Because mouth breathing , selfish people are hoarding and panic buying. I am sitting here in a long line, on empty. I have just been diagnosed with a kidney infection which can be fatal. I may not even be able to get to a pharmacy.

We just paid $3.09/gallon , but I am so relieved bc most stations are out of gas completely.

Got plenty here in California.

THIS IS DEMOCRATS AND JOE BIDEN TRYING TO CONTROL US!!!
(I am obviously making a joke but I saw a similar comment on a Facebook feed, by a real person, not a bot. And it already had several likes)

I expect fighting at the gas pumps any minute. Trump sold this country to Russia.

Fuck you R1. There are people in that line needing to take their children to the doctor.

The Carolinas are out too.
Quit living in these Southern shitholes.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 11, 2021 10:05 PM |
If I could afford to move I would. This state never really shut down and only half, if that , wear masks. They all go to packed churches. Kemp is a fascist criminal and he has the IQ of a goldfish.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 11, 2021 10:11 PM |
Have we all just completely forgotten that people froze to death in Texas a few months ago because they deregulated their power grid? These southern states are reaping what they have sown. Soon parts of Florida will be underwater from rising sea levels.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 11, 2021 10:17 PM |
Someone recorded a stupid woman filling plastic bags with gas and placing them in her trunk! What could go wrong?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 11, 2021 10:20 PM |
It seems to be a little over half democrat here. But the government is the most corrupt state , that is according to Trump, who should know. He said that on one of the recorded calls. Do even though we have more democrats, the republicans cheat in the elections and we can't vote them out.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 11, 2021 10:24 PM |
R13 Please tell me you’re joking?!
Wow, Southerners stay stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 11, 2021 10:24 PM |
That woman may not be a southerner. There are a lot of people from other areas living here.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 11, 2021 10:27 PM |
The guns will come out in 3,2,1. I am in my car at Walgreens looking at the gas station across the street. Heated arguing.

LOL at other east coasters thinking this wont affect them and that it's all due to "deregulation."
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 11, 2021 10:33 PM |
Georgia is such a shithole. They want people to kiss their feet because they finally grew a conscience and voted for the decent candidate.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 11, 2021 10:37 PM |
They are saying this will be over by next week. Ha!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 11, 2021 10:37 PM |
How do we blame this on Ossoff and Warnock?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 11, 2021 10:41 PM |
Pass the Gas!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 11, 2021 10:42 PM |
I remember sitting in long lines in the 70's gas shortages. I guess companies are going to have to revise their pay and benefits to attract more drivers. What a shame! They might actually have to pay people a living wage! Oh noes!
And for the person complaining about 3.09 per gallon, that what it was here in CA 3 years ago. Now it's 3.79 or 4.05 per gallon. But judging by the amount of traffic on our freeways, no one is letting that stop them!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 11, 2021 10:43 PM |
That video is from 2019.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 11, 2021 10:45 PM |

They are here because they are panicking. I barely remember it, but during the Carter Presidency, wasn't there a gasoline shortage? Long lines, fighting. I hope this doesn't last long, but it probably will. The hackers usually demand money, Don't they? Would we pay them?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 11, 2021 10:55 PM |

How could you possibly know that? You're pulling that out of your ass.
[quote] I barely remember it, but during the Carter Presidency, wasn't there a gasoline shortage?
During the Carter and Ford presidencies.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 11, 2021 10:58 PM |
According to the clip at r18, only white people like Ethel merman worked or bought gas at Texaco.
Why did they still do that in the 70s? Didn't they realize yet the time were a-changing?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 11, 2021 11:00 PM |
[quote] LOL at other east coasters thinking this wont affect them and that it's all due to "deregulation."
No R19, LOL at you. Many of these companies do not want any sort of government regulation telling them that they might want to run computer software that is slightly newer than Windows 95. It's a matter of national security, but many of these companies are run by Republican businessmen that think they know better.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 11, 2021 11:04 PM |
South Carolina is running out to. Gas stations in my city are shutting down. I filled up on friday, so I'm fine. I think lots of people are panicked buying and topping off, which is making it 100 times worse.
Biden really needs to make hay of this. This is why we need to upgrade our infrastructure. Infrastructure isn't just roads or bridges, it's also security for our pipelines.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 11, 2021 11:09 PM |
R32- It was on PBS radio, dickhead.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 11, 2021 11:12 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 11, 2021 11:15 PM |
Just curious, what exactly happened to the pipeline? I know it got hacked but did they shut if off? The oil is still in there right?

[quote] Just curious, what exactly happened to the pipeline?
Apparently it can’t function without computers. The hackers locked up their computers and demanded a ransom to unlock them. The pipeline is still not functioning as of today, the company “hopes to get it restored by the end of the week.” Biden (Psaki actually) was asked about whether the administration would approve of them paying the ransom. The response was ‘they’ve gotta do what they gotta do.’
4 states have declared states of emergency.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 11, 2021 11:41 PM |
All the time, money, and manpower spent on banning abortion and gaming the election, this fucked-up fiasco of a hacking is serving the state governments right up the cuntbone. OMG!!! I can't stop cackling.

R38- I don't drink. It happens with MS and a small opening to the bladder.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 11, 2021 11:49 PM |
The hackers must be demanding money, that is what they do, right?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 11, 2021 11:52 PM |
If this is how it really happened, then the company's employee/employees must be really stupid or be in on the hack themselves.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 12, 2021 12:28 AM |
Trump sold all of our security codes to Putin, maybe North Korea and China. Whichever was the highest bidder. And he walks free to damage us some more.

by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 12, 2021 8:55 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 12, 2021 9:12 PM |
And how many of these fools BURN GAS with their engine idling while they wait in line for hours to top off the tank?
This is the idiocracy.

[quote]PS - Alcoholism is associated with kidney infections. Maybe you should cut down. Try water. Old people not getting enough water is the leading cause of those infections. Also cancer and sepsis.
I visited a nephrologist last week because staph had been detected in my kidneys. I asked about both alcohol and dehydration as causes of kidney disease and he said most likely not. He said it's probably left over from some other infection and I'm on antibiotics.
Sorry to go OT, but r38 seems misinformed.
