I know it has Alec Mapa, but it just sounds bland and uninteresting. Both he and ABC can find better projects that don't waste their time, and hopefully others will realize this. We don't need two homophobes using a sitcom to try and trick people into thinking they're allies and all "woke." It didn't work for Debra Messing either, boys. Pack it up and retire.
ABC cancels Alec Baldwin & Kelsey Grammer before it even airs

When has Conservative Republican Grammer tried to trick people into thinking he's a gay ally and "all woke?"
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 24, 2021 4:35 PM |
How is KG a homophobe. He did a sitcom with two gays for many years so he's obviously not that homophobic.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 24, 2021 4:36 PM |
When has Debra Messing been a homophobe?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 24, 2021 4:37 PM |
When did OP take his fingers out of his butt and type a post?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 24, 2021 4:38 PM |
Grammer isn't even a little bit of a homophobe. Baldwin, however, has been a real bastard over the years and has used gay slurs. Of course his wife will just cover for him by spinning some yarn about his background that is completely false.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 24, 2021 4:47 PM |
The Frasier episode where he goes into the gay bar wearing his brother's tiny, white shorts is hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 24, 2021 4:48 PM |
Grammer is a homophobe if he's a Conservative Republican, which he PROUDLY IS.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 24, 2021 4:57 PM |
This sounds like The Odd Couple plus 1.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 24, 2021 5:14 PM |
Grammer is a Trumper. Fuck him.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 24, 2021 5:17 PM |
I rather see a Frasier revival.

[quote] The untitled comedy follows three men — played by Grammer, Baldwin and Mapa — who were roommates in their 20s until their warring egos drove them apart.
Or maybe Grammer and Baldwin were just jealous that Mapa looked a decade younger? Because he is.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 24, 2021 5:18 PM |
These two are people I really have no interest in seeing on TV.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 24, 2021 5:19 PM |
Off topic but does Grammer's wife still have IBS? Didn't she shit herself on a flight years ago?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 24, 2021 5:25 PM |
R2 He's one of those who makes exceptions for those he deems "one of the good ones."
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 24, 2021 5:29 PM |
Baldwin/Grammer would have been better to do an American version of "Vicious Queens" with Mapa cast as their houseboy/maid
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 24, 2021 5:32 PM |
[quote] Grammer is a Trumper. Fuck him.
Yet Grammer is the gay ally and the fake Trump is the one who's said homophobic things.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 24, 2021 5:37 PM |
Omg, that would have been amazing, R15. But in this day and age there would be a million hit pieces about having straight actors in gay roles. Not to mention two white leads.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 24, 2021 5:37 PM |
Will Kelsey Grammer back our gorgeous Cait's campaign for governor?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 24, 2021 5:38 PM |
Alec Baldwins wife is a nutcase. She spits out kids like a pez dispenser and pretends she’s from Spain
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 24, 2021 5:45 PM |
This was from the creators of Modern Family, so for ABC to have killed it after seeing the pilot means it really must have sucked.

STRAIGHT WHITE MEN ARE BEING CANCELLED!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 24, 2021 6:02 PM |
Multi-camera sitcom.
Will there be a laugh track, too?
The audience for that is geriatric at this point, and it seems even nostalgia isn't going to endear them to Grammar and Baldwin.
Where do they go after being rejected by ABC, ffs?

Thanks for inquiring about my bowel health, r13. I manage my condition with a combination of medication and prayer.

They should have entitled it "Call your Mapa"
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 24, 2021 6:37 PM |
Grammer may not be a homophobe, but he supports a party that resents our existence and wants to legislate us out of existence.

by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 24, 2021 7:44 PM |
Three gays, r2.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 24, 2021 7:45 PM |
a show like this would have been sooooooo expensive. so if it wasnt working its easier to cancel before it goes to film an entire season. plus ABC has chance to get some money back if it gets picked up elsewhere.

A black man raped and killed his sister, so it's not hard to see why he is a Republican.

Kelly Ripa & Ryan Seacrest’s pilot got shelved too @ ABC.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 24, 2021 8:09 PM |
R26 My sister is one of those weirdos who loves true crime. She said that the murder of Grammar's sister is "one of five or six things" that truly disturbed her. Now, my sister has been weird and morbid since she was a kid, so that's saying something.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 24, 2021 8:15 PM |
I'm sure that Camille Grammer still shits herself regularly.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 24, 2021 8:46 PM |
I can't stand Kelsey Grammer.

I wonder whatever happened to this? Last I heard it was possibly on track to happen, then this show was announced and nothing since about "Frasier."

Grammar claims he’s a libertarian and thought there should be no gay marriage because no marriage should have to be sanctioned by the government . Of course he himself got legally married at least 3 times.
Baldwin has been an LGBT ally forever
by Anonymous | reply 45 | April 24, 2021 11:12 PM |

I guess that's me this time.

Grammer is a horrible person. I can't watch that right-wing cunt in anything.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 25, 2021 2:40 AM |
How is Alec going to support all those kids with his faux Spanish wife? He'll be 80 when they are getting out of high school and Hollywood won't want him.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 25, 2021 2:57 AM |
Alec Baldwin & Kelsey Grammer are old and way out of touch with the masses. Alec's wife is disgusting. I've looked it up. Kelsey's pursuits should remain in his stupid attempts. Either way, disturbing.

Seriously. My Boomer parents, aunts and uncles are the only people I know who still watch network sitcoms. That Kyra Sedgwick show looks like a time warp from the 90s.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 25, 2021 3:09 AM |
I don't get it -- wasn't social media all afire last couple of months with Grammer planning to front a "Frasier" revival of sorts on Netflix, or somewhere? Such a big announcement not happening must've been actually a teaser to see what the feedback would sound like. [Crickets...]
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 25, 2021 3:42 AM |
I'm actually shocked that NBC is not jumping on a "Frasier" revival given what a great success the show was for the network all those years. Heck, they did the "W&G" revival, so why not "Frasier"?
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 25, 2021 3:55 AM |
I love Kelsey, he’s my hero (for divorcing Camille). She’s an asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | April 25, 2021 7:18 AM |
R20, not to mention that James Burrows directed it; the man directed every single episode of WIll & Grace; there were some gems in the revival like Three Wise Men in which Grace came to realize she'd slept with a grandfather (Barry Bostwick), father, and son.
they all kept saying they'd been with the prettiest girl and not being able to take it anymore, Grace yelled out: "I"M THE PRETTIEST GIRL!!! IT"S MEEEEE"
Hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 25, 2021 7:24 AM |
I think tho this means that Kelsey's available for that Fraiser revival, no?

[quote]I'm actually shocked that NBC is not jumping on a "Frasier" revival given what a great success the show was for the network all those years.
Last check it was happening on "Paramount+" (still in development) and the last update I saw was three months ago.
[quote]Grammer isn't even a little bit of a homophobe.
He's such a strange case. He's not a homophobe and he actually went ahead and produced two shows with black actors/actresses on them and black creators writing them, "The Game" and "Girlfriends."
But he's still a Republican and he still supported Trump in 2019 and that severely poisons is rep for me. Even Patricia Heaton, who is also a Republican, managed to openly despise him. (Also by supporting the Republican party under Trump he also supported all of their ideals including racism and homophobia but no one has had that discussion with him yet, it seems.)
Back when Grammer was being asked his thoughts on the Tea Party years ago, a reporter asked if he was against gay marriage because they are. He said he isn't against it, and marriage should be between two people who love each other, but the funny part was it seemed like he didn't do any reading into what they were about.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 25, 2021 7:35 AM |
I’m betting the network just got cold feet about spending so much money on a show starring two over the hill actors - even if the pilot was decent.
The double whammy of being 1) too old and 2) too expensive will do you in almost every time.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 25, 2021 9:14 AM |
ABC? It still exists? I wonder what planet some of you live on.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 25, 2021 9:38 AM |

I can see why it got hype. I mean, Baldwin was funny on 30 Rock and Frazier was reasonably entertaining.
As far as a premise goes, this isn't actually all that bad sounding. I would have watched the first episode to check it out.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 25, 2021 2:29 PM |
Maybe Grammer and Heaton can give it another go with "Back to You," which lasted half a season on Fox.
