A “hey, why don’t we try it like this?” type of suggestion for the job at hand, and Jake refused and started talking to my boyfriend in a exaggerated gay voice, and then walked away from my boyfriend and kept talking to other people in the exaggerated gay voice.

My boyfriend is gay, of course, but he isn’t remotely effeminate and doesn’t have even a hint of gay voice, so I don’t know what was up with that. My boyfriend, in telling this story, always refers to Jake as being homophobic. I don’t know if it counts as homophobia, because Jake is obviously gay, but whatever.

He can be an asshole but he can also be very nice. The problem is you never know what you're going to get on any given day. I have stories of my own and yeah, you don't want to be on his bad side but what's missing that I can contribute is, you may never know what side that is. That's what makes him tricky to deal with.

Beyond that, there are plenty of stories out there about him from people who'd know. Maybe take a trip back in time and find out what happened between him and his brother-in-law on Jarhead. That one he has actually admitted. He also mentioned being mean to Maggie on the set of Donnie Darko. Then there are plenty of stories from Nailed or (Accidental Love) as it seems to be called now .... and on and on.

That being said, I don't see anything bad about this. He has a right not to talk if he doesn't want to as long as he doesn't swear at employees or belittle them. Yeah, I also understand why he wanted to avoid the public.
