Californians, what did Gavin Newsom do to piss you guys off?

Why are you going through all of this mess?

by Anonymousreply 260May 12, 2021 4:33 PM

Ask the piece of shit, redneck, Trumptards in the desert. I think he's a fantastic governor.

by Anonymousreply 1April 28, 2021 1:32 AM

shut the schools while his kids got private in-person education

by Anonymousreply 2April 28, 2021 1:34 AM

I think they're flipping out about the Covid restrictions over the past year...anti-masker crybaby nonsense.

by Anonymousreply 3April 28, 2021 1:34 AM

He does the exact opposite of what he preaches. Also, his restrictive lockdowns are ineffective and are destroying small businesses in California. California is now a total shithole and will take years to come back.

by Anonymousreply 4April 28, 2021 1:36 AM

Repug grab for the state.

by Anonymousreply 5April 28, 2021 1:37 AM

I moved to San Francisco in 2018 from LA and people here seem to actively dislike him, and I’ve never really received a clear explanation as to why they feel that way. It’s odd.

by Anonymousreply 6April 28, 2021 1:37 AM

He's too goodlooking.

by Anonymousreply 7April 28, 2021 1:38 AM

The recall process commenced in Feb, before Newsom did anything in response to COVID-19 (the Calif shutdown didn't start until mid-March). The text of the recall petition says nothing about that subject:

"The grounds for this recall are as Follows: Governor Newsom has implemented laws which are detrimental to the citizens of this state and our way of life. Laws he endorsed favor foreign nationals, in our country illegally, over that of our own citizens. People in this state suffer the highest taxes in the nation, the highest homelessness rates, and the lowest quality of life as a result. He has imposed sanctuary state status and fails to enforce immigration laws. He unilaterally over-ruled the will of the people regarding the death penalty. He seeks to impose additional burdens on our state by the following; removing the protections of Proposition 13, rationing our water use, increasing taxes and restricting parental rights. Having no other recourse, we the people have come together to take this action, remedy these misdeeds and prevent further injustices."

by Anonymousreply 8April 28, 2021 1:39 AM

Regardless of the recall election outcome, his political career is over. If he gets recalled as a democratic governor of a democratic state, he’s definitely ovah. But even if he doesn’t, nobody likes him and that would make any future presidential run pointless.

by Anonymousreply 9April 28, 2021 1:41 AM

Most of us are not pissed off. Our state is so large that there are actually more Trump lovers here than in many red states.

by Anonymousreply 10April 28, 2021 1:43 AM

California has the country’s lowest new case rate. Fuck off r4.

by Anonymousreply 11April 28, 2021 1:43 AM

Wait until the electric blackouts and out of control forest fires begin this Summer. He's outta there. He should resign immediately.

by Anonymousreply 12April 28, 2021 1:45 AM

R11: Homelessness and crime are way up in California. The fact is nobody likes him in California and he’s going to get recalled. So no why don’t you fuck off you woke, far left liberal looney asshole.

by Anonymousreply 13April 28, 2021 1:45 AM

He made me wear a socialist mask!!

by Anonymousreply 14April 28, 2021 1:46 AM

Yep, I wondered that too. There was a pandemic. COVID. Too many people, not enough housing. Infrastructure crushing under the weight of too many people. These problems have been ongoing before his time. Fires and grid problems. Do Californians think he can snap his fingers and BAM, problems solved?

by Anonymousreply 15April 28, 2021 1:47 AM

Letting trans into women’s prisons without a second thought.

by Anonymousreply 16April 28, 2021 1:48 AM

I live in California. Newsom has solid approval ratings. Most people hate the GQP way more than they dislike mask mandates and SIP.

You’re a fucking moron, r13. Now go whack off to your poster of Josh Hawley.

by Anonymousreply 17April 28, 2021 1:49 AM

Gavin was a complete hypocrite in more ways than one. Example: He told people shouldn't congregate together in large numbers or eat in restaurants while he and 30 plus elites ate at a fancy French restaurant. California businesses are destroyed and students missed out on a year and a half of education.

by Anonymousreply 18April 28, 2021 1:49 AM

If he is recalled, does the Lieutenant Governor takeover until the next election?

by Anonymousreply 19April 28, 2021 1:50 AM

R6, it’s because SF is full of people who are more left-wing than Newsom is.

by Anonymousreply 20April 28, 2021 1:50 AM

R17: No you’re a fucking moron! The man is a tyrant. He’s kept Californians in draconian lockdown for over a year while he’s out eating sans masks and social distancing, destroyed small businesses, and kept kids trapped in Zoom school.

by Anonymousreply 21April 28, 2021 1:52 AM

I loathed him the minute he put a moratorium on the death penalty. Who the fuck is he to decide that for the people?!

Starting with Brown and continuing with him, our taxes are OUT OF CONTROL (income, sales, gas).

Gas prices are sky high at over $4 a gallon.

He’s a hypocrite who dined out with lobbyists and kept his winery open while thousands of small businesses were forced to close and many never recovered.

He kept his kids in their fancy private schools while public school kids were forced to “learn from home.”

He’s continuing Brown’s rail to nowhere. What was supposed to be a SF to LA project is now Merced to fucking Palmdale. After approval, taxpayers were told “oops, we can’t do SF to LA, tee hee.” Started as a $33B project, is now a $100B project. A bloated, pork barrel initiative if ever there was one. Where’s the money, Jerry and Gavin?

Homelessness and crime out of control. Has no solutions.

No forest management plan. Expect raging wildfires year after year.

He’s a cocksucking, alcoholic Getty shill who fucked his best friend’s wife. Morals of a slimy cockroach. Not that it’s of any political importance, but shows you what kind of scumbag he is.

And 38% of the signatories that want him recalled are Democrats and Independents. Hope he’s shitting his pants.

by Anonymousreply 22April 28, 2021 1:53 AM

Governor Caitlyn is going to be amazing. Uncooperative legislators will get a taste of her Lexus!

by Anonymousreply 23April 28, 2021 1:53 AM

Hey republican Nazi authoritarian lovers--if you don't like the elected governor, have your party nominate a candidate that can actually govern and get elected. Or better yet, move to Texas. Stop fucking up our state with your fascist Nazi minority redneck bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 24April 28, 2021 1:54 AM

Still not leak any dick pics.

by Anonymousreply 25April 28, 2021 1:55 AM

[quote]And 38% of the signatories that want him recalled are Democrats and Independents. Hope he’s shitting his pants.

Thanks for passing on the Trumpista talking points, dipshit.

He's not getting recalled, btw.

by Anonymousreply 26April 28, 2021 1:56 AM

[quote] if you don't like the elected governor, have your party nominate a candidate that can actually govern and get elected

We will, as soon as you people stop stealing elections.

by Anonymousreply 27April 28, 2021 1:58 AM

Maybe he can make it up if he shows his cock and ass.

by Anonymousreply 28April 28, 2021 1:58 AM

He's hot.

by Anonymousreply 29April 28, 2021 2:02 AM

Is he the only mayor who directed City Hall to go ahead and marry same sex couples regardless of what was officially on the books?

That 30 day spree before courts could close the window in 2004 resulted in our country’s first marriage license ever being issued to a same sex couple, and allowed 4,000 other same sex couples to wed in San Francisco.

For that alone I’ll love him FOREVER.

by Anonymousreply 30April 28, 2021 2:04 AM

No, R19. The ballot will have 2 questions: #1/ Should Newsom be recalled? and #2/ If so, which person on the following list should replace him immediately as Gov? In order to get on the list of potential replacements, just show up by the deadline and pay a filing fee of approx $4,000 -- you may have to be an adult and resident of Calif, but you may not have to be a citizen or have a brain. That's how the recall process in Calif works and that's how we got Gov Schwarzenegger when Gray Davis was recalled in 2003.

by Anonymousreply 31April 28, 2021 2:04 AM

“Born and bred” where, r22? Fresno? Bakersfield? San Berdoo? Irvine?

by Anonymousreply 32April 28, 2021 2:07 AM

R22 Los Angeles, asshole. I actually work hard for my money, provide jobs to others and don’t leech off the state. California is being mismanaged at every level and you’d have to be an imbecile not to admit that. It pains me to see my beloved state going straight to shitville.

by Anonymousreply 33April 28, 2021 2:10 AM

If he’s recalled, I will vote for Angelyne as punishment. You may not like him but he hasn’t stolen money, killed someone (Bruce?) or done anything egregiously illegal or dereliction of duty.

by Anonymousreply 36April 28, 2021 2:16 AM

Curious how all those fires happened during the last years of Trump's reign of error...

by Anonymousreply 37April 28, 2021 2:17 AM

Randy Quaid tossed his hat into the ring tonight.

Back on planet Earth, Californians oppose recalling Newsom by 56%.

Looks like the Last Angry White Man in Los Angeles, aka R22, will just have to suffer through a few more years of the brown socialist hellscape.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 38April 28, 2021 2:21 AM

It's because Californians are a bunch of whiny ingrates who only want perfection.

by Anonymousreply 39April 28, 2021 2:22 AM

"Will Newsom survive? Signs currently point to yes. A recent statewide poll found Newsom had a positive job approval rating and that Californian voters would vote to keep him by a double-digit percentile margin. He wielded overwhelming support among Democrats — a critical buffer in a state where Democrats hold all the levers of power and outnumber registered Republicans by nearly five million voters — and led among independent voters who comprise about a quarter of the electorate. He can raise unlimited money from allies.

"Time and trendlines are on Newsom’s side as the state emerges from its long battle with coronavirus. California currently has a relatively low infection rate and Newsom is aiming to broadly reopen the economy by June 15. If he succeeds and voters spend months enjoying relative normalcy before they vote, critics will be deprived of their heaviest cudgel."

by Anonymousreply 40April 28, 2021 2:22 AM

If some Trump cultist DOES manage to convince a plurality of voters (in an all-postal election) to depose Gavin, then as soon as he or she or they is/are in office for 6 months, guess what? Recall time! Again!

by Anonymousreply 41April 28, 2021 2:25 AM

R35 Hell. No.

by Anonymousreply 42April 28, 2021 2:30 AM

That French Laundry thing was kind of annoying.

by Anonymousreply 43April 28, 2021 2:32 AM

Because he took away the people's freedom and made them wear a mask. These fucking Repigs are exhausting. Newson still has a very high approval rating. I hope he defeats this recall. He's a very good governor. And hopefully by the time this appears on the ballot, the pandemic will be far and away in the rear view mirror and the voters will have some perspective.

Regarding going to dinner at the French Laundry, it was a mistake. He apologized. He shouldn't have done it. Plenty of people have violated certain aspects of the lockdown this past year. It's not right, but it certainly IS NOT a reason to recall a governor and remove someone who was elected overwhelmingly.

by Anonymousreply 44April 28, 2021 2:36 AM

He’s got Gargoyle cooties. No cure except recall.

by Anonymousreply 45April 28, 2021 2:37 AM

California is losing a House seat because so many people are fleeing the state. Thanks, Gav!

by Anonymousreply 46April 28, 2021 2:39 AM

by Anonymousreply 50April 28, 2021 2:45 AM

Gavin Newsom exists is a very rare bubble of privilege that creates a real disconnect between his world and that of many Californians. I am not against following science or a mask denier, but when Newsom was clearly making decisions based on politics instead of science, he lost credibility. Businesses has whip lash with the modifications and shit downs. Crime, poverty, and homelessness are out of control, the fires are worse than ever, the taxes, etc. I don't think he'll get recalled but hopefully this will put him at attention.

by Anonymousreply 51April 28, 2021 2:47 AM

I thought tax-dodging Quaid was permanently holed up in Canada.

by Anonymousreply 52April 28, 2021 2:47 AM

He's a great governor during difficult as F*** times.

by Anonymousreply 53April 28, 2021 2:48 AM

The FIRES are his fault? There have been fires burning every year for years. Ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 54April 28, 2021 2:48 AM

Has Suzanne Somers announced yet? Might as well get a full slate of crackpots to choose from.

Free Thigh Masters for all Californians.

by Anonymousreply 55April 28, 2021 2:48 AM

This will backfire on the Repugs as people see how ridiculous they all are

by Anonymousreply 56April 28, 2021 2:50 AM

I'm in LA and I think he's doing a good job.

He's not going anywhere. The recall election is a joke and most of us know it. He will be reelected in a landslide.

by Anonymousreply 57April 28, 2021 2:50 AM

[quote]The FIRES are his fault?

It’s his responsibility to implement a safe forest preservation policy, which he hasn’t done. Executive Order the forests to be properly pruned and that will lessen the dry timber that catches fire.

by Anonymousreply 58April 28, 2021 2:51 AM

Yep, R57.

by Anonymousreply 59April 28, 2021 2:51 AM

A lot of people in LA signed the recall sheet. You could fill it out at places like Fred Segal.

by Anonymousreply 60April 28, 2021 2:52 AM

And what about all those other fires that occurred when he wasn't governor, R58?

by Anonymousreply 61April 28, 2021 2:53 AM

For all the talk about this being all far-right propaganda, I can tell you I am a center-left democrat who signed a recall petition handed to me by a center-left democrat, who had twenty signatures from other democrats.

If you love this guy so much, please tell me why I should be proud (as a democrat) of how he:

1. Provided such stunning leadership during the months where CA was the COVID epicenter of the world (why we are doing well now, everyone got infected)... our ICUs were full and so were the department stores while everyone ignored Newsom. He is not a leader.

2. took care of the $11-20BILLION unemployment fraud (btw we just borrowed that amount from the Feds at interest...) (fyi $20,000,000,000 is how you write that, yup 10 zeros... in fraud)

3. paid $1.7 BILLION ($1,700,000,000) for a COVID19 testing site that was unreliable and now being repurposed for a genetics company's profits.

4. Let First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom convince him that stupidity is in fashion and so went and got that meal that meat at the French Laundry when he could have been leading the state... btw, Nov6th was the day of the dinner AND the start of SoCal's rise to COVID epicentership... great leadership quality

5. His leadership on homelessness that has led to tent cities popping up all over and property owners having to put up fences to keep folks out

6. the bullet train that will not ever run the way it should run. few $BILLION wasted there as well

Flush out your headgear everybody. We just lost an electoral vote because there is so much waste and corruption that taxes are sky-high and everyone says lets just make the idiots keep paying.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to learn from this is to wake up and pay attention to what is happening. Take it seriously and reform or you will have more elections with independents and moderate democrats providing tough love lessons to the ones who are ruining things in CA.

This guy looks like... you know... a Hollywood clown politician.

PEOPLE LOOK INTO THE FACTS AND DON'T JUST BLINDLY VOTE!

by Anonymousreply 66April 28, 2021 2:59 AM

[quote]The fact is nobody likes him in California and he’s going to get recalled. So no why don’t you fuck off you woke, far left liberal looney asshole.

Don't speak for all Californians. I lived in San Francisco while he was on the Board of Supervisors and I have been living in Los Angeles for many years now and I'm a Newsom supporter. But sure, why not recall the man who has done his best to keep California together during the pandemic and elect political giants like Caitlyn Jenner, Randy Quaid and Dr. Mike from "Big Brother". Or another actor like how we got Arnold Schwarzenegger after Gray Davis' recall.

by Anonymousreply 67April 28, 2021 3:04 AM

He allowed Barbra Streisand to have her own private shopping mall. Recall!!

by Anonymousreply 68April 28, 2021 3:06 AM

Not enough Californians have died of COVID. Recall!

by Anonymousreply 69April 28, 2021 3:10 AM

He ordered red wine with his Dover sole at the French Laundry. OUTRAGEOUS!

by Anonymousreply 70April 28, 2021 3:11 AM

Thank you for your support, r66!

by Anonymousreply 71April 28, 2021 3:12 AM

Because the only way a Republican can win a statewide election is via a recall scrum.

No candidate needs a majority. In 2003 there were 50+ candidates on the ballot.

We got Schwarzenegger.

by Anonymousreply 72April 28, 2021 3:13 AM

I don’t support the recall, but he has a smarmy, elitist air about that makes people relish hating him

by Anonymousreply 73April 28, 2021 3:13 AM

[quote]We just lost an electoral vote because there is so much waste and corruption that taxes are sky-high and everyone says lets just make the idiots keep paying.

CA lost an electoral vote because the Trump administration fucked with the census. And "Taxes and spending are too high" are boilerplate GOP talking points from 1996, dear cross-dressing "centrist" "Democrat".

[quote]This guy looks like... you know... a Hollywood clown politician.

Being challenged by...you know...Caitlyn Jenner, Angelynne, and Randy Quaid. Did you have a point?

[quote]The MOST IMPORTANT thing to learn from this is to wake up and pay attention to what is happening.

Y'all don't have the numbers to recall him, and Republican businessmen like you are pissed off. Again, your point?

[quote]Take it seriously and reform or you will have more elections with independents and moderate democrats providing tough love lessons to the ones who are ruining things in CA.

Again, thanks for the GOP talking points. The one thing you can always count on is that California Republicans are too embarrassed to admit who they are.

by Anonymousreply 74April 28, 2021 3:15 AM

There are many reason for Newsom to be recalled: the unemployment fiasco that cost tens of billions of dollars, giving tax dollars to illegal immigrants which will bring thousands more to a place they cannot afford and we don't have the resources to support. The homeless catastrophe that has thousands of people living in tent city shooting galleries where all of the awful situations that go along with addiction are on full display and unavoidable to many because they have taken over entire city blocks. His support of the incredibly reckless DA George Gascon who doesn't seem to care about safe streets as much as he does criminals. The Covid response with thousands of businesses destroyed and guidance changing daily with little direction except "equity?" Governor Newsom's California is being run so recklessly the State motto under his watch should be changed to "home of the lawless and the homeless." I am a Democrat.

by Anonymousreply 75April 28, 2021 3:15 AM

It's a waste of time. He is going to get reelected. Easily.

by Anonymousreply 76April 28, 2021 3:16 AM

Another Repug waste of time and money

by Anonymousreply 77April 28, 2021 3:16 AM

I actually think this is just a typical Republican backed hit job by those Tech bros that hate Democrats and MAGAs out for blood. Their hits against Biden aren; working and DC is boring and working again. So they go after the largest names in state politics; Cuomo in NY and Gavin in CA. They know that Harris is a toss up in 2024 or 2028. Dems putting up another white male only hurts Republicans. These are coordinated attacks. Remember what a posted said above, the Recall petition started before he even shut anything down. They just want to get rid of any white, male, Democratic leader because as Biden has proven if they have an ounce of charisma it's hard for Republican to beat them.

by Anonymousreply 78April 28, 2021 3:17 AM

R74, we lost a member in the House as people are moving out of CA....HARD STOP

by Anonymousreply 79April 28, 2021 3:17 AM

Yet your population is still increasing and this census was done in the most sloppy way possible to suppress the counts in non-white areas. So sick and tired of people blaming Federal problems on states. If people are really leaving at an alarming rate, then you should see rents decrease. Haven't heard of a drastic decrease, but I did hear that it's hard for people to find homes so maybe a few less California wouldn't be a bad thing and he should be commended. You lost a Republican seat, who gives a fuck about one less MAGA from CA?

by Anonymousreply 80April 28, 2021 3:20 AM

[quote] Yep, I wondered that too. There was a pandemic. COVID. Too many people, not enough housing. Infrastructure crushing under the weight of too many people. These problems have been ongoing before his time. Fires and grid problems. Do Californians think he can snap his fingers and BAM, problems solved?

We have problems sure. But most Californians are now smart enough to know that Republicans don't solve problems, they only make them worse. If things are awful now a Republican will make them unbearable. Newsom is safe.

by Anonymousreply 81April 28, 2021 3:23 AM

Is it that skank he used to be with?

[quote] And 38% of the signatories that want him recalled are Democrats and Independents. Hope he’s shitting his pants.

[quote] That 30 day spree before courts could close the window in 2004 resulted in our country’s first marriage license ever being issued to a same sex couple, and allowed 4,000 other same sex couples to wed in San Francisco.

It also resulted in Bush's relection. Newsom was castigated by the Democratic establishment and told he'd never have support for nationwide office because of that reckless stunt.

by Anonymousreply 85April 28, 2021 3:29 AM

ANY state that allows a governor to be recalled will be used as an excuse by the GQP to get rid of a Democrat--it doesn't matter if they've done anything deserving of a recall. They've tried 3 times here in Nevada to do the same, BECAUSE OUR GOVERNOR IS A DEMOCRAT. Anything to win at all costs and retain/grab power. Republicans have turned into a shit party that know they can't win fairly because their ideas suck so they have to cheat/steal elections. Its no more complicated than that.

by Anonymousreply 86April 28, 2021 3:31 AM

by Anonymousreply 98April 28, 2021 3:45 AM

Wrong R9 and others here who proclaim with certainty that Newsom will be recalled. Newsom's approval rating is north of 50%, and 56% of Californians don't support the recall effort. As I said in the related thread...

When Newsom survives this recall, his political career is NOT over. Newsom will emerge from it in a stronger position because he will have withstood a ridiculous, ill-conceived GOP takedown attempt.

And make no mistake, this recall WILL fail. This is not California circa 2003, dealing with the aftermath of what we now know were GOP-subsidiary sponsored rolling electricity blackouts brought to us by now-disgraced and defunct Enron. This recall is also not happening in a relative silo like 2003; rather, it's taking place in a highly visible broader context. Overwhelmingly Democratic California voters are watching this recall effort play out alongside the GOP's efforts in other states to try to structurally swindle themselves into permanent power.

Republicans know they can only win by cheating, hoodwinking, and stirring up white grievance. This recall is merely the California leg of their larger strategy.

With this clown show underway, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see his ex Kimberly Gargoyle or Dipshit Junior would enter the race. Maybe they don't own property in Cally so they wouldn't qualify.

Gargoyle could dance her way into the governor's mansion! Remember to tip your whore, people!

The homeless are coming to LA from everywhere. And the state and local government isn’t doing shit about it. These people are mentally ill and a menace to society. They need homes and hardcore treatment. But the liberal softies only care about the rights of the homeless. Fuck. That.

by Anonymousreply 103April 28, 2021 3:56 AM

We will see R99. If there is a thoughtful campaign/marketing strategy that details and reminds all of his many many many failures, people may think differently.

by Anonymousreply 104April 28, 2021 3:56 AM

R102, I agree. We need to take a different approach instead of just throwing money at they problem while we just encourage others to come to CA for a free ride.

by Anonymousreply 105April 28, 2021 3:58 AM

Yeah, those homeless people--always looking for a free ride.

by Anonymousreply 106April 28, 2021 4:07 AM

by Anonymousreply 107April 28, 2021 4:07 AM

[quote] his many many many failures

R104 Good night, you're clearly dreaming. He's not perfect. Even I -- a former San Francisco voter who's supported him since his first mayoral run -- sometimes question his personal judgment that ricochets back on himself politically (yes, French Laundry). But he's also taken principled risks at crucial and inconvenient times, that have ultimately helped lead the way to change -- namely on marriage equality. That's one huge rebuttal to the claims of his so-called failures.

So bring on the "thoughtful campaign/marketing strategy" of these alleged "failures" -- but do make sure they actually have to do with his JOB performance. Hint: Narratives about screwing his best friend's wife once ~20 years ago, or the poorly conceived dinner at French Laundry for which he owned and apologized, have nothing to do with his JOB performance and judgment in his JOB.

His signature homelessness policy when he was mayor of SF was called “Care Not Cash,” and was exactly what it sounds like. Progressives were outraged.

I know - I was there!

by Anonymousreply 116April 28, 2021 11:43 AM

This smells of a California GOP ploy to have a potent fund-raising issue. And it might be. But it will probably raise more money for the Democrats.

The California voter proposition system is one of the reasons I left California. In six years, I endured one major earthquake, one major fire, and one enormous and disruptive voter proposition. All of it horrible. The recall is not specifically a voter proposition, but it comes from that tradition and rests on that infrastructure. It's garbage. California is an insane place to be.

by Anonymousreply 117April 28, 2021 11:44 AM

R116, remember that the Nazis were Socialists - i.e. a political movement from the left. The Fascists of Germany and Italy had much more in common with modern Democrats.

by Anonymousreply 118April 28, 2021 11:46 AM

For all of you saying this is the GOP: is the GOP strong enough in CA to bring this recall? It has to be more than the GOP, they’re not strong enough in CA.

[quote] For all of you saying this is the GOP: is the GOP strong enough in CA to bring this recall? It has to be more than the GOP, they’re not strong enough in CA.

by Anonymousreply 120April 28, 2021 11:55 AM

Newsom has always seemed like an empty suit, so I guess I am not surprised, but CA has had other recalls in the past - republican & dem governors, yet the place is still a mess. It almost seems like CA should be broken in different sub-states, like the Balkans, since the state is so big & diverse

by Anonymousreply 123April 28, 2021 12:14 PM

He panders. He is phony. He an his wife are rich snobs who pretend to understand the working man’s struggle, but nothing could be further from the truth. He is all about anti-law enforcement, yet he regularly has them patrolling his property to make sure the homeless people don’t get too close to his property. He also has people arrested for protesting in front of his house if they don’t leave after three hours, yet he is all gung ho about them blocking other people’s streets and tearing apart their property. He is a jerk off. The homeless problem is out of control since he took over. That said, the idea of having a Republicunt take over makes me want to vomit.

by Anonymousreply 124April 28, 2021 12:35 PM

Well, keep whining about what an elitist he is, and you just might get your chance to vomit

by Anonymousreply 125April 28, 2021 12:39 PM

I find it interesting that while there is clearly an element of dislike about Newsom (I remember that from when he was mayor of SF), it's hard for people to point to what *exactly* they don't like. Yes, he's a phony and an elitist - he's a politician for gods sake! While he may not have helped them, he inherited a lot of CA's problems & dysfunctions - he didn't create them. As far as the pandemic goes, all governors are guilty of hypocrisy, double standards, backpedaling, etc. to a certain extent. Why was his behavior so egregious?

by Anonymousreply 126April 28, 2021 12:44 PM

R125 “whining” isn’t what is going to get him recalled. You have to sign a petition. Just because a number of Dem voters don’t care for him does not mean that we want him recalled. The Republicunts are the ones pushing for that.

by Anonymousreply 127April 28, 2021 12:47 PM

[quote] As far as the pandemic goes, all governors are guilty of hypocrisy, double standards, backpedaling, etc. to a certain extent. Why was his behavior so egregious?

Because all his actions are just virtue signaling to his base. He cares nothing about California and Californians, except in so far as they can help him advance his career.

He will do absolutely anything, including ignoring the homeless as they die by the thousands on the streets of California's cities, if he thinks it will help him move on to the next stage of his march towards the presidency. Meanwhile, he tosses billions of dollars in public money at his cronies who also do nothing to fix California's problems. Then, these same cronies take these billions and donate them back to his campaign coffers.

by Anonymousreply 128April 28, 2021 12:49 PM

From today's NY Times:

"Already, the state is recovering, as are Mr. Newsom’s approval ratings. A recent poll by the Public Policy Institute of California showed that about 56 percent of likely voters in the state do not support the recall. Unemployment, while high, has fallen steadily, Disneyland is set to reopen on Friday and the rate of new coronavirus cases in California is among the nation’s lowest."

by Anonymousreply 129April 28, 2021 12:52 PM

The recall effort is almost exclusively a Repug thing. Also in the NY Times article:

"The recall effort needed only to tap a portion of the six million Californians who voted to re-elect Donald J. Trump — more Trump voters than even in Texas — to meet the signature qualifications. But actually recalling Mr. Newsom will prove far harder.

"If the blue line of the Democratic Party holds for the governor, the pro-Trump Republican base would be easily outnumbered, and Mr. Newsom has been able to keep Democratic rivals off the recall ballot."

Maybe my reading comprehension is off, but it sounds like a lot of the issues with him are personal style issues and nothing about policy. Some of you have mentioned some policy things, but some of those policy issues seem to be purely partisan best remedied through the normal political process and not recall. But you guys do what you need to.

by Anonymousreply 136April 28, 2021 1:31 PM

The republicans are doing this because they can't win a real election here. I mean the earliest this recall could happen would be in November of 2021. His re-election would be in 2022. I don't really love the job Gavin is doing but would never support a recall so a repug could get in, if even for a year.

by Anonymousreply 137April 28, 2021 1:41 PM

To smear Newsom and put this on the ballot, the GOP only had to collect signatures from 25% of the people who voted for Trump in 2020.

Trump got 34 percent of the total vote in California in 2020. So the GOP only had to get 25% of that already small number. In actual numbers, the GOP only needed just under 1.5 million signatures in a state with 40 million people. The problem here is clear: California's perpetually fucked up government. There is NO WAY that 3.75% of the electorate should be able to create this much chaos for the state. But that's California.

by Anonymousreply 138April 28, 2021 1:47 PM

I’ve heard conservatives in the state railing about recalling Newsom for a long time. Gues how much this could cost the state? $400m. His term is up in 2022. One year. But conservatives want to take over any way they can.

Newsom isn’t perfect and I’m really pissed at him for being hypocritical in some ways during the pandemic, but he also makes a fair amount of good decisions and tried to lead with safety early on when it wasn’t politically popular in our country to do so. A lot of states looked to California for safety measures because our fed govmt didn’t give a shit.

This is a Republicans ploy to get power, as usual. And on Nextdoor, the few but loud Republicans rail about how horrible he is. But they’re just happily wasting more money that our counties don’t have right now as we’re trying to recover from the obdemic in a futile recall effort a year before re-election.

by Anonymousreply 144April 28, 2021 3:45 PM

Newsom's a selfish narcissist and complete hypocrite, as some have already pointed out, because apparently strict safety protocols and lengthy draconian lockdowns don't apply to him and his rich friends. Same with Mayor London Greed. The only reason he has over 50% support in this state regarding the recall effort is because anyone throwing their hat in the ring to run for Gov is a bigger piece of shit (GOP) than Newsom. If a decent candidate went up against Newsom, he'd crash and burn and lose his bid for a second term. Unfortunately, the Dem corporate establishment has a vice grip on the party's strategies and planning.

California is in a gradual decline as more companies and taxpayers move out of state. Our state legislature and local municipalities actively supporting illegal immigration. The linked article describes San Diego County, but the numbers in LA are even worse. 40% of San Diego County’s Medi-Cal births are to illegal immigrants. The state will be in a few years, with burgeoning entitlements in social welfare programs which illegal immigrants qualify for if they have children.

Our state government/ public sector retirement funds are in danger from going insolvent barring federal government bail out in a few years too. The UC system has already made changes to those employees retirement plans, those hired after 2013 and 2016 don’t have the same benefits those of us have under earlier plans. But still these changes won’t matter if state government spends taxpayers’ money like turning on the faucet. On top of getting less for our tax dollars, state legislators are passing laws decriminalizing property and even violent crimes. As a moderate, socially liberal person, typical California Dem voter, it is getting harder to support some of these policies.

I’m not at the recall Newsom stage, but this recall attempt is his own doing. Voters here don’t like hypocrisy, maybe it’s okay for Trumptards but not moderate Dem voters in California. I live in SF where our DA lied about criminal reforms to get elected, then proceeded to let criminals run rampant because as a leftist he doesn’t believe in incarceration but rehabilitation. This is if rehabilitation is even an option as Chesa Boudin’s office doesn’t even charge criminals with crimes.

Every once in awhile I remember to remind people of the following. A lot of people here on the Datalounge and elsewhere online like to remind us that they are Democratic Party members, or centrists, or Black lesbians. Anybody who pulls that shit to gain political points should invoke your immediate suspicion and eye-rolling.

Personally, I never trust or respect a post where the poster talks about their political or ethnic identity, as if that gives them some sort of enhanced relevancy or trustworthiness. Since I can't see the person posting, and I know nothing about them as people, I can't create opinions about sociopolitical ideas based on some strangers' professed identities.

Why? Because only ideas matter. Identities don't matter. They don't. They only serve to divide. If the problem is poor governance, work towards good governance. If the problem is police killing minorities, promulgate ideas towards ending police killing minorities. If the problem is homelessness, create solutions for homelessness. Your political affiliations and skin color are not relevant to these discussions.

At the time when the public school system in CA was shut down to in person classes, all private schools were not subjected to the shut down. It was up to them to decide. That his kids were already attending a private school (as any child of an elected official likely should be for safety reasons) was not hypocritical in the least. I'm not sure why the Right keeps saying that it was. He also was sitting outside at the French Laundry when outdoor dining was permitted at the time where the place is located. He did nothing wrong other than gathering with more people than were recommended but shit, I know many, many folks who did the same privately. I don't understand the outrage about that one incident. It didn't bother me in least. I think his actions in shutting down outdoor dining during the holidays was unnecessary and it sucked having to cancel my Thanksgiving dinner that was going to be outdoors at a restaurant, but I understood that it was to prevent more cases happening. I think he's done a good job so far in CA. I saw a news report where this family left CA for Texas because CA was too restrictive on the mask wearing...and once they moved to Texas they got Covid. And they were so dumb, they didn't connect that it was because of their stupid decision and their outrage about masks that got them sick. Fucking idiots. Hope they all move to Texas.

It was only a major scandal among those that were trying to desperately to foment public outrage in order to fuel the recall effort that was already in motion even before the pandemic. California currently requires far too few signatures to instigate a recall of an elected official. The office of governor is already limited to four year terms. What is the point of a recall without an urgent crisis?

And if there is a genuine crisis, he current California system is too cumbersome to address it. The gathering of signatures, submission of signatures, and qualifying the recall for the ballot takes... well, almost four years. So why, California? Why? The state has a recall system that is simultaneously too easy and too difficult. ONLY California could create a mess like this.

Fix it!

[quote] Actually, it was a major scandal and what pushed the recall effort.... [French Laundry Episode]

I voted for Gavin following years of voting for Jerry Brown.

Although far from perfect, I was fairly satisfied with Brown.

Was hopeful with Gavin, and admittedly he had a great deal on his plate upon arrival: a virulent Trump admin, Climate/Devastation in CA, and homelessness....then the global pandemic occurred which he and everyone else involved in US governing should have seen coming a mile away. (I did in December 2019 and warned family who thought it was “alarmist”. But if others like Jacinda Arden saw it coming and took rational-pandemic-playbook-responses, it was clear it did not require Einstein to discern that what was happening in China would domino around the world. But I digress...)

Gavin seemed okay at the beginning of the pandemic, but as things progressed, I found his governing style disappointing: incredibly so. Even though they were/are exceedingly difficult, found the lockdowns appropriate for the most part in the beginning. However as time went on, what Gavin was SAYING and what Gavin was DOING seemed to be far removed from one another. Can understand missteps as this was a tricky time. But there were many missteps: too many to detail here.

So the trust factor plummeted....during a time when leadership trust was imperative.

Mixed in with this was the infamous French Laundry episode which was a physical symbol of what was occurring on levels of Gavin’s CA governance: hypocrisy and flagrant disrespect of those of his citizens. Which was frankly repulsive given all the chaos and upheaval occurring in CA, the USA and even throughout the world. Many may attempt to dismiss the French Laundry episode; but is sadly representative of how completely out-of-touch someone entrusted to lead one of the world’s largest economies during an unprecedented crisis is.

Add this to Newsome’s oily- rather off-putting - arrogance and his history of excessive alcohol and cocaine use admixed with questionable morality, this has only added to a not-so-pleasant perception of CA’s governor.

For all the “But What About The Republicans!” posters who defend Newsome by comparison, of course Gavin is not in the league of many - if not most - of the sociopathic, sick Trumpistans.

But I am displeased and exceedingly disappointed with someone had faith in to vote into office.

Will I vote against Newsome? No.

But I will NOT vote for him. Ever. Again.

And perhaps this will be a wake up call that his governance has obviously not been all sunshine and rainbows.

Because let’s face it, if the guy had performed decently, he would not have given ammunition to Republicans for a recall AND he would not have had individuals like myself who voted for him to be angered and disappointed in his actions.

by Anonymousreply 193May 2, 2021 6:10 AM

gavin is still hot as fuk, ive seen him, damn fine lookin.....maybe bi they say

by Anonymousreply 194May 2, 2021 6:21 AM

You want the trumpers to put a governor in????

hell no

by Anonymousreply 195May 2, 2021 6:22 AM

It doesn’t have to be either/ or situation with Republicans in California. It doesn’t have to be a Trumptard. What many Dems outside of California don’t understand is that Californian Dems are moderates, leaning socially liberal and fiscally slightly on the conservative side. If the California Republican Party wasn’t totally moronic and inept, Californians would be open to voting for a moderate Republican governor like Arnold Schwarzenegger who’s not a celeb.

But the state’s Republican Party have trotted out lackluster candidates or crazy fundie candidates whose religious fervor turn off Asian voters (except Koreans) who do not want religion in public life and schools. Don’t forget, California has larger Asian population (historically and currently) than black population. Latino voters tend to be socially less liberal than white and Asian voters here, though they also tend to be more fiscally liberal than white and Asian Californians. The Dems in the state legislature are starting to turn off a large swathe of middle class, suburban voters by enacting laws to decriminalize serious crimes and rehabilitate career criminals. Once the ramifications are felt in a couple of years and once the state Republican Party start tying the Democratic Party to waves of crimes, get ready for the state becoming purple.

by Anonymousreply 196May 2, 2021 3:20 PM

r193, and the election is in 2022. Why not have a primary run and get someone else. I don't love Gavin either.

But this is a waste of our taxpayers money. Fuck this recall.

by Anonymousreply 197May 2, 2021 3:51 PM

oops I'm sorry it seems we have quite more time with Gavin. He was just elected. I voted for him too, but he is here till 2026? Give him more than a year after Trump to do better. I have to rethink things. 2020 was Trump shit, so I would give him more time.

He needs to seriously deal with the homeless.

by Anonymousreply 198May 2, 2021 3:54 PM

Randy Q is the perfect GOP candidate: mentally ill.

by Anonymousreply 199May 2, 2021 3:59 PM

You were right the first time, R198. Newsom was elected in Nov. 2018 and was inaugurated on Jan. 7, 2019 -- it's a 4 year term, so the next regular election will be in Nov. 2022 for a term to commence in Jan. 2023. The recall election later this year is estimated to cost $400 million, for the sake of possibly getting a new Gov in late 2021 instead of early 2023.

by Anonymousreply 200May 2, 2021 5:03 PM

The GOP is trying to steal the state back the same way they did with the recall that put Arnold in the governors seat.

It's the same reason they have launched a campaign to get rid of Cuomo in New York. Two big states. lots of Electoral College votes, the GOP (or corporate and right wing interests which exist in both parties) want complete control over the country.

Also don't forget the alliance that was formed during covid lockdown by California, Oregon and Washington. That is too much power for liberal states to have in this country.

by Anonymousreply 201May 2, 2021 5:09 PM

r193 who would you vote for?

by Anonymousreply 202May 2, 2021 5:15 PM

I agree with r167.

He did nothing so horrible to justify spending a huge amount of money to remove him. The waste of money for this recall is wildly irresponsible when we are coming out of a pandemic and still have yet to see the full impact it will have on communities in this state. This once again shows that the GOP cares more about playing politics at every moment than thinking of what the citizens of this country need.

by Anonymousreply 203May 2, 2021 5:19 PM

I thought people were more pissed off about the homeless situation in CA getting worse.

by Anonymousreply 204May 2, 2021 5:27 PM

I agree 100% with R193. Well articulated and completely on point. Those who are outside CA don't get it and it's not worth trying to explain. Even if a Republican were elected, it would be the equivalent a centrist or moderate democrat. If you love CA, Gavin is not the person to lead it. The chances of his actually getting ousted are small, but he's going to have to be on his A-game and prove he's worth keeping now and then through the actual 2022 election if he makes it.

CA is the state of extremes. Extremely rich, extremely poor. Extremely beautiful, but also extremely ugly. I think Newsom really represents that divide. He is very much an SF blue blood, which is fine. Many politicians are. The French Laundry incident was so polarizing b/c we were heading into a major lockdown, we were about to lose outdoor dining, and the photos of him at the (or one of the top 10) most expensive restaurants not eating outdoors, but indoors was jarring. If you look at the set up, it was indoors or way more indoors than would be allowed for the general public. Also, kids were still not in school, but Gavin's kids were in private school, in the classroom, while most CA parents were tearing the hair out. The whole thing encapsulated the extreme divide between rich and poor. CA would do better with someone who has had a more diverse background that is representative of more Californians.

His voice is gravelly from the all the coke, alcohol, and cigarettes from that period.

by Anonymousreply 205May 2, 2021 5:41 PM

Gavin is a typical centrist Democratic which is why I never liked him or voted for him plus he has oily hair and a personality to match. His smile is terrifying.

However, knowing the morons behind the recall, which, btw, we burdened taxpayers are paying for, I support Newsom 100%. All the screaming and pearl clutching over the homeless is nauseating. It was their hero Reagan who emptied out the mental hospitals so the ill could be "taken care of" in community centers WHICH NEVER EXISTED. God I hate these nincompoops. Go to Texas already, I'm sick of having you next door.

by Anonymousreply 206May 2, 2021 6:27 PM

Where do you live, R206?

by Anonymousreply 207May 2, 2021 6:28 PM

Northern California north of Sacramento, the state of Jefferson if these rubes have their way.

by Anonymousreply 208May 2, 2021 6:32 PM

Your experience with the homeless situation is going to be very different than in LA or SF, R208.

by Anonymousreply 209May 2, 2021 8:15 PM

R209 You have NO idea what "my experience" is.

by Anonymousreply 210May 2, 2021 8:36 PM

Well, get her at R193. Miss Indignant can't even get the spelling of Newsom right--multiple times. But keep it up, honey--your aggrieved frauishness is hilarious. Your posts are unintentionally the most entertaining on what has become a rather tedious thread.

by Anonymousreply 211May 2, 2021 9:27 PM

he has huge support, this whole recall shit is a sham.

by Anonymousreply 212May 6, 2021 4:14 AM

I was briefly affiliated with a tribe of moron Trumptards. I infiltrated their group this past year to keep a handle on what they were attempting to get away with.

These recall people are fairly organized and extremely motivated. However, they are still Trumptards and are basically dense cretins and buffoons. They are religious zealots that have spread the idea of a recall through their churches and social gatherings. They were able to achieve their goals by canvassing every grocery store in the state. You could not go in or out of a store without being accosted by a church lady or a numbskull hick looking to get an abortion-loving elitist thrown out of office.

Fuck em all.

These stupid twats are costing the taxpayers a wadd for no good reason.

by Anonymousreply 213May 6, 2021 4:45 AM

R212 yes and the Democrats and liberals should be closing ranks to discuss this nonsense and protect him.

I hate our kind almost as much as I hate the Maggots.

by Anonymousreply 214May 6, 2021 5:19 AM

Caitlyn was on "live" with Hannity Wednesday evening for the full hour.

by Anonymousreply 215May 6, 2021 6:15 AM

GAVIN FOR PRESIDENT, HE IS A KOOL AND HOT DUDE....WE NEED HIS JIZZ IN THERE.

by Anonymousreply 216May 9, 2021 4:54 AM

the recall is what republicans did; instead of, providing a positive learning environment at home for their own children, during a fucking scary ass pandemic. While this subgroup of maga republicans may be motivated, people fucking hate them. They caused a lot if chaos and trouble during a very trying time. Their actions caused so many deaths.

We have to keep Gavin Newsom in office. All he is trying to do is save people's lives by following the science: Epidemiology, Public Health and Medical/Biology.

Recall Elections are tricky. This election will probably be in November. We do not have the ballot. In any case, stay plug in, so you know how to vote to keep Gavin Newsom in Office. Oh this, BS recall is going to cost Californians over 400 million dollars. I Fucking hate the Republican Party.

by Anonymousreply 217May 9, 2021 5:28 AM

Nothing -- CA conservatives had in for him, since day ONE! (following Jerry Brown), ANYTHING he proposed was going to be ojbected to.

He actuallly played "nice" with DJT, during the Wildfires & Coronavirus.....because the was the ONLY WAY to deal with a petty, stupid little man!

by Anonymousreply 218May 9, 2021 5:59 AM

Will the stress of a potential recall drive Gavin back to the bottle?

by Anonymousreply 219May 9, 2021 6:04 AM

Does Caitlyn have a shot at this?

by Anonymousreply 220May 9, 2021 6:13 AM

Only if those GOP fuckers cheat -- which I'm sure they will.

by Anonymousreply 221May 9, 2021 6:36 AM

Polls are coming in that Caitlyn has a 52% more support heading into a fall recall than Gavin's 48%. It's all about Caitlyn right now. Socially liberal republicans can show support to their minority friends by voting Caitlyn while sticking with conversvative fiscal policies. Some think Caitlyn will make history and could be a potential VP for Trump, CNN is saying. They are calling her "republican light".

by Anonymousreply 222May 9, 2021 6:50 AM

Where is my VOMIT icon?

🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮

by Anonymousreply 223May 9, 2021 7:14 AM

Who will be the first reporter to ask Caitlyn about her penis?

by Anonymousreply 224May 9, 2021 1:40 PM

R222--HAHAHAHAHA!!!

by Anonymousreply 225May 9, 2021 2:44 PM

The OP just thinks he is cute. If he was fugly you'd not be asking this question.

by Anonymousreply 226May 9, 2021 2:57 PM

The French Laundry scandal will kill him.

by Anonymousreply 227May 9, 2021 3:59 PM

Really, R227? It has yet to, considering 65% of Californians still support him. Nice try.

by Anonymousreply 228May 9, 2021 4:05 PM

I like the 1,000 lb. bear who's travelling with challenger Cox in those "Beauty and the Beast" TV ads. I don't want Newsom recalled but, if he is, the best replacement I've seen so far is that bear.

by Anonymousreply 229May 9, 2021 4:24 PM

The majority of Californians DO NOT support that tranny over Newsom.

by Anonymousreply 230May 9, 2021 4:27 PM

R229 There is nothing in Steve Cox's ad that convinces me that he's a better candidate. That "Beauty and the Beast" campaign is just plain stupid.

by Anonymousreply 231May 9, 2021 4:29 PM

We have to see how things go post-pandemic, but considering how quickly things are getting back to normal in CA I'd say Newsom is doing a great job. The homelessness issue is definitely something that he is going to have to give more focus to since it has gotten so out of control during the pandemic.

by Anonymousreply 232May 9, 2021 4:36 PM

R231, Cox doesn't interest me either -- it's the bear who counts! I'm hoping that the understudy eats the star (preferably on live TV), then we can vote for the survivor.

by Anonymousreply 233May 9, 2021 5:06 PM

Gavin will probably make it through this, but I do no want to see him in the White House. I hope this kills any potential presidential run.

by Anonymousreply 234May 9, 2021 5:25 PM

R229 Yeah, great. Stupid shit like this is the reason we end up with bungholes like the terminator as governor.

by Anonymousreply 235May 9, 2021 10:26 PM

Newsom is little more than a handsome suit with a great head of hair. I've been watching his career since he married Kimberly Guilfoyle (yes, her). He has Getty family connections, among other elites. ( Owns a winery with a Getty, in fact. ) He was born into affluence and is oblivious to the financial challenges that most Californians face. HIs cluelessness is his greatest vulnerability. A recent faux pas was an expensive dinner at a French Restaurant during the height of the Pandemic. He has no policies to stem the tide of middle class, educated people fleeing the State. The California tax system is confiscatory. The infra structure is collapsing. Public schools generally provide mediocre educations at best. The state university system, once the best in the country, is also sinking into mediocrity. On and on. Still, I hope he is not removed because the Republicans, in California as elsewhere, are loathsome.

Gavin Newsom is privileged!!!!!

(As if the GOP is going to replace him with some homeless man)

[Quote] A recent faux pas was an expensive dinner at a French Restaurant during the height of the Pandemic.

Recent? That was almost a year ago

by Anonymousreply 238May 9, 2021 10:59 PM

State university system is mediocre? That’s news to the rest of the world. Everyone is desperate to get in still.

Infrastructure collapsing? I wonder who’s refusing to fund infrastructure nationally….

Schwarzenegger was a terrible gov too.

[quote] The French Laundry scandal will kill him.

Insanity -- the governor who kept the most populous state from becoming a COVID hot zone gets recalled for a maskless dinner with acquaintances but the deposed President who lied about the virus and allowed it to ravage the country still holds sway over the GOP?! Our likely near-term extinction is starting to feel deserved.

by Anonymousreply 243May 9, 2021 11:14 PM

That's OK, R235 -- I don't really plan to vote for a bear -- I was just making what's called "a joke". Maybe it wasn't hilarious but I did think it was obvious.

by Anonymousreply 244May 10, 2021 12:10 AM

Not a thing. This is just Trumptard faux drama. Just keep moving back to Peoria, bitches.

by Anonymousreply 245May 10, 2021 12:34 AM

Spin, little wingnut PR trolls, spin! Newsom ain't going anywhere.

No - we were THE covid hot spot from Thanksgiving - the end of January. He had just began to shut everything down again when the ill timed French Laundry dinner happened.

by Anonymousreply 247May 10, 2021 1:02 AM

Fuck these restaurant owners, they bitch and complain about PH measures, then they bitch and complain about outdoor private parties, which was INCOME for them. Restaurant Owners/Republicans cannot have it both ways. Bitching that Covid would kill these businesses, then bitch when people were trying to help them stay in business.

He is a good governor. PH Measures is based on science. This is not a super spreader event, like fox news is trying to say.

Gavin Newsom, fire fighters, Medical teams, these people put themselves at risk to help save your ass, your lives. Gavin Newsom had to deal with the restaurant owners and all their bitchy. He tried to help them too and they are fucking him over.

FUCK YOU!

by Anonymousreply 248May 10, 2021 1:31 AM

Governor Newsom is a FIRST RESPONDER. He was trying to save your life. Restaurant Owners were bitching and complaining, so he try to support them to keep them in business so they had income.

FUCK YOU RESTAURANT OWNERS!

FUCK YOU REPUBLICAN PARTY!

Public Health Measures are based on science.

by Anonymousreply 249May 10, 2021 1:36 AM

Next, Republican Party is going to leak pictures of Medical Doctors eating without a mask. The very Medical Doctors who were saving lives during this fucking scary pandemic.

The Republican Party left you to die. Do not attack the people who were trying to save your very lives.

First Responders need to eat. The ones that tried to save lives during this scary pandemic are HEROES.

How dare you do this to Governor Gavin Newsom!

FUCK YOU!

by Anonymousreply 250May 10, 2021 1:42 AM

Newsom bases science on his approval ratings. The more his approval ratings sink, the more CA opens up!

by Anonymousreply 251May 10, 2021 5:00 AM

His Newsomness just "found" 49 billion dollars to give 2/3 of Californians $300 checks.

How CONVENIENT.
