I'm very sad to read this, he sounds like a good young man. Thank you for posting. May his memory be a blessing.

Any pictures of the top?

I was told only the old and obese die of Covid.

This is why you shouldn't live in a shithole country

More and more younger healthy people are dying from COVID.

Sad. He seemed like a good guy

The OP's article is behind a registration/pay wall.
I wonder what this person actually did to be described as 'an activist'?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 6, 2021 11:19 PM |
R13
He probably held up a sign at a rally once. It doesn’t take much actual activism to label yourself an activist nowadays. Didn’t he move to India?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 6, 2021 11:28 PM |
So, he was "Just Jack"?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 6, 2021 11:31 PM |
That is the most attractive photo ever taken of this poor guy, and it was taken at least 10 years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 6, 2021 11:33 PM |
The whole "gay" lede is off-putting. I wonder why they focused on that. He seems to have lived a hellish childhood:

This is sad but this is a dangerous strain
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 6, 2021 11:35 PM |
Can you imagine this happening to you when you were 9 years old?
James Robert Williams was born on June 30, 1985, in Florence, in northwest Alabama, and grew up in nearby St. Florian. His mother, Kay (Carter) Williams, was a schoolteacher. His father, Paul Kenneth Williams, a former Marine who served in the Vietnam War, was an I.R.S. agent.
James’s mother died in a car accident in 1992, and his father committed suicide in 1995. Jim, 9, and John, 11, went to live with their father’s sister, Sharon Alexander, a volunteer for nonprofits, and her husband, Bill Alexander, a financial executive, in East Amherst, N.Y., near Buffalo.

He really had it rough: "James’s mother died in a car accident in 1992, and his father committed suicide in 1995."
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 6, 2021 11:37 PM |
What a shame. All he had to do was fly home to the US and get a vaccine. Our government and military bust their asses to give us some privileges , he should have taken advantage of the vaccine opportunities in the US.

r19 r20 Type faster, bitches.

This new variant is terrifying. One of my old co-workers had 5 of her cousins die and they were 25 to 36 years old. They were only sick a week.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 6, 2021 11:41 PM |
His poor brother
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 6, 2021 11:42 PM |
Man. This is such a sad story. Gay kid growing up in Alabama, both parents die when he is a child. He takes a chance on life to move to India with a guy he meets and then this happens.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 6, 2021 11:43 PM |
He should have brought the boyfriend to America. Problem solved, everyone survives.
He takes a chance on life to move to India
Why?
India attracts madness— ie big sister Prudence Farrow.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 6, 2021 11:45 PM |
It's odd to me they are using a picture from 2011 though, that is 10 years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 6, 2021 11:48 PM |
The trans brigade is here to celebrate the deceased gay guy.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 6, 2021 11:51 PM |
Were there any... co-morbidities (and please be discreet)?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 6, 2021 11:52 PM |
R29 The more recent picture are less appealing.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 6, 2021 11:53 PM |
R21 "All he had to do was fly home to the US and get a vaccine." That would have meant abandoning his partner. And current entry restrictions would almost certainly have made return to India difficult if not impossible. Plus, right or wrong most people that age don't feel they're at mortal risk from Covid.
One of my old co-workers had 5 of her cousins die and they were 25 to 36 years old.
That's a lotta stuff to have. Bet there's a few decent items among all the crap.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 7, 2021 12:19 AM |
Can't get past the paywall. So what did this guy achieve that merits a nyt obit?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 7, 2021 8:37 AM |
Wait, someone [italic]willingly[/italic] moved to India?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 7, 2021 10:23 AM |
Thanks r38. So whoever selected the pic really wanted to hide that he gained weight so went with this very old picture.
He should have brought the boyfriend to America. Problem solved, everyone survives.
According to the article, he was trying, now that his bf was a fiance
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 7, 2021 2:45 PM |
That's quite the tragedy.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 7, 2021 2:51 PM |
Double whammy for them. Last here when 500k died in the US and this year when 500k in India - and counting.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 8, 2021 3:34 AM |
Who moves to India? For a bottom?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 8, 2021 3:52 AM |
Looks like a sweet guy who had a hard life. RIP.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 13, 2021 8:22 PM |
R4 Good thing he got out of American then.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 13, 2021 8:24 PM |
I wonder if his body was shipped back to relatives in the US or burned outside in a fire pit like all the other Covid bodies in India.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 13, 2021 8:29 PM |
What do you hope for R45? Burned?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 13, 2021 8:33 PM |
