ALL that said, private businesses and state governments can completely make different rules than the federal CDC guidance. Even if CDC says mask off at indoor settings, and your state says the same, CVS is a private business and can restrict anyway it wants to, in order to assure against infections and lawsuits.

Target’s policy is that those who are fully vaccinated need not don a mask. I was there yesterday maskless & I was only among a fraction who was not wearing a mask - although so many of the masked wore theirs improperly. I felt like I should’ve been wearing a MAGA hat.

People are still generally using masks in NYC. Nobody in my gym is, but they're dutifully wiping down the equipment after every set maskless.

People in the stores seem to be complying for the most part. Feels like everybody's still figuring out their personal comfort level with masks outdoors.

This reminds me of a time, around 2014, I was shopping in Target in the market section and this white gay threw a scene because he claimed this older black man touched his ass. The older man apologized and said he did not mean to touch his ass, that as he was trying to get through a small space (the aisle had many people in it) he probably accidentally brushed against him but it wasn’t intentional. The white gay wouldn’t let it go, making a scene. Security came and took away the black man, who was still apologizing, and because it was about “sexual assault” they had to get cops involved.

Other people were saying the man did not mean to touch your ass but the white gay wasn’t having it. After that people were giving him dirty looks, me included, and he must have felt the energy and left his cart full of items and stormed off with attitude.

This was in Brooklyn, NY. And I’ve never forgotten that moment and what a cunty Queen that gay was being. I always knew gays, white gays included, who would speak of THOSE stereotypical “white gays” who are bitchy, entitled etc. but that was one of my first times seeing it unfold in person. I am fully vaccinated. Yesterday I went into a store that had a sign on the front door indicating that vaccinated customers do not need to wear a mask.
