JC Chasez Sabotaged

It's long, and the hostess needs a better mic, but this video pretty much shows the sabotage of JC Chasez with evidence and receipts. It also shows that Justin was lying to them about the "hiatus". The interview at 32:52 is really eye-opening how Jive Records fucked him over.

Oh honey, who cares? If he would have made it he would have made it.

by Anonymousreply 1May 15, 2021 5:36 PM

That Justin Tomberlake was a slimy, tiny-cocked, user. Piece of stink

R2: Beyond him, that interview with the fan just floors me. Once Jive was sold, they made sure JC failed. I wish he pushed back on them more.

This theory is so old and JC fans need to get over it. JC's lack of solo success wasn't due to being sabotaged. He just wasn't marketable and he didn't have the "it factor". Pop music is a capitalist industry and the record label didn't feel JC was a good investment. He was older, lacked the charisma and cockiness and even if Jive didn't give him awful songs, I don't think he could have held his own against Usher, Eminem or Timberlake. Anyway, "Schizophrenic" is a good album in my opinion and will become a cult classic despite the awful lyrics. The production is amazing on it

R4: You do know that he didn't want Some Girls Dance With Other Girls as the single, right? You did watch the video and see that Jive was told it was a joke song, not the main one that the album should pivot on.

JC would have had more success if he was debuted as a solo artist in the early to mid 90s or earlier. He would have fit right in the adult contemporary era of Celine, Michael Bolton, Mariah and Whitney. Imagine if he turned down NSYNC and got lucky with a record contract for a solo career. We might have been spared NSYNC and Justin Timberlake.

I’ll never understand the hideous, regressive moment where we went from real musicians and bands to utter shit soundalike pop from Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, Britney, etc. sure, there’s a minor fun factor to this music but… god, what a bizarre shift.

by Anonymousreply 7May 15, 2021 9:48 PM

R5 That doesn't negate anything I said. JC had the voice and talent but he wasn't marketable for the time period when he wanted to go solo. The early 2000s was easily the worst period for any pop artist that was an actual singer or musician. This was the period of Britney, Gwen Stefani, Timberlake, Ashlee, Ciara, etc. Hell, if JC made a comeback in the late 2000s or early 2010s, he could have had a better shot since that was when Adele, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran starting taking off, so authenticity and actual talent became marketable again.

R6: 90s gaylings such as myself are hissing at you at this very moment. How very dare you try to take THIS away from us. How very dare!!

Justin was only hot in Friends with Benefits and that 2003 Rolling Stone cover.

JC looked good but he always had the dumbest hairstyles and weird fashion tastes. I think he has a classic Hollywood type of handsome face: clear eyes, marble white skin, nice jaw and cheekbones. I find it very odd how Disney didn't try to develop any of the 90s Mousketeers into solo artists or actors under their branding. Many of them had to wait years to get signed on by some other label or pursue acting in shows and movies. It's odd because Disney had no issue developing stars in the 50s, 60s and 70s and throughout the 2000s and 2010s under their name.

R13: I guess all the money went into buying ABC in the 1990s....

by Anonymousreply 14May 15, 2021 11:21 PM

Jc always struggled because he was closeted and never settled on an image. He also always seemed introverted. Justin is also closeted but he was much more comfortable on stage and being a star.

R15: Now you're bringing up the great Lance/Justin Speculation Thread of Summer 2020. That was a great thread, despite the Disney hijackings in the middle of it.

I still maintain something happened between Lance and Justin. When J/O Buddys Break Up or something.

R16 come on, now. JC could do way better than that. Especially back then, when Justin was just a spotty greasy annoying little rat-faced teen, obsessed with junk food and hip-hop. If JC is gay, don’t you think at the height of his popstardon he would have courted a hot man to fuck instead of a homely boy?

by Anonymousreply 17May 15, 2021 11:41 PM

Justin and JC were boyfriends. Lance was always a wannabe

by Anonymousreply 18May 15, 2021 11:46 PM

2 DLers listen to some JC and comment.
