I never will understand why some gays think it is so important that everyone come out? I say just let people be. Some people haven't figured it out yet and that is ok... or it should be ok. There is a whole LGBTQ spectrum and I suspect that somewhere on the spectrum is where most humans are (there are a lot of pan and bisexual people). Forcing them to "claim" one thing or the other really isn't fair. As long as they are honest about their interests with people they are intimate with (so no one is being misled) then it really is nobody else's business.

I dream of the day when none of this matters to people other than those directly involved.

Very few people "come out" these days. If he/she is gay, the person in question more or less arrives already out, meaning we already know.

The latest thing is announcing you're trans...or some such nonsense like you're nonbinary, which really means you're bisexual, which really means you're gay.

It's exhausting and a very circuitous journey these days to finally coming out.

Who said I was choosing? The closet adds stress to people's life. The degree varies. The amount of damage to the psyche varies as well.

I'm glad you had a loving and accepting environment where you felt comfortable coming out. That is not the case for everybody. People have different circumstances. To some it could be the difference between having a warm place to sleep at night and coming home to find your belongings on the street.

Of course being in the closet is stressful but so is coming out for a lot of people. Are you aware that many people commit suicide because they are outed or threatened with being outed? Many of them are just teenagers.

It may feel good to you personally to see another person out, but you don't know everyone's situation. This is real life and death shit to people. It's none of your fucking business. Let people come out in their own time.
