Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin facing historical sexual misconduct allegation: CTV News sources

[quote] The incident, sources say, allegedly dates back 32 years to early 1989, when Fortin was a student at the Royal Military College in Saint-Jean, Que.

[quote] The sources, who are not authorized to speak publicly, said Fortin is under investigation for allegedly exposing himself before a woman.

So he's been removed from the vaccine task force for allegedly exposing himself more than 30 years ago? And the complaint against him was only made two months ago?

Women are such self-glorifying cunts.

Someone abuses his position and makes a sexual display?

Where's the priorities here?

by Anonymousreply 1May 17, 2021 3:15 AM

He didn't have a position at the time, R1.

by Anonymousreply 2May 17, 2021 3:17 AM

He looks kinda hot.

by Anonymousreply 3May 17, 2021 3:17 AM

Enough is enough.

It's alleged (not proven) that he exposed himself 32 years ago when he was a 19 year old student. Why the fuck was he removed? Trudeau should insist that he be brought back to the vaccine effort.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 4May 17, 2021 3:24 AM

Of course, conservative supporters are blaming Trudeau for this because he should have known that Fortin flashed some woman 32 years ago when he was in university and Trudeau himself was in high school.

by Anonymousreply 5May 17, 2021 1:18 PM

Canadian media is lapping this story up, treating a 32 year old allegation of flashing as a sexual assault.

by Anonymousreply 6May 17, 2021 9:07 PM

If he flashed it at me, I'd be down on my knees in a flash!

by Anonymousreply 7May 18, 2021 4:02 AM

Military and RCMP brass are going to fall like dominos. And about time.

by Anonymousreply 8May 18, 2021 7:16 AM

What about all the time women flash their tits. Is that not sexual assault?

by Anonymousreply 9May 18, 2021 7:32 AM

As they should, R8, but not for flashing someone 32 years ago.

by Anonymousreply 10May 18, 2021 12:57 PM

by Anonymousreply 11May 18, 2021 1:01 PM

We'll have an opinion after we see what he looked like 32 years ago.

by Anonymousreply 12May 18, 2021 1:07 PM

So now they're trying to say that Trudeau should have fired the guy back in March when the complaint was first made, as if Fortin didn't deserve some form of due process.

I hear he has a lawyer. Good. I hope he sues the fuck out of the media who are making a big deal over this and lumping him in with military officers who committed actual sexual assaults and rapes.

I'm telling you, this has Conservative stench all over it. Something's wrong with this story.

by Anonymousreply 13May 19, 2021 1:42 AM

He rubbed his manhood against me!

by Anonymousreply 14May 19, 2021 3:04 AM

Ridiculous... what 19 year old boy doesn’t flash his cock?

by Anonymousreply 15May 19, 2021 3:47 AM

He didn't even do that, R14.

by Anonymousreply 16May 19, 2021 1:21 PM

So was it a quick flash of the towel as he was walking around in college?

Of course they have to take every allegation seriously - but this seems akin to what happened to Al Franken. One photo of him 'air grabbing' a woman's breasts on a comedy tour and it's all over.

Y'know what? Men need to start crawling through their memory banks and pulling out all the inappropriate behavior women have done. It's not a one way street.

Neither of the above events were traumatizing. This shit is ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 17May 19, 2021 1:28 PM

That's just it, R17. A good friend of mine was also a university student in 89, she's successful business owner now and freely admits to flashing a group of same aged guys in car while sitting at a red light, one of them dropped his pants and mooned her back. Everyone laughed, no one was traumatized. Should she be destroyed for flashing her tits 30 years ago when she was young, drunk, and stupid?

By the way, she think the Fortin story is ridiculous and even wondered if it was some woman he turned down back in the day, and now that he's been on TV nearly every day since the new year she's out for revenge?

by Anonymousreply 18May 19, 2021 2:25 PM

i guess? all of this only matters if the person has authority or some high profile position that possible affects the public? otherwise, NONE OF this would be a issue ever (unless it happened at the work place of course).....

all i know is he looks like he has major hung vibes!... nice!

by Anonymousreply 19May 19, 2021 2:28 PM

He was a 19 year old university kid at the time, R19. How high profile could he have been?

by Anonymousreply 20May 19, 2021 2:31 PM

From the Globe and Mail Part One

"National Defence waited nearly two months to remove Major-General Dany Fortin from his military duties and as head of Canada’s vaccination rollout because it was scrambling to deal with a series of allegations of sexual misconduct involving at least seven high-ranking officers, sources say.

The federal government replaced Maj.-Gen. Fortin on Monday, naming Brigadier-General Krista Brodie as head of Canada’s vaccination campaign effective immediately. The Public Health Agency of Canada said she has played a key role in the vaccine rollout as part of a deployment to the agency in November.

Maj-Gen. Fortin was informed Friday that he had to step aside but his lawyer said he was never told the nature of a three-decade-old allegation of sexual misconduct until two days later when he was contacted by a CTV reporter.

“It is a news reporter who informed Major-General Fortin of the allegation against him Sunday, May 16. This took him completely by surprise. He vigorously and categorically denies this allegation,” Commander Mark Letourneau said in a statement to The Globe and Mail on Monday.

The reporter told Maj-Gen. Fortin that a female complainant had gone to military police in March, alleging that he exposed himself while a student in 1989 at the Royal Military College in Saint-Jean, Que.

Two sources confirmed the allegation was made in March, but said the delay in asking Maj-Gen. Fortin to leave his post was because National Defence was dealing with at least seven complaints against senior officers. The department wanted to make sure that proper processes were followed to avoid possible lawsuits, they said. The Globe and Mail is not revealing the sources because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter."

Part Two

"The Canadian Armed Forces have been rocked by a sexual-misconduct crisis that has blemished the military, forced a number of major commanders to step aside and resulted in the appointment of former Supreme Court justice Louise Arbour to study the creation of an independent watchdog to investigate complaints of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape.

Three military police investigations are known to be under way into the conduct of former chief of the defence staff Jonathan Vance, Admiral Art McDonald, who succeeded Mr. Vance, and Vice-Admiral Haydn Edmundson. Major-General Peter Dawe, commander of special forces, left his post after it was revealed that he wrote a letter of support for a soldier convicted of sexual assault of a female member.

The sources noted that Adm. McDonald was asked to voluntarily leave his post in February several weeks after a complaint of sexual misconduct was made against him to military police.

Brig.-Gen. Brodie, the new head of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1989. During her time in the army, she has commanded platoons, a company and a battalion. She has been deployed to Croatia, Bosnia and Afghanistan. Brig.-Gen. Brodie also served with both NATO and the United Nations. She is married with three children.

While there is some sympathy at National Defence headquarters for Maj-Gen. Fortin’s situation, the sources said Acting Chief of Defence Staff Lieutenant-General Wayne Eyre and deputy minister Jody Thomas took the complaint seriously. They have decided that all complaints – no matter how long ago – must be dealt with through a proper military investigation, sources said.

The Prime Minister’s Office declined to say when it was informed of the allegation against Maj-Gen. Fortin, who has won the government’s approval for managing the distribution of vaccines to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

“These matters are handled by authorities and CAF officials. When appropriate, the PMO is provided status updates on senior personnel decisions by the Privy Council Office,” press secretary Alex Wellstead said in an e-mail.

NDP defence critic Randall Garrison said the Liberal government should have acted on recommendations contained within a 2015 report from former Supreme Court justice Marie Deschamps that detailed a highly sexualized culture in the Forces that is hostile to women and LGBTQ members.

“Service people and all Canadians are watching this unfold and wondering just what is going on and how years of inaction from the government has brought us to this point,” Mr. Garrison said.

The Trudeau government has been under political pressure in recent weeks since former military ombudsman Gary Walbourne told a parliamentary committee that he presented Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan with an allegation about Mr. Vance in March, 2018, when he was chief of the defence staff. Mr. Sajjan declined to see the evidence.

Although the Prime Minister’s Office was immediately informed of the allegation, no further action was taken after Mr. Walbourne emphasized that the complainant had come to him in confidence.

Employment Minister Carla Qualtrough said Monday that the country’s vaccine effort will not be affected by Maj-Gen. Fortin’s departure from his role.

Canada has had 20 million doses delivered to provinces as of last Friday, she added, saying another 50 million are on the way before the end of June."

Here's Fortin speaking on the vaccine rollout.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 23May 19, 2021 2:40 PM

Generally speaking, men who get a bang out of shocking women by unexpectedly showing their dicks to them don't just do it once. They also tend to escalate to more harmful forms of sexual aggression. My guess is this isn't all they've got on this guy.

by Anonymousreply 24May 19, 2021 2:44 PM

[quote] The sources, who are not authorized to speak publicly, said Fortin is under investigation for allegedly exposing himself before a woman.

This dumb bitch must live a charmed life if a flash of peen from over 30 years ago is such a traumatic thing to her.

by Anonymousreply 25May 19, 2021 2:47 PM

They have nothing else on him, R24, and some sources are saying that he wasn't informed of the charges against him or asked to step down earlier because he wasn't deemed a threat.

by Anonymousreply 26May 19, 2021 3:05 PM

It's fair to investigate this, but it's unfortunate timing that this happened right in the middle of the vaccine rollout. Hopefully it won't delay the work of the vaccination task force.

by Anonymousreply 27May 21, 2021 1:12 PM

I wasn't complaining.

by Anonymousreply 28May 21, 2021 1:14 PM

He's a hot daddy.

Guess no one will ever be able to do foolish things ever again without being cancelled forever. If he was flashing last week, I'd understand the uproar. But thirty fucking years ago? Seriously?

by Anonymousreply 29May 21, 2021 1:17 PM

R27, he's only being investigated because of the rollout. He was a NATO commander but didn't have a lot of media exposure before Covid. My guess is someone recognized him and decided to complain 32 years later.

Fortin denies it, so unless the woman has some kind of evidence, and he has an otherwise clean record, how on earth will they ever prove this? And why is it okay to take a person down over something that's impossible to prove?

by Anonymousreply 30May 21, 2021 1:26 PM

I need his slab of uncut Canadian bacon in me quite deeply.

by Anonymousreply 31May 21, 2021 1:50 PM

This is so fucking absurd and no, not at all a sexual assault.

by Anonymousreply 32May 21, 2021 2:02 PM

Not too many pics of him out there. The ones that do exist look relatively recent.

I'd kill to see a photo of him from '89, when this sexual misconduct was alleged to have happened.

by Anonymousreply 33May 21, 2021 2:08 PM

He's got serious BDF

by Anonymousreply 34May 21, 2021 4:13 PM

R31 I'm guessing Fortin is around 50 (so born around 1970) and is French Canadian so he's probably cut. Circumcision was the norm in Quebec until about the early 2000s.

by Anonymousreply 35May 21, 2021 5:12 PM

What we really need to know if there are any gay rumors about Fortin.

I can see him topping Trudeau.

by Anonymousreply 36May 21, 2021 5:30 PM

R36 Fortin is married (to a woman) with (according to Google) two daughters. I would, however, have enjoyed a sex tape with Fortin giving Trudeau a very deep "covid jab."

by Anonymousreply 37May 21, 2021 5:35 PM

That doesn't mean anything, R37.

Here's Fortin getting his jab.

R30 The someone who recognized him is probably a conservative supporter........

by Anonymousreply 39May 21, 2021 6:32 PM

If the person is willing to make allegations 32 years later then her name should be made public.

by Anonymousreply 40May 21, 2021 8:00 PM

Cock pics available?

by Anonymousreply 41May 24, 2021 4:16 AM

I think he's uncut.

by Anonymousreply 42May 24, 2021 5:55 AM

Is Major-General a decent rank?

I only date officers.

by Anonymousreply 43May 24, 2021 6:06 AM

R42, yeah, most French Canadians are uncut, so odds are he is too, but there are exceptions to the rule (eg. gay porn star Pierre Fitch).

by Anonymousreply 44May 24, 2021 10:45 AM

Something about this story just really stanks!

by Anonymousreply 45May 24, 2021 11:02 AM

Evan Solomon won't let it go.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 46May 24, 2021 2:52 PM

About the whole French Canadian men are uncut discussions, it should be noted that prior to the 1980s, the circumcision rate in Quebec was over 80% due to the influence of the Catholic Church which in Quebec endorsed circumcision. After the 80s, the rate dropped significantly and by the early 2000s, only about 15% of babies were circumcised. Since Fortin was born in the 1970s, it's likely he is cut.

by Anonymousreply 47May 24, 2021 3:54 PM

Where did you read that, R47? I heard that the rate of circumcision in Quebec was always low.

[quote] Hospital-derived data reported for neonatal circumcision rates in 1970–1971 varied from 42% in Nova Scotia to 67% in Alberta; the prevalence rates went down during the 1970s, with the lowest rate of 13% in Quebec and 22% in Nova Scotia in 1976.26

So Fortin may not be cut. Then again, maybe he is? Maybe his "victim" could tell us, it's the least she could do.

He actually tweeted out to people that they were being "partisan" (his word) for those asking him why he is TRIPLING down on this "Who Knew What When"

Solomon does a radio talk show, and he has turned BOTH Power Play & Question Period into cheap, tabloid fodder

He is definitely one of those privileged white guys in the media, who would prefer a Red Tory or Blue Liberal as PM, and see Trudeau as too "left"

by Anonymousreply 49May 24, 2021 4:49 PM

[quote]That doesn't mean anything, [R37].

You know what? (And I suspect this will be news to you.) But, yeah, when a man is married to a woman and has two children, it usually means he's straight.

by Anonymousreply 50May 24, 2021 4:52 PM

Where are the areas where people are most often flashed?

by Anonymousreply 51May 24, 2021 4:57 PM

Ridiculous, R49. Trudeau isn't "left," especially on environmental and Indigenous issues, which is why I'm not a huge fan. Still, I don't hate Trudeau, and I don't get the unhinged hatred towards him.

Regarding the Fortin issue, this allegation is from 32 years ago, and in my mind, it isn't all that serious depending on the context. If Fortin was in a club or running around a dorm or something, then this is a witch-hunt plain and simple. Conservative trolls are already beating the drum about why Fortin stepped down and Trudeau didn't after the groping story broke a few years back.

If he confronted a woman in a threatening manner and exposed himself, well that's different.

The problem is that it is now his word against hers. There's likely no evidence anyway and as long as Fortin has no other complaints against him, then I don't see why he should have stepped down or why Trudeau should have fired him immediately. We have due process in this country and I'd like to know whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty.

This accuser shouldn't be allowed to remain anonymous though. You don't come after a person 32 years later with such an allegation and then get to hide in the weeds.

by Anonymousreply 52May 24, 2021 4:57 PM

R48 This has been discussed several times on DL (usually about Justin Trudeau). In the mid-1970s Canadian Pediatric Society issued it's first study on male circumcision, one of the first studies in North America about the subject. The circumcision rate in Canada was over 70% at this time with Quebec being roughly 80% and Ontario 75%. Quebec's circumcision rate began to drop rapidly after 1980.

[quote] Conservative trolls are already beating the drum about why Fortin stepped down and Trudeau didn't after the groping story broke a few years back.

I terms of the 'groping story"

1 - The woman at the center of this story has made it clear, she had NO interest in pursing the matter - or having Trudeau face any type of repercussion

2 - This story broke prior to the 2019 election, and the Canadian electorate re-elected Trudeau. So the people of Canada spoke on this matter

These are two points Conservatives trolls REFUSE to admit or discuss.

by Anonymousreply 54May 24, 2021 5:32 PM

R46 Aren't their rumours about Evan Solomon being a creep with women? I remember hearing whispers about it somewhere.

by Anonymousreply 55May 24, 2021 5:37 PM

I know all that, R54, and so do the conservatives, but they don't care. It's a drum they'll keep beating no matter what.

Same with the blackface issue. They're against all things deemed politically correct, and I presume they don't really give a shit about Trudeau wearing blackface all those years ago, but they'll hammer him with it because they view him as a "progressive, politically correct, lefty" and they've found he's done/said some unseemly things. They're the most racist, but, they'll go after Trudeau at any opportunity no matter how stupid.

There are legitimate reasons to criticize Trudeau and company, but con trolls don't pick up on those things because they're too stupid.

by Anonymousreply 56May 24, 2021 5:39 PM

R52, Trudeau is probably more to the left than some previous Liberal Prime Ministers, such as Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin.

Trudeau is regularly criticized in the right-wing media by those like John Ivison as being the most left-wing Prime Minister in history. That's not necessarily true, but that's the narrative that they like to put out there.

by Anonymousreply 57May 26, 2021 9:06 AM

[quote] Generally speaking, men who get a bang out of shocking women by unexpectedly showing their dicks to them don't just do it once. They also tend to escalate to more harmful forms of sexual aggression. My guess is this isn't all they've got on this guy.

You're making a lot of assumptions there. One might assume as well that he thought she was game for little sex play but made an error of judgment. That is probably the most plausible explanation. Young men are sex crazy, and more probably not sociopathic abusers.

by Anonymousreply 58May 26, 2021 9:23 AM

He should be commended and lauded. If this is a sexual asault, then women's beach volleyball must be a sexual annihilation! Look at those labia slipping out of the bikinis

by Anonymousreply 67June 14, 2021 10:32 PM

by Anonymousreply 68June 15, 2021 1:44 AM

Unless Dany Fortin exposed his penis to Justin Trudeau, and then Justin bent over, spread his luscious French Canadian ass and let Fortin breed him, I don't really care about something that happened 30 years ago. Maybe I'm just a perv, but flashing your cock at someone is not sexual assault. It's inappropriate and absolutely a fire able offense if it happens in the workplace, but not assault.

by Anonymousreply 69June 15, 2021 2:49 AM

by Anonymousreply 94August 18, 2021 2:02 PM

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 96August 18, 2021 3:13 PM

R94 It depends on the circumstances technically. If he had been seeing/flirting with this woman and their was implied consent to expose himself it muddies the water. If he just walked passed her and whipped out his cock, that's a different story.

It's probably not PC to say this but, he was 18 and drunk. 18 years old do stupid shit all the time (both men and women). I'm not excusing it at all, but it's not like he groped her or tried to rape her...he flashed his flaccid cock at her. If it was so traumatic why did it take 33 years to come forward about it...the timing of it all just raises questions for me.

by Anonymousreply 97August 18, 2021 7:08 PM

I'm not ruling out the possibility that the person coming forward isn't being encouraged/paid by the conservatives in order to make Trudeau look bad.

by Anonymousreply 98August 18, 2021 7:35 PM

"Major-General Dany Fortin, the former head of Canada’s vaccine task force, has been charged with one count of sexual assault at a police station in Gatineau, Que., a development that brings the issue of sexual misconduct in the military to the fore of the election campaign.

Wearing his uniform and medals, Maj.-Gen. Fortin was accompanied by his wife, Madeleine Collin, and a member of his legal team Wednesday morning as he arrived at the police station to hear the charge against him.

Speaking to reporters outside afterward, he said his lawyers had tried to get information about the situation from prosecutors but were unsuccessful, adding that the arrest warrant, issued Monday, was a “total surprise.”

“For the past three months, my family and I have been living this nightmare of not knowing,” he said. “Not knowing the nature of the allegation, not knowing the status of the investigation, not knowing whether or not I’d be charged.”

He said he would “vigorously” defend himself against the charge and also ask the federal court to consider “the lack of due process” he has been accorded “throughout this ordeal.”

Maj.-Gen. Fortin was selected in November, 2020, to lead the vaccine task force. He handled logistics and operations for the Public Health Agency of Canada in the procurement and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.

He was bumped from the role in May, when he suddenly faced an investigation by military police. He said he was told that he was under investigation for some form of sexual misconduct alleged to have occurred more than 30 years ago and that he learned about the general nature of the allegations from a reporter.

On Wednesday, he told reporters that the acting chief of the defence staff told him the decision to remove him from his role was the result of a political calculus.

“I just want to get back to work,” he said.

“I’ve had the honour and privilege of serving Canadians for over 36 years in some very challenging circumstances and places, including combat settings,” he added. “This fight against an invisible foe has been the hardest of my career.”

The charge stems from an offence alleged to have occurred on Jan. 1, 1988.

Philippe Morneau, a member of Maj.-Gen. Fortin’s legal team, also spoke briefly Wednesday and confirmed the charge of sexual assault.

Mr. Morneau said the arraignment will take place at 9 a.m. on Sept. 20 at the Gatineau Court House. Sept. 20 is also the date of the federal election.

Speaking in Vancouver, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau was asked about the case and his government’s handling of sexual misconduct incidents.

“The Canadian Armed Forces has not been to the level it needs to be to protect all women and men who choose to serve,” he said. “The culture has not been what people deserve.”

Mr. Trudeau added that his government has brought forward a “number of different measures” aimed at improving the culture of the military and ensuring there are recourses and better resources in place when people do come forward.

“We know there is more to do,” he said, citing his government’s appointment of Lieutenant-General Jennie Carignan as the military’s new chief of professional conduct and culture and the appointment of former Supreme Court justice Louise Arbour to study the creation of an independent reporting system for sexual assault in the Forces.

Here’s the thing: usually these guys MIGHT have one formal complaint or even an arrest if they’re civilians, but the truth is that men who do this sort of shit at 19, are usually doing it at 49.

And yes, there IS a difference between a drunk frat boy or the annoying, town drunk at the bar, mooning a crowd of frat boys and sorority girls, and exposing your dick to people while you’re at WORK.

Has it ever occurred to you apologists here, that perhaps the people you flash your cocks to or who you drunkenly and carelessly grope, may have a huge stick up their ass and be a male Karen, or may be a person with a history of sexual abuse trauma, or the most probable answer, which is that perhaps they’re just not that fucking into you?

I mean, think about being somewhere at work or studying in your dorms, and suddenly, some sloppy drunken, college heifer frau bursts into your space, and decides to unleash her huge, stretch marked tits on your head, or something equally vulgar?

Is that funny? Because I can take a mother fucking joke, and I can guarantee you I’d be pissed off at the bitch, and would probably smack her tits away HARD.

Same with Mr. Zuper Zipper Zurprize! I’d be PISSED if this acne cream riddled fuck poured his cock out of his pants “just because, hardee- harr-harr!

These asshole don’t stop, either. No one backed his shit up because he made enemies, had even less friends than enemies, and had a long-standing reputation for being a fuck up in a very specific way.

Am I sure? Nope. And I’m willing to bet I’m probably right in assuming this? Yep.

Where did it say he did it at work, R103? He was a student at the time it happened, in 1988, and didn't join the forces until 1991.

I believe this is a hit aimed at Trudeau, whose government overreacted and fired Fortin with no evidence and no charges against him because of Trudeau's bungling of other military sexual assault cases.

by Anonymousreply 104August 18, 2021 8:28 PM

R103 Do you need a Valium, sweetie?

While it is true that sexual offenders would start young and with acts that you could easily dismiss as just "drunk boy" behaviour at first. But we should also note that a lot of guys who do stupid shit in their youth (such as flashing their cock while drunk at a party) don't go on to be sexual predators. I am open to Fortin being a sexual predator, but to date, there is one 33 year old highly shrouded allegation against him. To date, no one else (inside or outside the military) has come forward with allegations against him so as far we know at this stage, there's no pattern. Also the alleged event took place on New Years which to me only underlines the notion that this was stupid teenage behaviour and not the start of history. There are so many unknowns, it's difficult to even guess what happened. Was this a girl he was seeing? Had they had sex in the past? Were they drunk? Did they accuser not given consent implied or otherwise? Normally, in a case involving someone with an established history there is a ton of smoke...there is none of that with Fortin right now. So I am actually going with the innocent until proven guilty. To me, this does not read as a Cosby or Ghomeshi thing. And I know it's not "right to say" but if the accuser was so traumatized, why did take 33 years to come forward. Fortin was well-known within the military structure. It's just very odd that this verrrrry vague accusation comes forward after Fortin was appointed by Trudeau and after Julie Payette scandal was brought to light creating a narrative about Trudeau's judgment for his appointments. The timing just seems verrrrrryyy coincidental ...and I'm not even a Trudaeu supporter.

by Anonymousreply 105August 18, 2021 8:35 PM

Holy shit. Fortin's lawyer is on CTV. She's claiming that there were notes written by the chief of defense staff that stated that Fortin had to be removed or the situation "could bring down the government."

by Anonymousreply 106August 18, 2021 9:22 PM

Did he moon someone? What is the story?

by Anonymousreply 107August 19, 2021 12:39 AM

R106 There is something more going on here. I really feel like this a blatant attempt to tarnish Trudeau while completely destroying Fortin's career.

by Anonymousreply 108August 19, 2021 1:15 AM

100%, R108.

R107, he apparently flashed someone.

by Anonymousreply 109August 19, 2021 12:49 PM

Flashing isnt really sex

by Anonymousreply 110August 19, 2021 1:21 PM

I get taking down the Liberals, but why target Fortin? Unless he's just collateral damage, R109.

by Anonymousreply 111August 20, 2021 2:11 AM

R111 Likely he's just collateral damage.

by Anonymousreply 112August 20, 2021 2:24 AM

I had the hottest sex dream about Dany Fortin last night. I woke up of course and tried to fall back asleep right away with hopes of my dream continuing, but alas, it didn't.

by Anonymousreply 113August 28, 2021 2:37 AM

He was uncut in my dream, by the way.

This case is so odd. Why are there still no details about the charges?

by Anonymousreply 117September 28, 2021 7:34 PM

I've said this all along. The Trudeau government panicked and released Fortin.

R118 Yup. They knew they were going to call an election and with Julie Payette having to resign in disgrace, it would not have looked good for Trudeau to have yet another one of his appointments being investigated.

by Anonymousreply 119September 30, 2021 12:09 AM

Woman here. I find it absolutely horrifying what road this "me too" stuff has taken and feel bad for ever supporting it. Systematic abuse of power à la Weinstein is nothing like some dumb shit someone did 30 years ago. These puritan trials I would rather have allocated with the right only 3 years ago. Every situation where you can say "I'm flattered, maybe even a little tempted but no, thank you," and walk away with minimal consequences is not sexual assault.

This Metoo is a court of public opinion. They cannot take your freedom, but they’ll take your job and carrier instead.

This guy looks like a pig. Look at that nose!

by Anonymousreply 123October 12, 2021 5:26 PM

When I was five the neighbor boy and I pulled out our wieners and touched them together. I was about a month older than he was (I suppose I still am, assuming he's still alive.)

Did I assault him?

Could he have me cancelled? You know, if he remembers my name. I don't remember his.
