As a former Israeli soldier Gal is being targeted.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 15, 2021 7:07 AM |
Knew this would kill Gals career, Hollywood is run by Jews but the vast majority of the world are not fans of the chosen people.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 15, 2021 7:13 AM |
My my did dc choose choices to portray their heroes, jew nazi gal, woman beating Miller, alcoholic moob loser asslick etc...
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 15, 2021 7:14 AM |
That's the comment she made? I agree that's not particularly controversial - it sounds like she's for a two-state compromise, and peace.. She's Israeli too so you can't expect her to turn her back completely on her country.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 15, 2021 7:20 AM |
R6, you forgot the homophobic self-hating closet case Cavill.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 15, 2021 7:25 AM |
The OP missed the word "allegedly" when copy and pasting from the original article.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 15, 2021 7:31 AM |
The biggest problem people have is Gal doesn't write Palestine, she just refers to it.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 15, 2021 7:34 AM |
R7 I agree that is not a "controversial" comment in the slightest, it is entirely reasonable. If she said she wanted to see the Palestinians wiped out, then yes that would be controversial (not to mention wrong). Like most Israelis bar the extremist nutters, she wants a two state solution, its a pity the Palestinian leadership doesnt feel the same way
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 15, 2021 7:36 AM |
They would have a problem with her no matter what, this has been going since she was cast, these people don't believe Israel should exist, so anything she said would've been met with hostility.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 15, 2021 7:37 AM |
People hate Gal Gadot because she's an attractive, successful and unapologetic Jew.
She's also an Israeli Jew which makes her even worse.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 15, 2021 7:44 AM |
Natalie who is also an Israeli jewess is smart, never opens her yap on this subject.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 15, 2021 7:57 AM |
Natalie is American first and foremost, and she is quite critical of Israel, from what I've heard.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 15, 2021 7:59 AM |
Team Gal!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 15, 2021 8:00 AM |
Natalie Portman was born to American Jews living in Israel, she's spent most of her life living in the US and regularly criticises Netanyahu.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 15, 2021 8:00 AM |
Natalie came out against Netanyahu recently but she doesn't disagree with the idea of Israel.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 15, 2021 8:01 AM |
I do like that Gal Gadot never changed her name.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 15, 2021 8:02 AM |
her name has an Old Hollywood feel to it - and yes, I pronounce it the wrong way - Gad-Oh
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 15, 2021 8:06 AM |
[quote]The OP missed the word "allegedly" when copy and pasting from the original article.
DLers LOVE to ignore qualifiers. It gives them even more reason to spew vitriol and ignorance.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 15, 2021 8:06 AM |
Gal Gadot has supported two state solution previously as well. I don't understand what people want from her. She is a movie star afterall. It's not like she can single handedly establish world peace, can she? They created a stink about Cleopatra casting too.
I think some of these people go out of their way to criticize her so they won't be labelled Islamophobic by barely educated idiots on twitter.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 15, 2021 8:17 AM |
Maybe this is what Joss Whedon meant when he said he would destroy her career.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 15, 2021 8:17 AM |
R23 Did he really say that?!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 15, 2021 8:20 AM |
It is over for Gal.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 15, 2021 8:21 AM |
[quote]I agree that is not a "controversial" comment in the slightest, it is entirely reasonable
This is kind of long and complicated so let me try and summarize it.
She was in the Israeli Defense Forces and some people see them as evil. She was even an instructor.
She had no choice, that is what was expected of her.
She was even in a Women of the Israeli Defense Forces Maxim photoshoot and was a former Miss Israel.
Previously she posted this quote to Facebook
[quote]“I am sending my love and prayers to my fellow Israeli citizens,” she wrote. “Especially to all the boys and girls who are risking their lives protecting my country against the horrific acts conducted by Hamas, who are hiding like cowards behind women and children...We shall overcome!!! Shabbat Shalom! #weareright #freegazafromhamas #stopterror #coexistance #loveidf”
So no matter what she comments people will attack her because they already believe they have an idea of how she really feels. To them, it's not a "both sides" living in peace issue side by side issue. To them only one side is the problem.
It would be best if she said nothing at all because may people already hate her.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 15, 2021 8:22 AM |
When the Cleopatra film was announced Gadot was derided as being a Ashkenazi Jew and therefore not authentically Israeli. Her maternal grandfather survived Auschwitz, unlike other members of his family, so that immediately makes her a colonist/settler, despite her father's family having lived in Israel for generations, before it was officially Israel.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 15, 2021 8:23 AM |
I can't believe I'm actually rooting for the new Cleo film to be a success, all because of what an insanely spiteful reaction news of Gal Gadot's casting received.

Fuck Brie Larson is a sanctimonious cunt.
Larson should be cancelled for the disgusting state of her feet for a start.

Average looking Jewess. Nothing special.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 15, 2021 8:38 AM |

R24 Yes and she said she had it dealt with, rumour is she went to Patty Jenkins and they teamed up and went crazy at the head of Warner.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 15, 2021 8:51 AM |
Brie Larson is so basic. And she's trying to raise her star because she's so boring AF. That's all i'm saying about this. AWG opinion, wtf does she even know?
Not on anybody's side, but Brie Larson just needs to shut up for a bit. She's tipping her toe into Demi Lovato territory.

R35 Found the jew.

LOL r36 i'm agnostic and was raised with absolutely no religion from my hippy parents (who were also not Jewish but raised as Christian and Fundie Christians). Although i was raised to read about Hinduism and Buddhism. We never attended any religious services.
Wrong!

Noam Chomsky on the two-state solution regarding Israel and Palestine.

[quote]these people don't believe Israel should exist
The vast majority of people opposed to Israel's actions against Palestine absolutely DO believe it should exist, they just want Israel to stop the hostilities. Israel blocked off part of the Old City's Damascus Gate during Ramadan, meaning Muslims couldn't gather there as usual, and even when they backed off they then started threatening to evict Palestinians from a neighborhood in Jerusalem, claiming it's just some everyday real estate dispute, but it's obviously not.
Israel has been making moves like this for decades. No, it's not appropriate to retaliate with bombs as Hamas did, but it's strange that on Datalounge, where literally every situation or crime or event is met with "well what did they THINK was going to happen?" that so few say it about Israel.
Israel started messing with Palestinians during Ramadan. What did they THINK was going to happen?
There's some concern that Israel's government does these things on purpose to goad Hamas into attacking, so they then can attack in retaliation with their obviously superior military.
No one except the most extreme antisemites want Israel to cease to exist. This isn't the fault of Jews or Israelis, it's the fault of a far-right government and extremists, who are the vast minority. Israel NEEDS to exist. They don't need to keep pulling stunts like they do, just to cause armed conflict.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 15, 2021 9:08 AM |
Brie hasn't given her opinion though, she just reportedly unfollowed Gal after Gal's statement. That's it.
I swear, no one reads the articles anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 15, 2021 9:09 AM |
Good point, r42.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 15, 2021 9:11 AM |
We need to support an 2 state solution for Peace between Israel and Palestine. We need a cease fire, peace treaty and move to a 2 state solution.
Do not get drawn into twitter wars to fuel the fires of war, instead support concrete policies for peace.
Again here is Noam Chomsky, who is a long time expert.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 15, 2021 9:14 AM |
[quote]No one except the most extreme antisemites want Israel to cease to exist. This isn't the fault of Jews or Israelis, it's the fault of a far-right government and extremists, who are the vast minority. Israel NEEDS to exist.
Plenty of people on the left of politics who call themselves progressives want Israel to cease to exist. They don't think Jews should have any right to self determination and think Jews are white European colonial settlers who have no history in the region.
There are many people who view the creation of Israel as an absolute catastrophe and obsess about what should have happened in a way that simply doesn't happen with the creation of Pakistan, which happened in the same year and also resulted in thousands of deaths, instability and persistent aggression between neighbours.

No more gal pal for Brie.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 15, 2021 9:22 AM |
The comment is not controversial at all
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 15, 2021 9:32 AM |
[quote]Brie hasn't given her opinion though, she just reportedly unfollowed Gal after Gal's statement. That's it.
Unfollowing someone after a statement that is considered by some "controversial" IS a statement.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 15, 2021 9:32 AM |
Don't think Gal will loose her sleep because some resting-bitch-face cunt unfollowed her.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 15, 2021 9:36 AM |
I bet others in the entertainment industry are also going to throw her under the bus

[quote]these people don't believe Israel should exist
[quote]he vast majority of people opposed to Israel's actions against Palestine absolutely DO believe it should exist
Hamas (a proxy of Iran) doesn't believe Israel should exist. Neither does the PA. Neither does Hezbullah in Lebanon (another Iran proxy). And they are the ones that have to prove their power (and earn their keep from Iran) by regularly goading Israel to avoid being perceived as weak and ripe for challenge, keep Iran happy and continue the flow of money and missiles. Hamas lobbing bombs at Israel is a regular occurrence, in addition to arson kites, which caused huge fires all over southern Israel. And just about every single year at this time, Hamas barrages Israeli towns and civilians with their cache of Iran-supplied missiles. Then Israel mobilizes and goes into Gaza, the raison d'etre for goading Israel, because a captured Israeli soldier or three makes for lots of respect, power and shows Iran that they are doing the job they are being paid for.
So no R41, Hamas wasn't reacting to anything in Jerusalem but rather continuing its daily campaign of attacking Israel with the goal liberating "Palestine" from the "Zionist enemy" to establish an Islamic state.
Spare everyone the "Jews are the cause of their own misfortune" Jew hatred.

So that's another recast for DC, they really can't catch a break.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 15, 2021 9:52 AM |
Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel
Since 2001, Palestinian militants have launched thousands of rocket and mortar attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip as part of the continuing Arab–Israeli conflict. The attacks, widely condemned for targeting civilians, have been described as terrorism by the United Nations, the European Union, and Israeli officials, and are defined as war crimes by human rights groups Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. The international community considers indiscriminate attacks on civilian targets to be illegal under international law.

by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 15, 2021 9:59 AM |
Different? No. It's not. Except to those who are completely ignorant of the history of the area.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 15, 2021 10:01 AM |
How does one live in a constant hail of bombs/rockets for so many years? I really don't know all of the history. but it seems to be have been going on so long. i would do whatever it took to leave that situation. i know i don't understand it all.

by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 15, 2021 10:05 AM |
It’s not that she was unfollowed. It’s that she was unfollowed by a very fake and savvy person. Larson has no morals herself but she is very good at knowing how to appear woke as fuck even though she isn’t.

R13 You do know that Anne Boleyn was NOT white?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 15, 2021 10:47 AM |

Didn’t know she was such an adamant BDSer.
The minute the consensus changes, expect fair weather “activists” like Brie to change their tune and ignore their previous stances.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 15, 2021 1:06 PM |
I realize actors have as much right to post their opinions as anyone else. Many feel they have a platform, and they want to use it. I'd probably hire actors who don't.
Brie may find herself hoisted by her own petard.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | May 15, 2021 1:10 PM |
I love stories like these because they spell the end of Twitter. People originally went to Twitter to read candid comments by their favorites celebrities. No intelligent celebrity is going to post anything remotely controversial if he’s smart. Instagram will stay because it’s photos and celebrities can always show this kids, ass, dick, tits, etc to great admiration.
