75! I had no idea.

God Bless Tim Curry.

He's not doing well to judge from the zoom script reading of Rocky Horror in October.

A few years ago he had multiple strokes, R3.
Frank N. Furter being a wheelchair-bound septuagenarian makes me feel very sad and very old.

He’s aged badly.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 21, 2021 7:27 PM |
He should get out of that wheelchair and hit the gym!

Curry is doing as well as any year since his stroke. The Zoom reading of Rocky Horror was a shitshow because Little Nell kept stealing his lines and giving him no patience.
The results were hilarious, though.

His reading of the line "I didn't make him for you" seemed almost deliberately affectless and lackluster, like he was completely checked out.

Loved him in Clue and Congo. Happy Birthday Tim!

He should have been nominated for an Oscar for "Rocky Horror Picture Show." He absolutely burns up the screen with charisma. He's so funny, weird, sexy, tragic.

I thought he died already. He’s still here with us?
Well, then, happy birthday!

I adore him. Such a good actor. I miss him. 🎂🎂🎂🎂

I had such a crush on him in Clue, & just rewatched It a month ago. He was the best Pennywise!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 21, 2021 10:18 PM |
Is he still searching for his grail?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 21, 2021 10:27 PM |
He was so awesome in Legend. The best Devil ever.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 21, 2021 10:34 PM |
Just for the record: he's a gay, right?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 21, 2021 11:33 PM |
He's never officially come out, but it seems definite, despite his "relationship" with Annie Potts in the late '80s.

Oh yes.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 22, 2021 3:27 PM |
Well, how bout that!

I’m shivering with anticipation

That Zoom reading of "Rocky Horror" was an ordeal. I don't think anyone was stealing his lines. He was barely functional, and there were huge lags while they waited for him to come up with his lines, until finally either someone whispered them to him or said them for him.
I agree that his performance in the film--and in so many others--was incredible. Love him to death, but they should never have attempted the live reading with him. :(

His performance in Rocky Horror is the definition of a star turn. So charismatic and full of energy. I've loved him in everything I've ever seen him in which you can't say about a lot of actors.
He was really great on an episode of Tales From the Crypt where he plays three members of the same family a la Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor and it was genius.

I honestly thought he was dead!
If anyone has Audible account, his reading of A Christmas Carol is great. I try to listen to it every year. His wheeziness and somewhat slurred (maybe that's not the right word, but there's something off about his voice), which would be kind of distracting for any other story, works for CC.

Carol Burnett enjoyed working with Tim on "Annie":
I think it comes across that we all had so much fun doing it. The most fun was the working with Tim Curry, who played Rooster, and Bernadette Peters, who played Lily St. Regis. The chemistry was there right from the beginning, and John Huston was very good about letting us go with it. He believed that you hire a person because of what they can bring to the movie, so you don’t try to tell them how to do it. Annie was shot very quickly. I don’t think we did more two takes. That was terrific because that’s the way I like to work.

I’ve never seen a corset worn better. 💜 you, Tim!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 22, 2021 6:51 PM |
And I don’t think you can read people or situations, R22.
It seems clear to me that they all agreed to have Little Nell Campbell read Frank N. Furter’s lines if Tim Curry struggled to deliver them. But Curry COULD deliver many of them and Campbell simply wasn’t giving him enough time So she was rushing with the pacing and Curry rarely got to say anything.
How do you explain why Tim Curry called Campbell a “stupid bitch,” r22? Your theory doesn’t account.

I walked his dog.
Nice man but very grand.

Some recollections may vary, R28.
