ABC previously had David Kerley covering aviation, although I don't think they ever called him the "aviation correspondent" or even the "transportation correspondent." They just said Kerley covers aviation.

Last year, suddenly David Kerley was out and Gio Benitez was in with the new title of "transportation correspondent." Not sure whether what happened there , whether Kerley was fired or quit or moved to cover some other subject for ABC. I haven't seen him on air since early 2020.

Anyway, Gio was promoted to Transportation Correspondent in April 2020 and within a few weeks, he and spouse Tommy DiDario moved to a much larger apartment/condo. So, clearly a bump in salary came with the promotion.

Despite the salary increase, Gio somehow couldn't afford a properly fitting sports coat for the interview with Pete. The sports coat Gio wore was rather tight on him.
