WTF are you talking about? An excerpt from the recent Mike Nichols book was in NEW YORK magazine a few months ago, Mike's relationship with Richard Avedon was discussed in the NY article, their relationship was also discussed in a many other articles about Avedon.

There are many online articles mentioning their relationship.

I'm looking at Mark Harris's book now and on pp. 543-4 it says, "Avedon's reported contention that they had once been lovers remains uncorroborated, but they had indisputably been the closest of friends for over forty years."

R260, I think they were odd because Kate Hudson was really young and in "first flower" as an actress, and she not only hooked up with this Jack Daniels-y kind of guy but actually married him and had a kid very quickly. At the time, it was an unusual thing to do. He wasn't an A-lister or glamorous. His band's music was forgettable.

It wasn't a Gwyneth and Chris Martin thing, although I thought that was kind of a weird hookup for other reasons (she was so WASPy, he was so British musician-y).
