So is Bruce Weber blackballed from the mainstream fashion publications?

Apparently shooting for Man About Town now.

Are there really any mainstream fashion publications left?

by Anonymousreply 1May 18, 2021 3:08 PM

I mean he used to shoot for Vogue

by Anonymousreply 2May 18, 2021 3:16 PM

Was he me-tooed? Isn’t he supposedly straight?

by Anonymousreply 3May 18, 2021 3:19 PM

He is married to his longtime friend and manager Nan Bush.

by Anonymousreply 4May 18, 2021 3:27 PM

Lord, all the twink model cock he’s sucked. Inspiring.

by Anonymousreply 5May 18, 2021 3:35 PM

What's with all these dumb "digging for drama" threads lately? So, because he did a photo shoot for a small magazine, there *must* be some nefarious reason why it wasn't a bigger mag? Good lord some of you should write for the New York Post. Jodie Foster walking her dog? What level of *desperation* must she have reached to *parade* herself in front of the cameras? *clutches pearls*

He has been canceled for harassing male models.

by Anonymousreply 7May 18, 2021 4:59 PM

His foray into film was a disaster but during that time he spurned so many big photo shoots that editors felt snubbed. Also during that time he settled a few lawsuits for his behavior with very young male models from past shoots. Even then, one or two still made it I into the press.

Remember how the Brewer Twins claimed he tricked them into doing all those nude incestuous shots?

by Anonymousreply 9May 18, 2021 5:14 PM

That’s Sharon Stone level denial, r9.

Does anyone still wear a hat?

by Anonymousreply 11May 18, 2021 5:35 PM

Holy Christ, r6: chill the fuck out. Why are you carrying on?

by Anonymousreply 12May 18, 2021 5:35 PM

Any recent photos of the Brewers?

by Anonymousreply 13May 18, 2021 5:41 PM

He made many films, R8.

by Anonymousreply 14May 18, 2021 5:47 PM

R12, I am chill. We're allowed to criticize shitty, boring posts. Because they suck.

by Anonymousreply 15May 18, 2021 5:49 PM

Blackballed, I don’t know, blueballed I’m sure of as he’s not getting all that easily exploited teen jock boy model ass that he’s used to getting.

by Anonymousreply 16May 18, 2021 5:59 PM

Do magazines still do those expensive photoshoots on exotic beaches or other highly exotic locations with tons and tons of product placements?

by Anonymousreply 17May 18, 2021 6:10 PM

An actress turned director who was in one of the A & F campaigns told me that he would give party drugs to the straight guys so he could get the homoerotic overtones of his shoots.

Doug Inglish shoots for them too but he has also shot for bigger publications.

They're sort of a new "British Gay Mafia" magazine but they've managed to get great interviews since they work with good PR firms to get their clients to talk to them and shoot with them.

They'll have Tom Holland and Jared Leto but then they'll have British people I've never heard of then back with Anthony Mackie and Pharrell.

They may not be Vogue but they're not Paper.

"Allowed"?

You come across as a childish idiot for having such a shit-fit. Act your age.

Because there are no more male lifestyle magazines in print other than GQ! Remember Details?

He seems predatory and I'n definitely not defending him, but how dumb do you have to be to be tricked into unwittlingly taking off your clothes and making out with your naked brother?

What did he do, tell them they were feeling up their own reflection in a magical 3-D mirror?

R21, I just realized Details was gone the other day. I knew Male Vogue had kicked it years before that. I never stopped to think about how we're basically down to GQ and Men's Health.

by Anonymousreply 23May 19, 2021 3:53 PM

Some of his work is just shit now

Did anything ever happen about The Face returning, maybe it was more prominent in GB then the USA.

by Anonymousreply 25May 20, 2021 2:55 PM

Ugh, R25 here, I just looked up The Face on Amazon and it retails for $36.99 with a $3.99 delivery fee. It looks to be quarterly.

My partner is a photographer and does a lot of nudes.

He should be having all his male models cancelled for their harassing him. Funny thing - when men take their clothes off in a semi-private studio setting, even when it's professionals or experienced models and even when it's "straight" models, sex is an issue. Eroticism is a natural part of it. We've had these guys stalk and cry and want to live with us.

And my partner doesn't go for the beauties much. He prefers photographing men (and women - same issues) who are "real people."

My favorite was a rich-boy college kid who answered an ad who showed up with his entitlement and stick-up-the-ass awkwardness. He finally said, "Would this go better if you fucked me first?" "No." And then he got his lawyer father involved because he was nervous the photographer would abuse his image and make money off it, even though he left no workable shots, was an adult and signed all the forms.

Of course people will groom young men and things will go too far at times, or go inappropriately. Abusive behavior is unacceptable. But sometimes the abuse is defined after the fact as a way to sort. Not all sexual contact is bad.

Imagine having to post that. But it's 2021 and the only people who have a free rein seem to be the declared Super Victims of the World.

by Anonymousreply 27May 20, 2021 3:15 PM

Anyone recognize this model?

R27, your partner has my dream job. I’ve always wondered if one can make money taking nudes of men these days. Is he publishing these photos somewhere?

by Anonymousreply 29June 4, 2021 1:56 PM

r28, it looks kind of like one of the Carlson twins but if the 1986 date is correct they would have been too young
