The nurse station scene from Exorcist III. Still look over my shoulder after I close and lock a door behind me.

Actually, for me, it was another scene from Poltergeist - the scene in the pool with the caskets coming to the surface and popping open.

When the Wicked Witch appears in the crystal ball after Dorothy sees a vision of Auntie Em. It felt like the witch was going to reach right through the tv screen.

OP, I saw your headline and came to post Poltergeist. I was terrified of the tree. Actually, the whole movie was scary.

Anyone saw this one with Stephen Dorff as a 10-year-old? The scene with the dead dog in the bed gave me nightmares for a very, very long time.

The commercial for "It's Alive". It always came on late at night when I was watching TV in a darkened room. I couldn't turn the channel fast enough.

I happened to see the music video for Thriller on tv during the day when I was 3 or 4. I was so young and I didn't understand what I was watching, but it gave me nightmares.

This scene in the 2nd season of Twin Peaks. I was in 3rd grade and was obsessed with the show but BOB and all the scenes he was in fucked me up. Still my favorite show of all time. This particular scene is scarier to me than the version that was filmed for FWWM.

The opening sequence from Murder on the Orient Express, the music, the dream sequency aspect of it, terrified me when I saw it in the theater when I was 4. I cried for a bit but actually loved the movie, it turned me into a murder mystery aficionado later. Watching it now, I still get goosebumps & creeped out.
