Someone just posted it on YouTube a couple of days ago, recorded from a San Francisco public access channel. Even with those droney vocals, she had just the right amount of charisma plus crazy, even back then. Faith No More starts at the 55:00 mark.
Footage surfaces of Courtney Love singing with Faith No More circa 1984

"God's not dead. No, he lives in an espresso bar!"

Wow, I wasn't convinced this even happened, this is insane.
She was only 20 but had already lived in several countries, been a taxi dancer, stripper and briefly worked in wardrobe at Paramount by this time.

Just to continue on from this, the video below discusses what Courtney did next, from 1984 onwards, mainly focused around her relationship with Kat Bjelland of Babes in Toyland:

R3 she has truly had one of the craziest, most fascinating lives of any living celebrity today. Her pre-fame life, from childhood to her late-20s, is—in some ways, at least—more interesting than the life she has had as a public figure.

Was discussing this with friends the other night. Our takeaways were, if FNM had stayed with this sound we might have been into them and Courtney is giving some Siouxsie vibes.

Ok but the bigger question is why did we need FNM when we already had the superior Blind Melon?

Are Faith No More generally disliked? I always thought people liked them - I don't know a lot of their songs, but "Ashes to Ashes" and "Evidence" are really great (hearing those songs at age 12? 13? was the first inkling I had that I was going to be more of an alternative music teen than a pop one). And Mike Patton could be very good looking sometimes, I see that more so in hindsight than at the time. One of my close friends as a teen looked like him funnily enough. I also appreciate that he's one of those people who love experimenting with their voice.

Who’s behalf are we to be upset about and is one canceling out the other for being involved with them?
