It's hard to see the point of a ponytail, if you are going to comb/pull your hair back anyway why do you need to have long hair? Cut it.

Ponytails on women are not attractive, either. But few women under 50 want shorter hair and the ponytail is easy.

Once your hair is long enough for a ponytail, you catch glimpses of it when you turn your head - like somebody’s behind you.

As far as servers, most establishments make workers with long hair pull it back so it doesn’t shed on the food as much.

But, as we found out in the 1990s when men's pony tails were so ubiquitous they were selling clip-ons at the local Walgreens, it doesn't do much for older guys. Now there are a few older guys around with silver pony tails that I like the look of, but they're old hippies and I like them because they're being themselves, not because they're stylin'.

I don't understand how anyone is able to have long hair. After a month, my hair is thick enough that it makes my head too hot especially for sleeping. The woman that cuts my hair told me a similar story where last year, once barbershops were able to reopen, a lot of men came in with long hair complaining about being too hot!

I don't generally find long hair on men that attractive, but there are some guys with hair about this length that I think are absolutely gorgeous, and that includes when they pull it back.

This was a popular hair length and style for musicians and people like Brad Pitt in the 90s and it works for me.

Guys with very straight hair who grow it long and then pull it back tightly into a ponytail always look like grease ball sleazebags. But if a guy is good looking, well built, and has think wavy hair, he can pull off a ponytail and look sexy as hell.

I used to know a really hot crew guy with long hair (think John Redcorn) and that the only guy with long hair I’ve ever been sexually attracted to.

Some guys look fantastic with ponytails; it depends on the guy's overall attractiveness. From my personal observations, very few guys with long hair or ponytails can pull it off well. The long hair rarely makes them *more* attractive.

A lot of men who wear their hair in ponytails do it thinking it's an alternative to washing their hair. They stink.

I have a pony/man bun and I agree, it looks pretty shitty. But honestly over the last year I’ve realized how easy it is to care for, so I’m not in a huge rush to cut it off now that I’m vaccinated. Also I’ve been leaning more into a “fuck it” attitude regarding hyper-vanity so I don’t really worry too much about whether it is attractive or not. Wash it, dry it, it’s done. I have a lot of hair but it’s pretty fine so maybe that’s why I find it so easy to care for. Once I do chop it off I’ll probably go in the exact opposite direction and go super short...but that can be problematic for me because of cowlicks. It seems counter intuitive since there is so much more of it, but I really think a lot less about it now, and I enjoy that.
