I have recently re-discovered the joy of freshly ground black pepper. Sure it's a basic spice but it makes pasta and salads amazing and enhances frozen foods.
What spices (or spice blends) are your go-to for adding immediate and delicious flavor?

Technically, salt is not a spice since spices come from plants.

Penzey's has the best most amazing blends. Check them out. They will make you look like a genius chef.

I only use salt from the best salt plants, R3. People will be talking about delicious salt plants for years to come.

I'll give you my secret: Whole Foods Allegro spices
They are premixed blends for a range of foods from Provençal to Tandoori to Chipotle.
The bags are about $3 so you can sample at will.

I was about to post anything from Penzeys. I fucked up thinking I was using Tsardust Memories on some pork chops and instead used the Chicago Steak and they were so good. A new favorite

Ooh, good suggestion r5. Maybe I'll get one of their trial bags for my mom for Mother's Day (and one for myself).

Penzeys looks similar to Allegro but with a bigger selection. Thanks R5

Penzey's has gift packs with blends. I got some as a gift, and used them and it makes a huge difference.
