Coming out as trans can’t be too far behind now.
Who? Why?

If he’s so autistic where are his sculptures or paintings?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 5, 2021 9:25 PM |
That still doesn't explain the accent.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 5, 2021 9:27 PM |
What accent, R3?
I don’t know who Josh Thomas is.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 5, 2021 9:45 PM |
Who? John Thomas means cock. I know that much.

He's an Australian comedian (he had his own sitcom, "Please Like Me") who speaks with a bizarre English accent.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 5, 2021 9:53 PM |
isn't there a FAT lesbian Australian comic who is also autistic?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 5, 2021 9:57 PM |
For a moment, I wondered if he worked in oils or acrylics. (I'm a little slow myself!)
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 5, 2021 9:57 PM |
Hannah Gadsby - big fat lezzie aspie right?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 5, 2021 9:58 PM |
Who is she again?

I love Please Like Me and Everything’s Gonna Be OK.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 5, 2021 10:00 PM |
R9 Oh god I hate her, she's insufferable.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 5, 2021 10:00 PM |
I loved him in Please Like Me. How is he autistic? It’s based on his life.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 5, 2021 10:56 PM |
I just googled him. Apparently he's an actor. Sorry, but I'm not buying this. Acting is the last thing an autistic person would be good at.
Everyone and their grandmother gets diagnosed with 'Aspergers' or 'hight-functioning autism' now.

I like blue.

Michele Obama was also a stylish dresser. Dr. Jill just isn't. Who cares?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 5, 2021 11:58 PM |
Did he take a Buzzfeed quiz to find out?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 6, 2021 12:22 AM |
Wrong thread, R17?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 6, 2021 1:13 AM |
Anything for attention. No work at the moment?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 6, 2021 1:15 AM |
He comes across as autistic to me tbh. Is not a surprise. His latest show has a character like this too.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 6, 2021 1:16 AM |
Trendy nonsense. He’s young. He’ll get over it. We were into mood rings. We know what it is like to be young.

Everything’s Gonna Be OK season 2 premieres this week, this is an unusual promotion.

by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 6, 2021 2:03 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 6, 2021 2:24 AM |
Are you an ex of his, r25?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 6, 2021 2:36 AM |
I fear you may be right. He may indeed go trans.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 6, 2021 2:39 AM |
Very high functioning people totally integrated into society seem to be coming out more and more as autistic. It's strange - if you're successful and generally getting on with things in life what is the point in declaring this?

Is it like fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 6, 2021 11:34 PM |
I'm probably autistic. Every self-test I've taken is 75% likely or more. I have most of the characteristics but not all. When I've told friends I think I might be on the spectrum they all agree. I guess I could go get it confirmed, but I'm in my 50s, have a great understanding partner, and know how to manage around the social issues and triggers (as does he). I figured Josh was already...I guess if it puts him at peace? But also ok to just know yourself and not make a big deal of it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 6, 2021 11:48 PM |
Josh "making a big deal of it" might be helpful to someone struggling.

R22 he turns 34 in a month
by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 7, 2021 12:11 AM |
R15. Not true—I taught performance for forty years and some of my best students were clearly on the spectrum ;some openly disclosed to the class)—inhabiting someone else’s words/voice was often less frightening to them than having to speak in their own. Of course, this was mainly true for what used to be called “high-functioning” autistic people (the term du jour is “low support,” meaning needing less or fewer support(s) than people at other points on the spectrum). Counter-intuitive, I know, but in my last ten years of teaching I would usually have one or two such individuals in each of my classes. They often need boosts in confidence, but many could produce astonishingly engaged and moving work.
