Built on an outer parcel of Katharine Hepburn's former estate, this place just won't sell. It was clearly designed to be a guest/carriage/boat house for the Hepburn estate. No one wants to pay $6 million to live above a garage on the beach. I'd be into it, but you just can't see the water from any seated position. There are great views from the kitchen sink though.

After being elevated and renovated the main house did sell, but the buyers didn't take the opportunity to buy the whole spread.

Way too expensive.

It's nice, but obviously no one wants to pay that kind of money for a carriage house despite it's star adjacent history

Also too full of emptiness/empty spaces, impossible to turn it into a cozy home

Man I liked it. I liked the before better than the after too. I guess they were just asking too much.

Look! Its twin doesn’t have two garage ports!

I love that house, r6. It's also been for sale forever, since at least 2018 per Zillow. It seems like there are only ever 8 houses for sale in Old Saybrook and they're always the same houses.
