Sorry R21 but R6 is right. Vicki was a republican in the late 80s & stated her beliefs on several episodes of Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher (he had her on with an all repub celebrity panel after an all democrat celebrity panel).

She was a card carrying member of the religious right doing the 700 Club multiple times over the last couple of decades. her fellow TCBS co- stars Tim Conway, Harvey Korman & Lyle Waggoner have also done the show numerous times (Lyle even promoted his star trailers). The only one who never showed up on there was Carol Burnett who they still gushed over when she helped get rid of the porn theatres in NYC.

Vicki made headlines (when she got her short lived talk show) trashing all of the left wingers but her show never caught on. Lawrence had trouble getting celebrity guests on her program & had to resort to other topics that weren't provocative (another thing she trashed Donahue, Geraldo, etc. for).

I remember she did a Guinness Book Of World Records show & had interviewed the world's tallest woman 7'7" Sandy Allen. Vicki made a face towards the audience that was disrespectful of Sandy (who was good natured & an obvious fan of The Carol Burnett Show) just ignored it & spoke of her various issues. Sandy wrote about the experience in her autobiography & gives Vicki a nicer image than what I would have.

Lawrence might have been turned off by Trump but I find that hard to believe. I think she wants to be a working actress in show business & know how to play the Hollywood game. Growing up, I always thought that the gay community knew who our friends were but the way the DL drools over so many celebs with religious right connections gives me plenty of doubts.
