I agree, R17. I think a studio or a recording artist reached out to his family and promised a contract with them he could not refuse. The percentage of Idol contestants who make it big in the music world is less than 1%. I'd fly my flag on another ship as well.

Winning American Idol locks you into a very strict contract, he probably listened to all the praise he was receiving and realized he would be better off without them.
