Are you running out of Zoom outfits? ๐Ÿ‘”๐Ÿ‘–๐Ÿ‘š๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘•๐Ÿ‘ž๐ŸŽฉ

With the onslaught of daily Zoom meetings, people working from home have found that theyโ€™re running out of Zoom outfits. Working from home is great but this new wrinkle complicates things. There are only so many combinations you could make with the pieces on hand.

โ€œIโ€™ve worn every combination of clothes I could think of but Iโ€™m running out of options. I might have to finally set foot in a The GAP after a year of quarantining to update my wardrobe.โ€

Is this a problem for you? What do you do to keep things fresh?

I teach in person now so Iโ€™ve had to be in real dress clothes for a month

by Anonymousreply 1May 10, 2021 6:03 PM

I have always been naked below the waist on Zoom calls and wear the same color shirt each time ( I have many light blue ones).

by Anonymousreply 2May 10, 2021 6:26 PM

I leave my manservant, Jenkins, to attend to such matters. He is an exquisite judge of taste.

by Anonymousreply 3May 10, 2021 6:31 PM

But how is that any different than running out of outfits when you had to be seen in person?

by Anonymousreply 4May 10, 2021 6:35 PM

You donโ€™t have that many Zoom meetings in person.

by Anonymousreply 5May 10, 2021 6:39 PM

I notice people's clothing less on Zoom than in real life

by Anonymousreply 6May 10, 2021 6:41 PM

I wear long sleeve colored T shirts for regular office meetings, but put on more formal shirts for outside meetings.

I have two shirts that I alternate.

I haven't washed them at all since the pandemic.

by Anonymousreply 7May 10, 2021 6:48 PM

I wear comfortable stuff. One great thing about working from home is you don't have to follow pointless rules i.e. dress codes and other things that have nothing to do with what you actually do for work.

by Anonymousreply 8May 10, 2021 6:51 PM

I wear

earrings

Caftans!

by Anonymousreply 9May 10, 2021 6:59 PM

I'll be going back into the office for 2-3 days a week from June (new company-wide 6-month trial, nobody working full-time in the office). I don't know how I will cope with this "pants obligatory" rule they are insisting on.

by Anonymousreply 10May 10, 2021 7:28 PM

I have a lightweight black polo-neck sweater that I keep on a shelf near my desk.

I pull it on over whatever t-shirt I have on just before a zoom call.

No one notices what men are wearing.

by Anonymousreply 11May 10, 2021 7:46 PM

Youโ€™re wrong. I notice what all my men co-workers are wearing and if they repeat. Sometimes Iโ€™ll yell out โ€œTwinsies!!โ€ if I see two wearing the same thing.

by Anonymousreply 12May 10, 2021 8:19 PM

I shriek and pull out my hair

by Anonymousreply 13May 10, 2021 8:34 PM

People donโ€™t notice youโ€™re always wearing the same black polo neck sweater every day?

by Anonymousreply 14August 17, 2021 11:45 PM

This. Is. Pathetic.

Itโ€™s not like theyโ€™re in jail and have to wear the same prison garb all the time. Just order a shirt/sweater/jacket you already like from the same manufacturer, online, in a new color.

How much hand holding do people need???

by Anonymousreply 15August 18, 2021 12:00 AM

Yes, I wasnโ€™t expecting forgiveness!

by Anonymousreply 16August 18, 2021 12:09 AM

THANK YOU R4.

If I worked with you I would have to strangle you with my bare hands and leave your body for the janitor to take care of.

by Anonymousreply 18August 18, 2021 1:02 AM

You'd totally get fired, R18

by Anonymousreply 19August 18, 2021 1:13 AM

I could not be bothered knowing what any of my colleagues are wearing - either through Zoom or in person. I doubt I would even notice if they were naked.

by Anonymousreply 20August 18, 2021 1:15 AM

Can we all return to the agenda, please? R20, you weโ€™re going to bring us up to speed on Item 3โ€ฆ

by Anonymousreply 21August 18, 2021 1:23 AM

LOL @ R21. I am pretty agenda driven...just the facts please.

by Anonymousreply 22August 18, 2021 1:26 AM

Why couldnโ€™t I have worked with you, R20?

by Anonymousreply 23August 18, 2021 1:27 AM

I emailed everyone some last minute thoughts right before the meeting. Did everyone receive than?

^^ THEM. Not โ€œthanโ€.

I need Tad from IT to turn off my autocorrect.

(This was mentioned last week. Can someone follow up?)

by Anonymousreply 25August 18, 2021 1:32 AM

I now use a really shitty Zoom lense and no one can tell.

by Anonymousreply 26August 18, 2021 1:35 AM

Not on the agenda, butโ€ฆ why isnโ€™t there an app that can change your business attire for online meetings? Iโ€™m thinking focusing on changing garment colors would be an easy place to start.

Maybe we create a capsule collection of classic white work clothes that could work for this endeavor, and exciting new technology.

R20 - please invent this and get back to us.

I'm sensing a Gap store playlist guy thread here...

I donโ€™t even understand the question. I have worn the same shirt since I came home to work in March 2020.

by Anonymousreply 30August 18, 2021 1:58 AM

"What do you do to keep things fresh?"

I douche, frequently.

by Anonymousreply 31August 18, 2021 2:02 AM

More to the point, shave.

by Anonymousreply 32August 18, 2021 2:04 AM

Cheryl has never douched a day in her life

by Anonymousreply 33August 18, 2021 2:07 AM

I zoom naked and use a Photoshop app to add clothing.

by Anonymousreply 34August 18, 2021 2:10 AM

What if the app malfunctions?

I wear only white shirts. Clean, crisp. No question about wearing the same clothes. I look good in white too.

by Anonymousreply 37August 18, 2021 3:01 AM

If you had a job before how could you possibly be running out of business attire? I have so many fucking business jackets it's pathetic.

I started cleaning out closets recently and I found even more clothes I forgot I had.

by Anonymousreply 38August 18, 2021 3:18 AM

Because you never had this many Zoom meetings before.

by Anonymousreply 39August 18, 2021 3:28 AM

Your average DLer on a Zoom meeting....
