Thoughts on him? He's a musician from the UK that is often hailed as a music prodigy and he has 5 Grammy wins. I like his music even though it's not in the vein of what I normally listen to.
OP - I remember seeing him present on the Grammys, having no idea who he is because, as I approach 40 from the wrong side, I can't keep up anymore!
Anyway, is this is schtick? Does he always do a multi-instrumentalist thing for every song/performance. He's obviously VERY talented -- and that's an impressive performance. But, it does feel like it's bordering on novelty act. If he were just playing that same song, playing one instrument, with a band, I'm not sure I'd be that impressed. The song itself is... pleasant... but I imagine an album full of that sound would get a bit old.
Sorry, I'm not trying to be overly negative. No denying he's very talented and it takes a great deal of skill to perform like that. I'm just not sure that, as a singer and songwriter, there's much underneath all the showmanship.
