He was the first British singer to be part of the Vatican Sistine Chapel choir in hundreds of years singing for the Pope. Now he directs a program reviving Florentine music from the Medici archive that hasn’t been heard in hundreds of years. His grandparents came to England from Greece and he has swarthy good looks, a deep voice and sexy British accent. What do you classical world aficionados know about him, does he play on our team?

He's non-rhotic and pronounces the word 'singing' as 'singing'.
He wears a plug in his ear so his employers can tell him what to say/

I thought after the Pedo Pope made his disdain for our relationships known for the umpteenth time that the DL would stop creating positive threads about the Catholic Church. Evidently not.

Greek men do not age well, no matter how handsome they look when young.

I'm sorry, R15. I saw the video and thought he was using a Cockney 'singin' instead of singing.
But I rewatched and realised I was mistaken.

In R10's video, Mark sounds more Irish than English to my New York City ears.

Very cute.
But, you can see the aroma of cookies wafting across his face through the entire bell ringing video.

Having spent a large part of my life in the church music biz, I'd bet dollars to donuts that he is gay -But he doesn't come across as effeminate to me. I found R1's video to be extremely interesting and was caught up in the music. Spyropoulos' beauty became secondary.
R16, I'm with you in general when it comes to the church. I have no use for Christianity. Making music in churches was a paycheck, not a passion. For many gay men a church choir is a haven, where you can be expressive and artistic without fear of being put down for it. It doesn't justify what the church has done, and continues to do, but it does explain why so many gay men end up there. If there were a secular outlet for polyphonic music, I'm sure people like us would flock to it.
