops, but after a sister was raped (stranger forced in parking lot rape) it was every bit as bad as that and more -- they never found him and didn't care to.

If you want real EFFECTIVE rape laws and enforcement, then fucking LIFT ALL STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS. The rape investigation goes on forever, charges can be brought for fucking ever! Just like homicide cases! Why are you cunts so stupid?

by Anonymousreply 89May 22, 2021 12:43 PM

[quote]Now she’s sharing her ordeal but not naming who the fucking rapist is, therefore allowing him to continue abusing others. Is she for fucking real?

On one hand I get why people want people who say they were sexually assaulted to name the person who did it. It could prevent it from happening again.

On the other hand once they do they will have to continually dredge up everything for the rest of their damn lives if they're a celebrity. They'd have to constantly spend time defending themselves or attacking the other person while the other person did the same.

However, none of this explains her working with R. Kelly.

With Terry Richardson, I personally wouldn't have known much about the guy if I wasn't on the internet occasionally. Lots of people worked with Terry.

R. Kelly has been public news for years since his relationship with Aaliyah. It'd be incredibly hard to miss that. The simplest of searches would have turned up data on his past issues. Sure people were jamming out to Remix to Ignition in 2003 when the internet was still "young" but by 2008 everyone knew what a scumbag he was. Matthew Knowles notoriously said he'd never let the girls of Destiny's Child near him.

[quote]If you want real EFFECTIVE rape laws and enforcement, then fucking LIFT ALL STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS

Because the statue of limitations prevents people from being charged with sex crimes after physical evidence has deteriorated or become less reliable. After a certain point it becomes he said, she said or they said. It's also harder to trust one's memory after a certain point. I think that is a very valid reason.

There was the guy that claimed George Takei sexually assaulted him over 35 years before. How the hell would you even prove that? If you asked me where my friend was on a certain night 10 years ago I'd have no damn clue. If it happened at a certain place and a certain time years before, that place may not even exist any more and the likelihood of finding evidence either person was there would be near nil.

It's how they make their money, R98. You think those tax exemptions for charities that do absolutely nothing for the people the claim to help, but in reality do nothing are going to fund themselves? Are those utterly worthless commentators, therapists, talk therapy types going to be worth anything if an actual real, tangible work were be forced upon them and rear its ugly head? Would they have the same above it all talk? There are a few who really do know, but most of those are brushed aside who have no idea what they're talking about. There are a whole lot of people in this class of people who are doing more harm than good, and I don't think they care. The more harm the better for them as they line their pockets.

She’s really insane.

It’s Demi Lovato Light... I’m sure she was assaulted but every time she needs to be heard she adds new layers to this story. Now she was impregnated and dropped off at a corner? He threatened to burn (?) her music, she has a total breakdown. I hate to be that guy BUT I know Justin Tranter(her former hit song writer friend from the east village days when they would go to the gay bars and she would ride his shoulders topless screaming she was going to be a STAHHHHRRR) anyhow She was destined for fame because she was determined and yes talented. She was not a broken victim of any man. Even if she was sexually assaulted, the GaGa he hung out with would take it and use it for her own advancement.
