Is it trashy to be into reality-TV and social-media "celebrities"?

Reality TV is trashy, not necessarily social media.
Is the OP special needs?

[quote]Yeah, it may be trashy, but who really cares?
It's arguable that there's no more "elevated" pop culture to follow these days. Movies for adults are basically dead. The recent, much-heralded "golden age of TV" is over, according to some people. There's tons more to watch, and more places to watch it, but less of it is worth the effort. And who can keep track of these interchangeable faces and names?
So there aren't really new "celebrities" outside of reality and social media. Those trashy IG and TikTok people are what we have instead of stars these days.

Early reality TV was not trashy, IMO. It was interesting and could be very funny.
To start crushing on and stan-ing for someone who is only famous on Instagram is trashy. (As compared to getting interested in someone's IG due to their other accomplishments. Yes, Mary!)

I heard years ago that reality TV started in the UK and was headed our way. My problem with it is the level many will go to shock the public. It appears porn or an only fans will be on Netflix next..
