"My name is George Maharis. And I've got a secret." Do tell, George.
Watching this fall 1965 episode of I've Got a Secret, I was surprised there were then 4.5 million color TV sets in the US. And 45 members of a 458-sized (& very white) TV audience owned a color TV set.

He was so hot

Tab Hunter was also on that show. I wonder if the queens in the audience laughed every time some closeted celeb announced that he "had a secret"

He was a bigger star than Colton Haynes will ever be.

Whatever happened to Perfecto Telles?
I found nothing on Google.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 13, 2021 3:52 AM |
R15 There's a death notice at myheritage.com for a "Perfecto Telles, Jr." with the birth-death years of "1941 - 1988."
Since the 1974 news article about the arrest states that Telles was 33-years old when that happened, then that 1941 birth year on the death notice would fit.
Maybe that could explain not finding (much of) anything.

A 47 year old gay men dying in the 1980s? What could possibly have been the cause of death?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 13, 2021 4:26 AM |
I was hoping to see a picture of Perfecto Telles.
'Perfecto' is such an extraordinary name to bear. I wonder if he lived up to it and if his perfect beauty and lovemaking made George oblivious to the sound of angry policemen entering the restroom.

Wasn't he busted twice for his men's room misbehavior?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 13, 2021 4:56 AM |
R19 The article within the link at R14 mentions Maharis' 1967 arrest for "lewd conduct" after he allegedly made a pass at a vice-squad officer in the men's room of a Hollywood restaurant, with Maharis pleading guilty to "disorderly conduct" and getting a $50 fine.

"Partners and bachelors who share an apartment" sounds like the way a discreet gay couple would have described themselves way back when
