I like the idea of staying in an airstream or some cool old camper and be able to be outside a lot.
I find a lot of folks rent campers and RV's but are there any rentals in campgrounds?
I am still a progressive but want to see Texas.

Caravans?! What are you, a Traveler???

R3, clearly. He took your lawn furniture while you were asking the question.

You may have done all the work but you did it wrong.
Those are RV's for rent, they are not docked in campgrounds, they belong to individuals. I found that bit of crap on my first search.
Back to the original question.

I’m sure they’re a whole lot more comfortable than tents.

I finally found one campground with some cabins at almost 4x the rate of hotels. AND you have to bring your own linens.

Don't know of campgrounds but there are RV rental places. I was talking to some people at a state park and they said even with the terrible gas mileage it was still cheaper to rent an RV than stay at a local motel.

OP, is this kind of what you're looking for? Not exactly renting in a campground but it is campground-like venues with "caravans" as the lodging.
The article/info is from 2018 so it might be out of date due to covid losses.

R9 Thanks now we are getting closer.
R8 maybe that used to be true but RVs rent for about 100 a day, gas costs 45, night camping costs about 50 and with Hotwire I can get a hotel for 59, much cheaper.

What, you think that there are no “progressives” in Texas? What’s it like to be inside your head, dufus?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 8, 2021 9:38 AM |
Dear idiot at R59.
No one in this thread stated that there were no progressives in Texas. Now go fuck yourself.

R9 here. Found another OP.
This place has RV hookups for travelers, tent areas, AND on-site-trailers for daily/weekly/monthly rent. They call themselves an "open air resort" so not really a campground. But it seems cool.

There's an Airstream Air B n B in Joshua Tree...looks pretty fabulous.

No, the two are not mutually exclusive, dickbrain R12.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 8, 2021 9:57 AM |
R15 Did anyone state they were mutually exclusive or do you just want to pick a fight?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 8, 2021 10:41 AM |
Thanks R13 that looks great but the tents cost way more than a hotel room.
I wonder why camping is so expensive.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 8, 2021 11:23 AM |
Thanks to those who shared.
A fucking tent costs more than a nice hotel.
I can't afford to camp.

Have you inquired at your local caravanserai, Miss OP?

Wrong gender R20

Dont you mean wrong binary?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 10, 2021 9:15 AM |
No, R22 I did not. If I had meant that I would have said that.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 10, 2021 9:26 AM |
R24 thanks but too rich for my blood.
Camping used to be cheap 200 a night is 5 star hotel price.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 10, 2021 10:26 AM |
Piss off, Miss R21.

The Colorado River empties into the Gulf of California, not the Gulf of Mexico as stated in the article.

R26 has no idea what a man is and it makes him or her or it mad.

You're better off looking on Air BNB. Lots of private campgrounds will have cute cottages and sometimes they have trailers.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 10, 2021 5:58 PM |
R24 $200 plus taxes PLUS “cleaning”? Fuck that, you can stay at a decent hotel for that. It’s probably $300/night all in.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 10, 2021 6:17 PM |
With Hotwire I can stay at an amazing hotel for half that.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 10, 2021 9:11 PM |
R32 Very generalized article and I know at least one black couple totally into camping.
