Actors who have appeared nude on stage

Which actors have appeared completely nude on stage? I know many of them have done performances early in their careers as actors, baring all for the world to see.

Diane Keaton was in the original cast of HAIR, so I'm assuming she was naked.

by Anonymousreply 1April 22, 2021 7:06 PM

Back in the 90s Mark Ruffalo appeared in an off-Broadway play where he and other male cast members disrobed. I don't remember the title but they were baseball players and it was a scene that took place in a lockerroom.

David Tennant went nude in an early play where he spent the whole thing unclothed. Not sure what it was - some sort of knockabout farce, I believe.

by Anonymousreply 9April 22, 2021 7:25 PM

Maxwell Caulfield - in a few different really shitty gay plays. Huge dick.

by Anonymousreply 10April 22, 2021 7:26 PM

The original Equus- Peter Firth, who was hung like a mule.

Bent usually has full frontal nudity in it productions, I would like to know if Andy Mientus was one of them in the production from LA a few years ago.

British actor, Ben Hardy.

Tom Hulce - replacement for Peter Firth in "Equus"

Apparently both Bradley Whitford and Bill Pullman (one was a replacement for the other), entering naked carrying a sheep in Sam Shepard's "The Curse of the Starving Class" -- don't know if photos exist though

Sam Harris was nude in that LA production of "Hair" with Steven Webber (also I think Marissa Jaret Winokur, but whatever).

I think Diane Keaton was one of the few people in "Hair" who was known to not go naked. But among some well-known people who have been nude in various productions: Ben Vereen, Joe Mantegna, Isaac from "The Love Boat" Ted Lange, Keith Carradine, among others

by Anonymousreply 33April 22, 2021 7:50 PM

Anson Mount and Josh Lucas as Jesus and Judas in Terrence McNally's CORPUS CHRISTI (1999) had a brief nude scene.

by Anonymousreply 34April 22, 2021 7:51 PM

by Anonymousreply 39April 22, 2021 7:55 PM

Does anyone know what play/musical that is in the OP link?

by Anonymousreply 40April 22, 2021 7:55 PM

I saw Brad Whitford and his dick was covered by the sheep he was carrying.

by Anonymousreply 41April 22, 2021 7:57 PM

R36 "Take Me Out" revival has been cancelled or postponed in NY due to pandemic. Quite a few guys were looking forward to their naked debuts on Broadway. Hopefully it will be rescheduled.

by Anonymousreply 42April 22, 2021 7:57 PM

Patrick Wilson in The Fully Monty?

by Anonymousreply 43April 22, 2021 7:58 PM

by Anonymousreply 44April 22, 2021 7:58 PM

by Anonymousreply 45April 22, 2021 7:59 PM

Anthony Perkins, later replaced by Keith Baxter in "Romantic Comedy", though from the back, not frontal, unless you visited Keith in his dressing room after the show.

by Anonymousreply 46April 22, 2021 8:00 PM

R43 When I saw the Full Monty the stage went dark at the moment they ripped their pants off. The audience never really got to see anything.

by Anonymousreply 47April 22, 2021 8:00 PM

The revival cast of A Delicate Balance: Rosemary Harris , George Grizzard, John Carter, Elizabeth Wilson, Elaine Stritc,h and Mary Beth Hurt.

It was spectacular, and I never expect to see its like again in my lifetime.

by Anonymousreply 48April 22, 2021 8:01 PM

NIck Offerman spent the first scene of the play he did with his wife Megan Mullally totally nude and OMG I loved it.

I saw just about every one of the above mentioned productions. And, yes, Jude Law was naked and took a bath in the star studded Broadway production of Indiscretions. Saw that, too. Lee Pace's frontal nudity was better and longer in a play I saw him in at Playarights Horizons when he was first starting out. Credeaux Canvas, I think it was called. I liked it, loved him. Jake Webber naked during a lengthy monologue was a glorious thing in The Big Funk at the Public. I've seen a lot.

by Anonymousreply 51April 22, 2021 8:05 PM

I'm not a theater person but I've heard Stanley Tucci has done some nude plays.

by Anonymousreply 60April 22, 2021 8:29 PM

Patrick J Adams was nude years ago in a play called 9 Circles. So doing frontal nudity in Take Me Out is old hat at this point.

Chris Messina was frontal nude in Adam Rapp’s, FASTER.

[quote]WEHT Sam Trammell?

He works practically nonstop on TV/Streaming. Didn't even take a break after years of True Blood paychecks.

by Anonymousreply 61April 22, 2021 8:35 PM

A then-unknown Jude Law had a nude scene on Broadway in Indiscretions. He was out the night I saw it. I can remember thinking to myself “What difference does it make which young actor is nude on stage?” Wrong.

by Anonymousreply 62April 22, 2021 8:36 PM

Sam Trammell plays the father of twins with wife Martha Plimpton in Genera+ions on HBO, he looks a decade younger then he is.

by Anonymousreply 63April 22, 2021 8:37 PM

Helen Lawson in The Norman Conquests (play 3, Round and Round the Garden). However, it wasn't scripted. She'd had too much to drink and, well, stumbled on stage starkers.

John Lithgow might be the only actor to win a Tony with a big nude scene in "The Changing Room". I didn't see it, but it had a whole bunch of theater people naked: George Hearn, Rex Robbins, David Masur, actor turned later director John Tillinger.

by Anonymousreply 71April 22, 2021 9:02 PM

[quote]Why how is Johnny Galecki intact? How did he escape the knife?

Justin Kirk has always claimed to be straight, and occasionally to have a girl friend. He still isn't married, though.

I will tell you that I was standing near the stage door when he was in Angels in America and he cruised me heavily on the way in for that night's performance.

Just sayin'

by Anonymousreply 74April 22, 2021 9:10 PM

R71, I was going to mention that. Every member of the cast goes naked and I think there was a shower onstage. I think it was fairly shocking to see that much male nudity.

by Anonymousreply 75April 22, 2021 9:15 PM

[quote]Ian McKellen did full-frontal in King Lear. I can't find a pic, but here he is from a back-stage documentary (not of that show).

McKellen and Taron Egerton were on Graham Norton and Egerton told him he saw McKellen's Lear saying, "I saw a lot of you; and there was a lot to see."

by Anonymousreply 76April 22, 2021 9:21 PM

Diana Rigg the play Abelard And Heloise. Where that bitch John Simon famously put her down “Diana Rigg is built like a brick mausoleum with insufficient flying buttresses”.

by Anonymousreply 77April 22, 2021 9:33 PM

McKellen had quite a thick and juicy looking hog in "King Lear". I saw that, I saw "Take Me Out" with the original cast, saw Jude Law emerge from the bath in "Indiscretions", saw Lee Pace in "Angels in America". I saw a play called "Marlowe" where a sexy and talented actor called Christian Camargo as gay Elizabethan rebel and playwright Christopher Marlowe entered swinging on a rope totally nude. Sam Trammell played his love interest but I think he remained clothed.

The two plays where Maxwell Caulfield was nude were "Entertaining Mr. Sloane" and "Salonika" back in the 1980's.

Off-Broadway in 2010 I saw a gay two-character play about a Manhunt hookup that turned cathartic called "Loaded" with Kevin Spirtas ("Days of Our Lives" and "One Life to Live") and Scott Kerns. They began the play in the nude in bed.

by Anonymousreply 78April 22, 2021 9:36 PM

"Party" with DL fave (?) David Pevsner in one of his public naked appearances.

Many cast members in "Naked Boys Singing" -- don't think anyone became very well-known from doing the show, though don't think it particularly hurt anyone's career. I think some guys do leave it off their resume though.

by Anonymousreply 79April 22, 2021 9:51 PM

Keith Michell appeared nude opposite Diana Rigg, and he was a good-looking guy, who I would have liked to have seen nude.

by Anonymousreply 80April 22, 2021 9:52 PM

The biggest dick I've ever seen--and I've seen plenty--was Willem Dafoe's when he entered naked in "The Emperor Jones" in NYC in the 90s for the Wooster Group at LaMama. You could hear the entire theater gasp at once because it was so awe-inspiring, despite the fact he is not a handsome man (nor has he ever been).

by Anonymousreply 81April 22, 2021 9:58 PM

Frederik Weller was completely nude and let it all hang out in Take Me Out, big dong and low hanging massive balls.

by Anonymousreply 82April 22, 2021 9:59 PM

Zach Gilford from Friday Night Lights was nude in Equus.

by Anonymousreply 83April 22, 2021 10:00 PM

I am happy I saw real Jude Law's dong on stage. muahahahaha.

But that bitch actress Cynthia Nixon was utterly annoying. And she is still now.

by Anonymousreply 84April 22, 2021 10:00 PM

Lauren Bacall in Woman of the Year when it previewed in Boston.

by Anonymousreply 90April 22, 2021 10:17 PM

Helen Mirren in Antony and Cleopatra at the National. We went on a school trip so it was very exciting. We all just thought she was that bird out of Prime Suspect so it was a bit of a shock.

by Anonymousreply 91April 22, 2021 10:20 PM

by Anonymousreply 110April 23, 2021 1:17 AM

I saw THE CHANGING ROOM the year I moved to NYC. There was nothing sexy about it in spite of all the nudity, unlike the changing room (and shower) scenes in TAKE ME OUT. Trust me. The former had mostly all character types muddy and bloody from the rugby field, speaking in annoying and indecipherable Yorkshire accents. Lithgow was probably the most attractive if that's any gauge. I remember that 3 from the cast were featured on the cover of After Dark but they were all in minor roles, lost in the crowd. The nudity in TAKE ME OUT was truly glorious.

by Anonymousreply 111April 23, 2021 1:18 AM

In Take Me Out at the Public Dominic Fumusa had a long nude scene that was great. He was the only one of the original cast to not to move to Broadway. Was it because he did not want to appear naked on Broadway where it would have garnered so much more publicity? Anyone know the story?

by Anonymousreply 112April 23, 2021 1:35 AM

I guess you didn't see Gbenga Akinnagbe in the Flea Theater's production of FULLFILLMENT in 2015, It looked like an elephant's trunk, swinging back and forth. I can't believe nobody appears to have gotten a photo of that huge dick. It's not like it was fleeting. He stood center stage, completely naked for quite awhile.

Another glorious horsecock was Juan Castano in the Public Theater's OEDIPUS EL REY in 2017. I kept hoping we'd see it again in WHAT/IF but no such luck.

by Anonymousreply 125April 23, 2021 4:01 AM

Tangential story: In the late ‘90s I used to work out at Crunch in the Archives building on Christopher St. I walked into the lockeroom to interrupt Paul Rudd shirtless checking himself out in the mirror, he looked very embarrassed. Later that year he starred in a Lincoln Center Shakespeare production that was set around a giant pool and he needed to be shirtless a lot. I don’t think he went fully nude though.

by Anonymousreply 126April 23, 2021 4:12 AM

There wasn't a planned 2019 revival of Take Me Out, it was supposed to have opened in April, 2020. But Broadway shut down in March for Covid. There had already been delays because the production was to have starred Jussie Smollet but he became, shall we say, unavailable. The show is now set to open this coming December.

by Anonymousreply 144April 23, 2021 1:58 PM

Jussie should have been organizing and starring in the Chicago Federal Penitentiary production of “Take Me Out” in 2020.

by Anonymousreply 145April 23, 2021 2:08 PM

Was Take Me Out a commercial success considering its large cast? I kind of doubt it. Why do it again?

That was when Helen Lawson was still in the show before Ethel replaced her out of town and refused to do it. And it wasn't at the end. It was when Rose sang "Hold your hats and hallelujah, Mama's gonna show 'em to ya!" She dropped her top and strutted the runway jiggling her sagging breasts. I've seen many nude scenes in plays in "the legitimate theater" in NYC, but the highlights are:

'Take Me Out,' Public Theatre and on Broadway,

Maxwell Caulfield's enchanting prone butt in 'Salonika,'

John Wesley Shipp in the Armory's multiple-scened whodunit 'Tamara,' - I'd been clued in by a friend who noted that moving to an upstairs set at the opening of Act II revealed a fully dripping wet nude Shipp emerging from a bathtub; just a glimpse of cock, and a generous viewing of his amazing ass.

But the most entertaining moment was Alec Baldwin's repeated strips to silk boxer shorts in Circle Rep's "Prelude to a Kiss." The moment he flops down to lay on a bed (or chair?) his package visibly bounced!

Fortunately it was Tim Hopper who was nude in that production and not Nathan Lane in the previous production in the same role. The director had Hopper, who played a overzealous fan/writer, in a trenchcoat which he removed at one point, revealing himself to be totally naked. It's not in the script -- it's something the director put in. It kind of worked, for a bit of shock value. Langella was pretty great as the lead, much better than Kevin Kline.

The Present Laughter nude scene though gratuitous and came out of nowhere and you were like what?! then paid off in a subsequent very big laugh with another dressed actress. Langella's reactions were very funny. It's as if you can keep it in because it was a good piece of business.

Tim Hopper was at the door as I was leaving holding a basket for AIDS contributions. The woman in front of me as we were leaving said to him you've got a very cute butt. He turned crimson immediately which I thought was pretty funny. As if you can see a man naked on stage but it's impolite to mention it.

I didn't go for whatever reason, but completely regret it. Turns out, according to those who went, he walked out on stage completely nude in one scene and had a big dick.

by Anonymousreply 208April 24, 2021 7:50 PM

I had a chance to see a guy I was interested in nude on stage. It turned out to be a huge turn-off, although he had a very nice body. The character he was playing was so abrasive I didn't care by that the time he stripped off. And he turned out to be closer to that character in real life than not.

In 2010, the York Theater produced a show called YANK! a musical about a gay relationship between two American servicemen during World War II. I love the music of that era so I couldn't wait to see it and was thrilled when hunky Ivan Hernandez got naked during a barracks scene in which, if I recall correctly, he came out of the shower, dropped the towel and got dressed.

I enjoyed the show so much that I went back to see it again, but this time, Ivan dropped the towel and got dressed without facing the audience. Though the rear view was still quite lovely, I was somewhat puzzled, so when the director was being interviewed on the Frank DeCaro radio show shortly thereafter, I emailed a question asking why the change in staging. Apparently, Hernandez was, shall we say, taking liberties with the staging the first time I saw it, and one can presume that he was told to face the other way during the scene from then on.

Simon Callow entered starkers when he was in "The Beastly Beatitudes of Balthazar B" in London years ago. He was very funny and quite cute for a non-skinny twink body (which seems to be the DL ideal). Nice to actually see a more regular kind of guy totally nude on stage. Of course, he's on view as Mr. Beebe in the classic film "A Room with A View". Billy Connolly took over for him afterwards. There's a video of Campbell baring all running around Piccadilly Circus on some British Comic Relief special. Very cute and very naked. Apparently Malcolm McDowell was going to do he role on Broadway, but it closed out of town in Boston I believe. Anyone see it --- and him?

IIRC, the first commercial Broadway show to have full frontal male nudity was a late 1960s comedy called You Know I Can't Hear You You When the Water's Running. It was an evening of four one act plays with a common theme but in one of them there is a wife talking to her offstage husband while he is brushing his teeth. He finally comes out of the bathroom totally starkers and facing the audience while still brushing his teeth, saying you know I can't hear you, etc.

The evening got good reviews and had a long run. The nudity has always been assumed to have been a successful publicity stunt and in most later productions, the husband comes out of the bathroom in his boxers

by Anonymousreply 218April 24, 2021 10:00 PM

r218 Wasn't that Martin Balsam?

by Anonymousreply 219April 24, 2021 10:03 PM

Did Martin Balsam actually do that staging? I remember reading the plays, or certainly that particular 1 act years ago. It's about producer and writer writing a nude scene where someone is supposed to come in nude at one point and say the titular "You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water's Running" to be all current with the then new openess and nudity on Broadway. Balsam's character shows up as a desperate actor willing to do anything, but I seem to recall he may have flashed the other actors out of sight of the audience. But I just read the play. Maybe someone here actually saw the staging.

The only guy I desperately would have loved to see in NAKED BOYS SINGING was Juan Esteban Guerrero, who was a bartender at Boxers in Hells Kitchen, too, I think. He is just the most beautiful man I've ever seen.

And I did see PARTY in Los Angeles in the early 90s, and got to see Vince Gatton naked, which gave me masturbatory material for, well, about 30 years or so?

He plays Sebastian, Helen Hunt's twin. He really was gorgeous and a good actor, As far as I can tell, he's still with us, but his last credits per imdb were in 2007. Not sure what happened to him.

by Anonymousreply 242April 29, 2021 11:49 PM

Jon Orsini was the film The Assistant which came out a year or so ago. Small role. It's too bad the distribution company didn't know what was coming down the pike with Rudin, because the film's plot is very much about that in a non-specific way, and they could have gotten a lot of heat on it if it had come out a year later.

R256, From Wayne Brady's IMDB page . . .

Brady moved to Las Vegas and then to Los Angeles in 1996, where he began working in theater and television. He performed at the prestigious Mark Taper Forum in its production of "Blade to the Heat".

Fred Weller and Shane Jacobsen had the lowest hanging balls I've ever seen on an actor on stage.

R260, aha, interesting. Only a few guys in the play got naked and I hope I would have remembered Wayne. He was probably super cute at that age.

by Anonymousreply 269May 9, 2021 8:37 PM

Deservedly so, r269. Matt Dillion was flayed alive (offstage, though we heard his screams), and McCarthy showered nude. The water he bathed in turned to blood.

"Take Me Out" is coming back when theater comes back to NY! Lots of penises in that one.

by Anonymousreply 273May 10, 2021 8:59 PM

What was that play about the gay boys at Harvard in the 1930s that was at Classic Stage? With Nick Westrate? There was a gratuitous frontal nude shower scene from an incredibly hot, fit, hung, Latin (or Italian) guy. Everyone gasped. The show was a mess, though, I thought, though it got great reviews.

by Anonymousreply 274May 10, 2021 10:32 PM

I love that moment in the theater when the audience gasps upon seeing a penis.

by Anonymousreply 275May 10, 2021 10:35 PM

Years ago, I saw a production of "The Birds" at the Stratford Festival in Canada. The audience was told that there would be nudity in the show, but no one could have anticipated what it really was. It was a large cast with plenty of young men in the Greek Chorus. At a certain point of the play, the entire male chorus came out totally naked. It was a small arena stage, so everyone could be plainly seen. I was in the first row, so I sat there, erecting in the middle of Aristophanes. I truly believe that the director was a perv who cast the hottest young men and then had them prance around naked for about seven minutes. There were a few who really attracted me, so I spent the entire time staring at their dicks bouncing around and their tight little asses. I couldn't tell you anything about the play, but I really enjoyed it.

Sally Kirkland (who else) is usually sited as the first actress to give a nude theater performance in NYC, in SWEET EROS (1968)

HAIR had opened months earlier, but that contained just one nude number. Kirkland did a whole 1-act play starkers.

R136 I saw the 2019 production of Curse of The Starving Class at the Signature Theater in NY. I'm a big fan of Sam Shepard plays, but had forgotten that there is a nude scene where Gilles Geary who plays son Wesley comes out nude carrying a live lamb (the photo shows him clothed). Photos of Gilles don't do him justice he's incandescent in person and has a lovely body. Sam Shepard initially write the play with the scene partially dressed but decided to make the son totally nude in early iterations of the scene.

"Curse of the Starving Class" also includes a scene with the older brother pissing on his little sister's 4H paper project on the floor. Various productions have chosen him pissing upstage, back turned, with a hidden small water bottle, or, as with a college production I saw, the actor whipping out his dick and pissing facing front. I met the (cute) actor later and asked how he could piss on cue. "I had a beer before curtain every night!" Yes, we later had sex.

Ah, the theatre arts!

David Burtka in "The Play About the Baby" (pre being with NPH)

Venessa Redgrave "Orpheus Descending"

Toni Collette "The Wild Party" (really only topless)

Jonathan Groff's butt in "Spring Awakening"

by Anonymousreply 291May 26, 2021 2:14 AM

R291 Wait, don’t you mean the actor in Orpheus Descending? I saw that and recall him being dragged off stage, hands tied, maybe nude. He was the one in that Sleeping With the Enemy movie who courts Julia Robert’s in her new life.

by Anonymousreply 292May 26, 2021 3:55 AM

R115 is so right. Gbenga Akinnagbe in the Flea Theater's production of FULFILLMENT in 2015 was stunning. Huge, huge cock. And it was out for a long while. And Juan Castano in the Public Theater's OEDIPUS EL REY was also truly breathtaking. Both of these shows were in small OB houses, so everyone was so close. Castano was just a few feet away, and his cock was at my eye level.

Those are the two most impressive ones I've seen on stage. I did see porn star Rex Chandler in MAKING PORN in the WV, and he of course is impressive when he takes his clothes off. David Burtka displayed a nice piece in the Albee play, and Lee Pace was so beautiful and sexy in the CREDEAUX CANVAS at PH.

Other notables: Daniel Craig in ANGELS IN AMERICA at the National, everyone in TAKE ME OUT, and David Anzuelo who had to have a full erection in INTIMACY. And did. (And it was allowed by Equity.)

But the most exciting nudity and sex I've ever seen on stage? A production of OUR LADY OF THE FLOWERS in Melbourne set in an actual prison. Those men. Those cocks. Have never seen anything that comes close to that.

I had a play Off-Broadway that had lots of male frontal nudity and a beautiful actor doing it. No one's mentioned it yet, or him, which means all you bitches missed out when you missed my show!

by Anonymousreply 293May 26, 2021 7:50 AM

R288 and R289 - David Eigenberg really did have an amazing body when appearing on "Sex and the City," I wish I had seen him naked on stage or (anywhere else).

Completely unrelated, how does he continue to work on that God-awful "Chicago Fire" program? Jesus that show is terrible and his character is insufferable. What does Dick Wolf have that keeps David in the cast? Can the pay be that good?

by Anonymousreply 294May 26, 2021 10:00 AM

Aaaand, we're back. A revival of LILIES, which features male nudity, has started performances. Better hurry, closes June 6. I'm still undecided about the wisdom of sitting in a cramped Off-Broadway theater, but it appears they're social-distancing, FWIW.

I'm guessing it's the pay.

I actually don't mind Dick Wolf's other two Chicago shows. Nick Gehlfuss in Med and Patrick Flueger in P.D. make the shows interesting enough visually, and I enjoy both of their characters' struggles. Chicago Fire doesn't really have anyone I like a lot, and I can't stand looking at the fire parts.

It was In The Next Room, Or The Vibrator Play. Cerveris was nude, r345. Despite what r352 said, Cerveris wasn't "small". Hairy, unquestionably, but not "small". If he is a grower, it would have been respectable. I believe that his character gave Laura Benanti's character an orgasm.

I remember reading in one of the, I think, Lehman Engel (Broadway conductor) books on musical theater, someone once made mistake of singing in an audition in front of Joshua Logan, a song called "Have You Met Miss Logan" and apparently Josh Logan got apoplectic and screamed at the auditionee, who meant no personal comment on his auditioner.

blah blah blah DANIEL RADCLIFFE blah blah blah

by Anonymousreply 387June 4, 2021 5:13 PM

Just you wait.

by Anonymousreply 388June 4, 2021 5:15 PM

r382, Chad Allen was in that too. Unfortunately, I had my eyes on Chad for the nude scene (it must have been cold on stage) and didn't see Jeremy.

by Anonymousreply 389June 5, 2021 11:15 AM

R389, I saw Little Dog Laughed in Hartford too. I don't remember seeing Jeremy or Chad's dick, but do remember they were nude.

Here's what I do remember... Chad Allen had hideous tattoos.

by Anonymousreply 390June 5, 2021 9:11 PM

I looked up Chad Allen. Handsome. Sorry to hear about the tattoos.

by Anonymousreply 391June 5, 2021 9:19 PM

Chad (Allen) Lazarri appears shirtless on his IG now and again, and he only appears to have one, relatively modest tattoo on his upper left arm. Nothing on his chest or legs. I believe I've seen one on his lower back.

R398, Not as big as Aaron Phypers.

by Anonymousreply 399June 6, 2021 1:45 PM

R399 Denise Richards is not lying. You can see Aaron Phypers' huge trouser snake through his clothes! She's lucky!

Daniel Sunjata, Dominic Fumusa, Kohl Sudduth, Fred Weller, Neil Huff, David Eigenberg, Robert Jimenez.......WTF, did Joe Mantello audition them all in the nude?? So much perfection!

by Anonymousreply 403June 6, 2021 10:17 PM

One would think that this topic would be exhausted at some point with every production accounted for and cataloged with multiple viewpoint pictures.

by Anonymousreply 404June 6, 2021 10:41 PM

[quote]WTF, did Joe Mantello audition them all in the nude?? So much perfection!

Isn't there an Equity rule you have to cast sight unseen and can't have the actor disrobe until hired and in rehearsals?

by Anonymousreply 405June 6, 2021 11:17 PM

No, Equity has initial casting either monologues or reading from script, clothed. In callbacks, people auditioning must be told they will be required to disrobe, but a member of Equity in some monitoring position to make sure rules are followed (no hanky panky, etc.) and at least one person with casting authority for show must be in room.

by Anonymousreply 406June 6, 2021 11:51 PM

Or singing a song at musical auditions, clothed for stuff like "Naked Boys Singing". Callbacks can be nude if they are aware there's nudity in show, and rules like above are followed.

by Anonymousreply 407June 6, 2021 11:52 PM

Imagine the humiliation of not passing the nude audition?

by Anonymousreply 408June 7, 2021 12:22 AM

I've read "Take Me Out" is in the works as a movie. Which Hollywood stars would be willing to go full-frontal for the lengthy shower scenes, excluding the actors who've already gone full-on in a movie or tv show?

I'd like to be working on that production.

by Anonymousreply 409June 7, 2021 12:41 AM

r406, are you saying that Equity actually allows directors to request actors audition in the nude in a call-back (2nd audition) situation?

I think not.

by Anonymousreply 410June 7, 2021 12:53 AM

[quote]I've read "Take Me Out" is in the works as a movie. Which Hollywood stars would be willing to go full-frontal for the lengthy shower scenes, excluding the actors who've already gone full-on in a movie or tv show?

Boy do you live in a fantasy world.

by Anonymousreply 411June 7, 2021 2:05 AM

I saw this in Florida and experienced for the first time male frontal nudity, and to this day recall the beautiful dicks of Haskell King and Sebastian LaCause, both of whom were frequently full frontal later in other NYC productions, but Matthew Montelongo possessed by far the greatest cock of any Take Me Out actor.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 412June 7, 2021 2:14 AM

R410, I'm not R406 but technically yes, Equity will allow that. It's done with a lot of provisions.

[quote](3) Nudity at Auditions (Principal and/or Chorus Auditions) shall not be permitted except with the express written permission of Actors' Equity and shall be subject to the following guidelines:

[quote](a) Actor shall not disrobe, in whole or in part, until after the Actor has been auditioned as a Principal Actor or Chorus Singer and/or Chorus Dancer; and,

[quote](b) A Stage Manager or an official Equity representative must be present; and,

[quote](c) The direct professional and artistic capacity of all persons present must be attested to by the Producer in writing to Equity at the time the written permission is requested (i.e., Producer, Director, Choreographer).

See the catch is, Equity has to agree to allow it.

On the other hand, SAG/AFTRA for film/tv etc.

[quote]A performer may not be fully nude or perform simulated sex acts in any audition. If nudity is required for a role, it is permissible for a producer to request to view a performer’s partially exposed body during the audition process in a “modesty garment audition”

And (as a summary) beyond that, only essential casting people may see it, you can always bring a friend or anyone else you want (pretty much) with you to make you feel more comfortable, you can only photograph it with an actual camera if the person gives permission (Etc.) and it has to be the FINAL audition.

All of this goes out the window if the role is actually just being naked (like a body double.)

[quote]I've read "Take Me Out" is in the works as a movie.

It's been "in the works" for about 18-ish years and nothing has come of it. At one point Ben Affleck was trying to get the rights. If the play is a hit this go-round then it's more likely to happen thanks to streaming services, BUT as for frontal nudity by the actors -- they'd do it -- with prosthetics or something else. I seriously doubt any actor big enough to book it for a film would agree to showing their junk unless everyone is played by Chris Messina at which point he'd probably insist on it.

by Anonymousreply 413June 7, 2021 2:19 AM

Interesting, r413!

Thank you.

by Anonymousreply 414June 7, 2021 2:31 AM

It's hard to avoid the full frontal on stage. Even if they raise a wall to waist height the balcony could probably still see. The movie won't have to show anything.

by Anonymousreply 415June 7, 2021 2:47 AM

David Pevsner would volunteer as well.

by Anonymousreply 416June 7, 2021 6:46 AM

A few stage actors who work did the movie version of "Naked Boys Singing". One danced with Madonna and at least one still did stage work in NY and regionals after the film came out.

by Anonymousreply 417June 7, 2021 6:47 AM

R415 There might be that kind of editing that kept folks from seeing Mandy Patinkin's junk in 'Yentl". Did John Shea (WEHT?) go full-frontal in the Tovah Feldshuh Broadway production as "Avigdor, Wait!"?

by Anonymousreply 418June 7, 2021 6:49 AM

Colin Morgan ("Merlin") had a full frontal in "A Prayer For My Daughter" at the Young Vic Theatre (UK) in 2008.

There aren't any full frontal photos, but the guys at FM Forums who saw it said he has a good-sized uncut cock.

by Anonymousreply 421June 7, 2021 2:23 PM

They're reviving that naked Camp Morning Wood musical this month I think.

by Anonymousreply 422June 7, 2021 3:46 PM

R420 I saw a small East Village production of Yentl maybe 10 to 12 years ago where Avigdor got naked, which was a pleasant surprise.

by Anonymousreply 423June 7, 2021 4:46 PM

That's the whole point of the scene, Yentl can't get undressed as the guys did.

by Anonymousreply 424June 7, 2021 4:53 PM

R424 But it just felt like such a mid America synagogue basement community theater production that I wasn’t expecting it to go there. Especially as it was in a room that looked like a basement with chairs around the edge and theater in the round and that scene took place right in front of me and I could easily have reached out and given him a hand job.

by Anonymousreply 425June 7, 2021 5:05 PM

If there is nudity required in the show they WILL ABSOLUTELY have you strip down. They have to make sure you don't have some hideous mark or deformity. For artistic reasons they can do this.

by Anonymousreply 426June 7, 2021 5:09 PM

Yes, Equity will allow nudity at callbacks. SAG-AFTRA has all sorts of rules. They now have special people hired, named intimacy coordinators (or counselors) to try to make things easier for the nude actors, sometimes even choreographing moves, discussing where you can touch in bedroom scenes, etc.

by Anonymousreply 427June 7, 2021 5:30 PM

R412, can you tell me more about Haskell King's cock? I have seen him around at auditions and readings and think he's really mysterious and sexy.

by Anonymousreply 428June 8, 2021 3:24 AM

R428, his cock was beautiful. I saw him in Take Me Out. But did you see him in this downtown one-man play called Afterclap? It took place in this tiny theater and the play started with him with his ass to the audience, waking up, turning over and revealing a condom on his wilting erection. He pulled the condom off (with effort), then he walked into the audience to pee offstage. The cock passed me and it was mesmerizing--large, with a big cut head. His body was beautiful. He peed and walked past us again and the thing still had some stiffness.

by Anonymousreply 429June 8, 2021 11:53 PM

JFC now I have to go beat off. Thanks, R412!

by Anonymousreply 430June 10, 2021 2:53 AM

Nudity on stage never did anything for me. It takes a certain amount of arrogance to get up and do that. That alone would turn me off.

by Anonymousreply 431June 10, 2021 7:33 AM

Jeremy Sisto was in a nude shower scene in one production of Take Me Out. I would have flown across the country to see that.

by Anonymousreply 435June 10, 2021 5:24 PM

Back in college (Syracuse, 1980s), the theater department staged 'Equus.' The small actor who played Alan Strang was cute enough, but the director decided to darken the stage lighting during the nude scenes.

But what truly fascinated me was the strikingly handsome and tall guy portraying the main horse (a few had been recruited from the athletics dept.). The wire head-pieces were enough of a fetish, but the costume designer had all the horse/men shirtless in various-tinted form-fitting brown corduroy pants with flared cuffs to resemble hooves (high metal-framed boots).

At one point after the main 'horse' gets 'ridden' by Alan, I noticed a more pronounced bulge in the 'horse's pants. I didn't see him get hard on a repeat viewing closing night, but attended the cast party, where my flirtations got him into my (thankfully single) dorm room, where he proved his size and ride-ability.

After our terrific sex, I asked him about his possible onstage erection; he confirmed it. "Not every night," he added.

My pseudo-equine romance continued for months.

(photo is an example, not the production I described.)

by Anonymousreply 441June 11, 2021 3:29 AM

R440 Don’t we usually refer to those as dimples, or was this something all together different?

by Anonymousreply 442June 11, 2021 5:48 AM

I wish the original production in NY had someone as cute as Sisto. The cutest guy was Fumusa and I still want to know why he refused to transfer to Broadway. The only member of the cast who did not go. He didn't want to be seen naked on Broadway? His replacement to be charitable was poor.

by Anonymousreply 443June 11, 2021 6:27 AM

"The Changing Room" back in the 1970s -- John Lithgow got a Tony and was naked, along with a lot of the cast, including George Hearn , John Tillinger (before he went into directing), Paul Rudd, Rex Robbins (Angela Lansbury's Herbie in "Gypsy") and Richard Masur ("Hold me, David" from original "One Day at a Time"). I saw a revival at a theater school in NY a few years ago, where most of the guys were turned upstage during their scenes so not to be seen full-frontal. It's an interesting show, but lots of words not recognizable to Americans about rugby. Anyone see the original and remembrances of the cast?

The original Paul Rudd stopped acting and must have withdrawn from Equity before he passed away about 10 years ago. He was a very good actor and good-looking as well. I saw him as the Gentleman Caller in the "Glass Menagerie" with Maureen Stapleton and Rip Torn.

I saw THE CHANGING ROOM on Broadway. Long time ago and I don't remember much except it was all fairly unintelligible what with the heavy northern England accents, slang and rugby rules. The actors were mostly unappealing character actors and the nudity, when it happened, was as non-sexual as can be imagined. The actors' bodies were all extremely muddy, bruised and bloody. I don't specifically remember John Lithgow or Paul Rudd, though I eventually became fans of both.

I think this show was before I saw Lithgow in the wonderfully funny MY FAT FRIEND with George Rose and Lynn Redgrave and Rudd in a few shows at Circle in the Square, including the upthread mentioned THE GLASS MENAGERIE and ROMEO AND JULIET. Rudd was a very handsome and ubiquitous young leading man on the NY stages in the 1970s and I remember him also playing one of the leads in a short-lived NY-filmed TV series called BEACON HILL, an unsuccessful rip-off of UPSTAIRS/DOWNSTAIRS. I wonder why he left show business? I believe he lived a quiet married life in Connecticut as a husband, father and teacher.

by Anonymousreply 460June 11, 2021 5:14 PM

I saw him in the good revival of Ah, Wilderness! at Circle in the Square with the very cute Richard Bachus who I thought was going on to a Keir Dullea career but kind of disappeared.

I saw Scott Bakula nude many times. Not on stage - we shared a dressing room. (He had a supporting role to my lead, so there. It was a big cast and I suggested he could share with me.) His muscular butt and average but-eager-looking cock were on display. A dressing room was like a locker room to him. I remember that he was average but the head was especially attractive, for some reason. Cut. Nice, hairy chest. Mesomorph. Claims 6'. Well, maybe. Or not.

One woman he was fucking stood in the wings once downstage right when he was onstage and opened her dressing gown to him, wearing nothing underneath. I was upstage and saw her. He stumbled a bit. Not a bad guy, just completely ambition-focused and impersonal. If he was bright he didn't bother to show it.

by Anonymousreply 473June 11, 2021 7:11 PM

Wow, my friends and I found that copy of Viva in the woods when I was a kid and I was fascinated and turned on by the Ben Murphy spread. It’s possibly the first male oriented nude pictures I saw and the first of a sexual nature. It must have imprinted on me as his looks basically became my physical ideal of attractiveness for men. I knew the magazine wasn’t Playboy or Hustler, but until now I didn’t know the name or have I seen the spread since the 70s, so thanks to who ever posted it and solved the mystery. I thought it was maybe a magazine I recall being named After Hours, but I think that was the only copy I had ever see.

by Anonymousreply 474June 11, 2021 8:26 PM

Most actors are exhibitionists. Some of them mind stripping off but most don't.

by Anonymousreply 475June 11, 2021 8:38 PM

^ Especially if it means losing a part. Actors want to be seen.

by Anonymousreply 476June 11, 2021 8:45 PM

Something like that, R475 but theater is thought of in a different way than film/tv.

You're more likely to see a name actor nude on stage than on the screen. With film and television that frontal will live on forever when it's screen-capped and placed around the internet. That opens the actor up to a whole new level of judgment (especially since it will always be attached to them in searches) and most of them don't want that.

Of course every now and then some crafty person may record something but even then it's rarely as clear as it would be if it were captured on film in an environment where it's designed to be captured.

by Anonymousreply 477June 11, 2021 9:14 PM

I don't know where you got all your misinformation R446, but Nicole Kidman was definitely nude in THE BLUE ROOM. As I recall, it was a brief moment in dim lighting, and she certainly wasn't facing full front, but she was nude on stage.

by Anonymousreply 478June 11, 2021 9:51 PM

I am r111 and r460. This thread has gone on so long that I now see that I've posted twice on it about seeing THE CHANGING ROOM in my youth. And believe me, I love character actor hot daddies, but there were none in this cast in this production that turned me on, nude or not. I used to even have a bit of a crush on Joey Tillinger when I worked with him as he was morphing from character actor to director but he made no impression on me in THE CHANGING ROOM. It was an UNSEXY play, unjustly sold on male nudity, believe me.

by Anonymousreply 482June 11, 2021 10:19 PM

by Anonymousreply 483June 11, 2021 10:21 PM

R473, interesting remembrance about Bakula. I like that he treated the dressing room as a locker room, causally nude. But the reflection that there wasn't much there personality-wise is disappointing.

I've enjoyed Scott's work on TV and just today, my CD for the musical Romance/Romance arrived (starring Bakula nd Alison Fraser)... yes, the CD. I used to love the show, had it on cassette rec'd an email from a record label for musicals recently, R/R was included.

by Anonymousreply 500June 12, 2021 4:46 PM

I do remember '73 so does that mean he shaved 5 years off his age?

by Anonymousreply 501June 12, 2021 4:47 PM

Clearly there is some confusion. Is '68 really correct?

by Anonymousreply 502June 12, 2021 4:50 PM

R502, Let's ask Andrew Rannells.

by Anonymousreply 503June 12, 2021 4:53 PM

Mike probably kept it from Rannells.

by Anonymousreply 504June 12, 2021 4:57 PM

About the only thing he kept from Rannells, including the fact that Mike was a whore. When I saw him in the Rudnick play at LCT, a gaggle of old queens behind me wouldn't stop praising his agility at orgies they had attended.

by Anonymousreply 505June 12, 2021 5:42 PM

R505, someone who has consensual sex at orgies is not a "whore" unless they charge money for it. Please get your terminology straight, you turd.

by Anonymousreply 506June 12, 2021 6:54 PM

Oh Mike's a nice guy and a good lay. Get over it.

by Anonymousreply 507June 12, 2021 6:57 PM

I gotta say that the nudity displayed by Doyle in that Paul Rudnick play was truly gratuitous. WEHT Rudnick's sense of humor? His Twitter zingers are sophomoric at best. Has he had any plays or screenplays produced in recent years or is he still just hired to dust up others' jokes?

by Anonymousreply 508June 12, 2021 7:42 PM

Mike naked anywhere is not gratuitous. He's a work of art.

by Anonymousreply 509June 12, 2021 8:20 PM

R508, the whole point of the gratuitous nudity in that Paul Rudnick play with Mike Doyle was that it was completely, totally gratuitous. That was the joke, and in my opinion, it was a funny joke that also gave us the golden opportunity to see Mike naked. A win-win situation, one might say.

by Anonymousreply 510June 12, 2021 8:47 PM

Speaking of Mike Doyle and nudity (but not his own in this case), in 2002 he appeared in an Off-Broadway play called BURNING BLUE with a beautiful actor named Bill Dawes, who was fully nude in it. Bill got a lot of very positive reaction for his performance and his gorgeous, naked body. The New York Post ran an article by Michael Riedel about some backstage drama at the show. It mentioned Dawes' ample endowment, and after that article appeared, Mike said -- not with malice at all, but with humor -- "Now everybody wants to hire Bill Dawes!"

I was going to link to the article, but I don't want to give the Post any traffic, so here is the first part of it, and I'll post the second part momentarily.

-------

NAKED AGGRESSION – ‘BURNING’ GOES DOWN IN FLAMES

There was plenty of drama at “Burning Blue,” D.M.W. Greer’s off-Broadway play about the hot-button issue of gays in the military.

Unfortunately for the critics and audiences who found its take on the don’t-ask-don’t-tell policy rather tiresome, most of the drama took place off-stage.

During the short but volatile run of “Burning Blue,” which closed this weekend, the actors clashed bitterly with the director (in one instance, over the size of an actor’s penis), stage managers yelled at actors for not sticking to the script – and one performer was dismissed for punching a hole in his dressing room wall.

One actor pins the blame for the “toxic” backstage environment on director John Hickok and an “inexperienced” producer, George De Marco.

“We were a ship without a captain,” says the actor.

De Marco declined comment, but Hickok says if anyone is at fault, it’s the actors.

“They changed the script and the blocking during the run, which is prohibited by Actors Equity,” he says. “They experimented with stuff on stage, and they ignored the stage managers when they were told to stop.”

The director butted heads with several cast members, especially Bill Dawes, an up-and-coming young actor who was widely praised for his performance as Air Force pilot Charlie Trumbo.

Dawes appeared naked on stage, and as nightly gasping from the audience attested, he is amply endowed.

On at least one occasion, he came on stage even more endowed than usual.

Hickok accused him of “fluffing” himself before the show and told him not to do it again.

Says Dawes, “I hate to break it to him, but I never fluffed. Given the comments he made in rehearsal, maybe he has penis envy.”

The actor says Hickok regularly made fun of his God-given attributes, calling him “Big Charlie” and snickering, “Why don’t you put a harness on that thing?”

by Anonymousreply 511June 12, 2021 9:01 PM

Part two of article referenced above:

Two sources support Dawes’ account, one saying, “I suppose it’s better to be on the receiving end of big-penis comments than small-penis comments, but it made Bill feel self-conscious and it was awkward for the rest of us.”

Hickok insists he never made such remarks. “The only thing I ever did was give him a note about his flaccidity,” he says. “Actors like to make the most of their assets – but in this case, it was inappropriate.”

Another point of contention was Dawes’ underwear.

He was directed to wear Happy Face underwear, but sometimes came on stage wearing American flag underwear because it got a bigger laugh.

One night, a stage manager chewed him out during the performance for the costume change.

Dawes yelled back and, in a huff, threw Ricola mints at the stage manager. According to Hickok, he also punched “a basketball-sized hole in the dressing room wall.”

Dawes was dismissed the next day, but several of the actors, led by the show’s star, Chad Lowe, rallied to his defense, and he was allowed to perform this past weekend.

“I did not throw any mints,” says Dawes, adding that the damage to the wall was minimal.

Said one of his fellow actors: “A lot of things led up to the altercation, and we felt Bill was not really at fault. He’s a consummate professional and a very talented actor, and we didn’t want to lose him.”

This actor says the cast “felt Hickok and the management were blaming us for the bad reviews.”

Hickok regrets that “Burning Blue” was an unhappy experience for the cast and says he’d like to “take them out for a beer and put it all behind us.”

[quote] Wikipedia says he was born in 1972, but he was actually born in 1968.

I think is R499 is more than likely correct, because a couple of articles about Mike mention that before going to Julliard in 1994, he had obtained a B.S. degree in economics from Georgetown University. And there's a candid photo of him in Georgetown's 1990 annual with the notation "CAS '90" - which means "College of Arts & Sciences Class of 1990." .. And since most people graduate from college at age 21-22, that would correlate to having been born in 1968.

But regardless of his real age, I think Mike looks great. It just makes him a hot daddy.

by Anonymousreply 513June 12, 2021 10:46 PM

Mike you've been holding out on me! But yes you are a hot daddy.

by Anonymousreply 514June 12, 2021 11:20 PM

I saw Burning Blue and Dawes did have a long completely unabashed nude scene and was as impressive as everyone says and is a really good actor.

by Anonymousreply 515June 12, 2021 11:31 PM

Mike

by Anonymousreply 516June 13, 2021 12:21 AM

R508, if you had seen the play, the nude scene was a spoof of gratutious male nudity. In fact, when Mike comes out, the other actor, playing the queen Mr. Charles of Palm Springs, proclaims, "And now...gratuitous male nudity!" It was MEANT to be gratuitous. And it was also very funny.

by Anonymousreply 517June 13, 2021 1:24 AM

I’m not R508, but I saw the play and I thought the nudity was unfunny and actually embarrassing. And I say this as someone who usually loves nudity onstage.

by Anonymousreply 518June 13, 2021 1:27 AM

r508, Rudnick has a new book out, jumping onboard the gay romance novel train.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 519June 13, 2021 1:28 AM

Well, R518, that wasn't true for a lot of the older women in the audience, I noticed, who got a big kick out of the nude scene. And they're supposed to be the pearl clutchers, not gay men.

by Anonymousreply 520June 13, 2021 1:30 AM

Did B.D. Wong show the wang in "M. Butterfly"? I know he did a nude scene. If he did that would be him, Mike Doyle, & Daniel Sujata all regulars on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit "all nude on stage.

by Anonymousreply 521June 13, 2021 2:08 AM

Wong showed his ass only--that is, to the audience. He showed his dick to his co-star John Lithgow only.

by Anonymousreply 522June 13, 2021 2:12 AM

Well it still counts a nudity.

by Anonymousreply 523June 13, 2021 2:21 AM

Yes, R523. I was just answering R522's question of whether Wong showed wang.

by Anonymousreply 524June 13, 2021 2:34 AM

Sorry, that was the question posed by R521.

by Anonymousreply 525June 13, 2021 2:35 AM

I felt bad for Doyle when they wrote him out of SVU. They did a good, splashy job of it but those recurring Dick Wolf paychecks often meant the difference as to whether an an actor could afford to live in Manhattan or had to move to Staten Island or New Jersey.

by Anonymousreply 526June 13, 2021 2:45 AM

What do you mean they did "a good splashy job of it"? They killed him off?

by Anonymousreply 527June 13, 2021 3:08 AM

Mike Doyle is a recurring character on NEW AMSTERDAM.

by Anonymousreply 528June 13, 2021 3:13 AM

Yes, it was during a season finale, his character got stabbed in the heart and he got a lot publicity for it. But I bet he would have rather had the regular paycheck.

by Anonymousreply 529June 13, 2021 3:13 AM

"Dick Wolf paychecks often meant the difference as to whether an an actor could afford to live in Manhattan or had to move to Staten Island"

Please, Mary, R526. No actor moves to Staten Island.

by Anonymousreply 530June 13, 2021 3:44 AM

Have your ever been an actor, r530? Desperation knows no bounds.

by Anonymousreply 531June 13, 2021 3:47 AM

Not when it comes to Staten Island. There are too many other places to live.

by Anonymousreply 532June 13, 2021 4:07 AM

Staten Island is also very Republican, almost like being in many parts of upstate NY. Quite a lot of actors don't want to deal with that as well, plus possibly a train or bus ride to the ferry, then a subway ride to midtown where most theaters are.

by Anonymousreply 533June 13, 2021 4:54 AM

[quote] actors don't want to deal with that as well

Yes, actors are very intolerant.

by Anonymousreply 534June 13, 2021 5:05 AM

R523, OP's post specifies actors who have gone "completely nude" on stage. So it presumably means those who have done full frontal and not just ass.

by Anonymousreply 535June 13, 2021 12:09 PM

Did anyone see the notorious 1999 CORPUS CHRISTI by Terrence McNally at Manhattan Theatre Club? IIRC young Anson Mount as Jesus and Josh Lucas as Judas were both seen briefly nude. Has it been mentioned upthread?

Bless Terrence, he often gave us lovely nude scenes.

by Anonymousreply 536June 13, 2021 12:32 PM

Anson Mount is a name that makes me blush even if wearing a full set of clothes, I can’t imagine what it would be like with him naked.

by Anonymousreply 537June 13, 2021 12:45 PM

Jesse Williams recently confirmed on tv "Take Me Out" is coming to Broadway soon and he'll be naked in it. Very good lookin guy -- hope no more tattoos besides those on his legs. Why tamper with an already smokin' bod?

by Anonymousreply 538June 22, 2021 8:56 PM

[quote]Anson Mount

It took a minute to figure out he was the guy who gave Charlotte crabs on SATC.

Wow he aged badly.

by Anonymousreply 539June 22, 2021 11:20 PM

The cast for Take me out may change again...scheduling conflicts.

I hope none of them shave their junk, I would ask for a refund.

by Anonymousreply 540June 23, 2021 12:57 PM

Jesse Williams is the star and cleared his schedule and left his show for it, and seems like the only attractive one anyway.

by Anonymousreply 541June 23, 2021 1:57 PM

Williams holds no appeal to me.

I like the latin guy.

by Anonymousreply 542June 23, 2021 4:37 PM

I thought Robert M. Jimenez, playing one of the two Latino guys, was one of the hottest in the shower scene in "Take Me Out" who isn't usually mentioned here.

by Anonymousreply 543June 23, 2021 4:59 PM

The guys in Take Me Out need to be circumcised. If I were at the final nude auditions I would eliminate anybody who's intact. It's not right to inflict uncircumcised penises on audiences. Nobody wants to see that.

by Anonymousreply 544June 23, 2021 6:50 PM

Oh, leave something for everybody. Focus on your favorite flavor!

by Anonymousreply 545June 23, 2021 7:16 PM

Oh fuck off, and fuck you, R544.

by Anonymousreply 546June 23, 2021 9:31 PM

There should be signs in the theater lobbies warning if there are uncircumcised penises to be seen in the performance.

by Anonymousreply 547June 24, 2021 2:31 AM

I wouldn't mind seeing uncircumcised penises in a production. I never see them where I live.

by Anonymousreply 548June 24, 2021 3:30 AM

Uncircumcised is gross! Ewww! Animal cock!

by Anonymousreply 549June 24, 2021 9:37 AM

I know right? Like on a dog.

by Anonymousreply 550June 24, 2021 10:03 AM

Where do you live, R548?

by Anonymousreply 551June 24, 2021 10:13 AM

Some real freaks with baby-girl tastes in here.

REAL gay men love uncut cocks as much as cut cocks. Because they're awesome.

by Anonymousreply 552June 24, 2021 2:39 PM

Still another thread devolves.

by Anonymousreply 553June 24, 2021 6:56 PM

R552- You sound like a bottom.

by Anonymousreply 554June 24, 2021 7:21 PM

Generally, a thread ages badly after the 400th post.

by Anonymousreply 555June 24, 2021 8:03 PM

Speaking of which, how is David Pevsner?

by Anonymousreply 556June 24, 2021 8:50 PM

Pevsner must be 68 by now and still doing pornographic shoots and strip dancing at nursing homes when they are not showing reruns of the Merv Griffin show.

by Anonymousreply 557June 24, 2021 10:04 PM

R557, Arthur Treacher had a strong fan base.

by Anonymousreply 558June 24, 2021 10:58 PM

There was an off-Broadway play many years ago set in a summer camp for men in which every cast member got naked. There was one guy who could have thrown that peen over his shoulder on Halloween and go as a gas pump.

by Anonymousreply 559June 30, 2021 12:35 AM

R559 was this the play?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 560June 30, 2021 4:50 AM

My theatre fantasy: I would like to see Take Me Out with an entire cast of intact cocks.

by Anonymousreply 561June 30, 2021 5:33 AM

The problem would be there would be no audience.

by Anonymousreply 562June 30, 2021 9:21 AM

R560, that show was produced very recently, not "many years ago," as the poster specified.

by Anonymousreply 563June 30, 2021 12:57 PM

Nobody’s gonna go see the fugs at R560’s link.

by Anonymousreply 564June 30, 2021 1:38 PM

R564 Right? We only wanna see celebrities naked, or at least EXTREMELY good looking nobodies! Otherwise, why bother?

by Anonymousreply 565June 30, 2021 3:41 PM

R560-No. Years before that. in the 80/s.

by Anonymousreply 566June 30, 2021 3:46 PM

The cast that did "Camp Morning Wood" originally a couple of years ago was much cuter. One or two of the holdovers are pretty cute.

by Anonymousreply 567June 30, 2021 6:10 PM

When is Theatre coming back to various cities?

Naked actors matter.

by Anonymousreply 568July 11, 2021 8:33 AM

Theater is back! By the fall it should be in full swing nationwide... assuming the Delta Burke doesn't send us back into lockdown.

by Anonymousreply 569July 11, 2021 8:39 AM

Hey, I met Delta Burke at the Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS Annual Flea Market when she was appearing in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and was not only charming, she was absolutely gorgeous in person.

by Anonymousreply 570July 11, 2021 9:07 AM

Correction: Assuming politicians do not send us back into lockdown.

by Anonymousreply 571July 11, 2021 9:08 AM

This country was never truly in lockdown. People bitched as if they were but they weren't. Now, can we go back to talking about nude actors?

by Anonymousreply 572July 11, 2021 5:20 PM

R572 We were on lockdown and not because of politicians but because we didn't wanna fucking die!

Now we can get back to nude actors on stage. Haven't y'all discussed all of them by now? We are at 573!

All that's left now are the unimpressive tiny-dicked whores not worth mentioning.

by Anonymousreply 573July 11, 2021 10:58 PM

Richard Kline from "Three's Company" apparently did a nude scene early in his career at Lincoln Center, which involved him getting out of the water, and apparently sometimes involved, from his describing it on a tv show, as what was later referred to on "Seinfeld" as "shrinkage". He was very cute and hairy (at least shirtless from "Three's Company).

by Anonymousreply 574July 12, 2021 3:19 AM

We have mentioned tiny dicked whores R573...have you forgotten Daniel Radcliffe?

by Anonymousreply 575July 12, 2021 8:36 AM

Kevin Kline (I don't think any relation to Richard Kline), apparently appeared nude in "Loose Ends" in a beach scene at the beginning when the show played pre-Broadway in Washington D.C., but appeared in a bathing suit on Broadway. Did they think the sight of Kevin's short and curlies would traumatize NYers? Did anyone see him in DC?

by Anonymousreply 576July 12, 2021 5:58 PM

R575 Touche'!!!

by Anonymousreply 577July 12, 2021 6:32 PM

Unless you're good looking, with a huge schlong, keep your fucking clothes on! Nobody wants to see that shit.

by Anonymousreply 578July 12, 2021 6:35 PM

I would much rather see Kevin Kline nude than Richard Kline.

by Anonymousreply 579July 12, 2021 7:27 PM

It looks like you missed your opportunity to see them both, unfortunately.

by Anonymousreply 580July 12, 2021 7:52 PM

Kline's tush in on display in that film he made with Tracey Ullman years ago though.

Anthony Perkins and later his replacement Keith Michell (who liked to receive backstage visitors when he was nude) both showed their tushes in "Romantic Comedy" on Broadway.

by Anonymousreply 581July 12, 2021 7:56 PM

Keith Michell actually showed his front as well on stage in "Abelard and Heloise" opposite also nude Diana Rigg, years before "Hair". It may have been fairly dimly lit though.

by Anonymousreply 582July 12, 2021 7:57 PM

Michell, ma belle ---- (ok, beau) was very hot back then.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 583July 14, 2021 4:32 AM

R579, I agree.

by Anonymousreply 584July 14, 2021 6:47 AM

Hopefully the guys in "Take Me Out" don't have too many tattoos. Jesse Williams i think has one or more on his legs -- hopefully none higher up, as he looks pretty hot as it is.

by Anonymousreply 585July 15, 2021 6:23 PM

If it is a shaved pube and tragic tattoo fest it will flop.

by Anonymousreply 586July 15, 2021 7:20 PM

R586 Agreed. Nobody wants to see that, plus it would be inauthentic since shaved bodies and multiple tats is a modern phenom. This is a period piece addresses subject matter (extreme homophobia due to no "out" pro athletes) that necessarily makes it NOT modern.

by Anonymousreply 587July 16, 2021 8:07 AM

If you’re going to be nude in public, be natural, no manscaping. The grooming draws attention to itself. I don’t want to be distracted from the storyline.

by Anonymousreply 588July 16, 2021 10:09 AM

Hey, if I'm asked to believe a female Julius Caesar or a black Macbeth, I will certainly believe a shaved or tatted baseball player in 2002. I would be staring at his dick and ass anyway.

by Anonymousreply 589July 16, 2021 11:21 AM

I won't even look at the dick if he is all inked and ugly.

by Anonymousreply 590July 16, 2021 12:17 PM

Doubt if he would be on the stage.

by Anonymousreply 591July 16, 2021 12:32 PM

The bootleg of the 2003 OBP in circulation is rather grainy.

Bootlegs of the upcoming revival will surely be much clearer.

by Anonymousreply 592July 16, 2021 3:37 PM

If there even will be a bootleg.

by Anonymousreply 593July 16, 2021 3:53 PM

What's OBP, R592?

by Anonymousreply 594July 16, 2021 3:59 PM

Ah yes, Off-Broadway production. Lovely still images from that as well.

by Anonymousreply 595July 16, 2021 4:00 PM

R594, No, Original Broadway Production.

by Anonymousreply 596July 16, 2021 4:26 PM

Ah. Because the images that I saw predominately came from the Off-Broadway production.

by Anonymousreply 597July 16, 2021 4:27 PM

[quote] Bootlegs of the upcoming revival will surely be much clearer.

Tiny theatre, house people will be on alert.

by Anonymousreply 598July 16, 2021 8:05 PM

R598, Not to worry, fans of the play will know when the Act I shower scene occurs and cell phones are easy to obscure.

The ushers cannot be everywhere at once.

by Anonymousreply 599July 16, 2021 8:12 PM

The theatre isn't that tiny, R598. It has wide rows and it's a steep rise. Your neighbor in the next seat would know you were recording easier than an usher. But then, considering the audience will be 90 percent gay men, I'm sure we'll have competing bootleg versions.
