I have recently re-discovered the joy of freshly ground black pepper. Sure it's a basic spice but it makes pasta and salads amazing and enhances frozen foods.

I'll give you my secret: Whole Foods Allegro spices
They are premixed blends for a range of foods from Provençal to Tandoori to Chipotle.
The bags are about $3 so you can sample at will.
