What is to be done ? Two biting a poop inside the White House.
Obviously rescue dogs have earned a real reputation for biting but I wouldn't hesitate to have one in the house, even if I had young children.

This is what happens when you adopt to be woke without even seeing if the dog is compatible.

by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 1, 2021 12:30 PM |
He's a rescue, a german shepherd, young and has just lost some stability with the move. He's going to react, the poor thing. I think introducing him to the White House in a slower, calmer way would be better than what they've done.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 1, 2021 12:33 PM |
Too many Republicans around are upsetting this poor guy. Get rid of them and the dog will be fine

He can't even handle his own dog?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 1, 2021 12:51 PM |
The lingering stench of fake tan and cheap, eastern European perfume set him off. They should've just burned the place down and started over again.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 1, 2021 12:52 PM |
President Biden is too feeble to handle his own dog. Can he be trusted with the country?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 1, 2021 12:53 PM |
What R3 said. It's not like he and Jill don't have money to hire a dog trainer.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 1, 2021 12:57 PM |
R6, when he's not busy low key right wing trolling (he started the Gates thread) is also peddling his wares here to the highest bidder. Is it "Hookers for Trump"? Who's your leader? Melania?

[quote] bring in a trainer
They did. After the first biting incident the dog was sent back to Delaware and given a trainer. Why they decided to reintroduce the dog back into the chaos of the WH just three weeks later was a bad decision.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 1, 2021 1:07 PM |
German Shepherds are a breed I just don't ever feel comfortable around. I've been lunged at and bitten by a rescue and if I hadn't been wearing a thick canvas shirt, he'd have drawn blood. The owner swore he really was the sweetest dog.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 1, 2021 1:10 PM |
I had a german shepherd, poor boy died last year, he was the sweetest dog but even in his old age he would get over excited about everything. He never bit anyone but I was aware that even the sweetest german shepherd isn't the type of dog to put into a high stress situation outside of police work.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 1, 2021 1:15 PM |
Probably confusion and fright from all the masked people. I knew a dog once that got skitterish seeing people with sunglasses inside his home.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 1, 2021 1:17 PM |
German shepherds are super protective of the people they perceive to be their immediate pack. Anything they perceive as a potential threat to the people they are strongly bonded with, they can easily get aggressive about.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 1, 2021 1:20 PM |
Still fewer incidents than the preventable deaths allowed by the last Administration.

by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 1, 2021 1:45 PM |
It's too bad - I really think dogs help humanize a president, whether you like or agree with them. But GS are rather high strung & aggressive, particularly with all the people who want to get close to Joe. But the older, calmer dog should stay
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 1, 2021 1:47 PM |
It would be harsh to split the dogs up, from the sounds of it they got Major as Champ was getting older and the vet advised that a younger dog can bring the spirits of an older dog up. They're a pack now and splitting them would just cause further stress.

r16, might it make a difference if the trainer was actually brought to where Major lives? Rather than sending him away from home to be trained.

The dogs might be better with the grandkids. They can adopt a cat and have her live at the WH.

[quote] might it make a difference if the trainer was actually brought to where Major lives? Rather than sending him away from home to be trained.
The Delaware estate *is* his home, not the WH. Ideally you want to train a dog, especially a rescue like Major who probably has anxiety and other issues, in a familiar, low stress locale. It sounds like the WH is just too stressful for Major if there’ve been multiple incidents and it’s best to just return him and Champ to Delaware.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | April 1, 2021 4:31 PM |
Which one pooped on the WH floor? The older dog? Why can't they stay in the residence during the day or go to doggy day care somewhere? It seems Biden likes to have them around and maybe the Oval office and West Wing is just too stressful for Major.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 1, 2021 5:16 PM |
They should leave both dogs at home, where they're comfortable. Major is clearly stressed by the WH, and no one wants this situation to be escalated into an unsafe workplace issue.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 1, 2021 5:18 PM |
This dog is better than all of us on earth. Sorry.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | April 1, 2021 11:46 PM |
I thought they sent that dog back to live at Bidens Delaware home.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 2, 2021 1:06 AM |
Poor thing, he has a very strong sense of smell and can't handle the Trump leftover smells. The WH may not be fit for a dog for another 10 or so years.

The dog is leaving far less turds on the floor than the previous administration.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 2, 2021 1:17 AM |
I'll bet he didn't act this way until they moved to the white house. He probably senses all the evil left in that place from the former guy and his whore. I just hope they are not be harsh with him. He's already had a bad enough life. If Biden wants to be harsh with someone let him have the guts to be that way with Manchin and that Republican lite bitch who pretends to be a Democrat.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 2, 2021 1:28 AM |
Dogs are unpredictable animals but German shepherds predictably bite people. The dogs should be sent to a nice farm in the country.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 2, 2021 1:30 AM |
[quote]Too many Republicans around are upsetting this poor guy. Get rid of them and the dog will be fine
Wrong. About three or four years ago, the dog gave Joe a black eye at his own home. It has nothing to do with being out of their normal environment.
German Shepherds are nightmare dogs and even worse if they are rescues. They are almost as evil as pit bulls. They bite, bark, and are always going crazy over stupid shit. They should be banned.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 2, 2021 1:36 AM |
[quote]I'll bet he didn't act this way until they moved to the white house.
Incorrect. Back in 2015 Joe got injured himself by his other German Shepherd named Champ. Both Champ and Major are German Shepherds, proving once again how violent German Shepherds are. I would never want one.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 2, 2021 1:41 AM |
The dogs need some measure of stability, which is difficult to find in the WH. They should have one person who is their handler, not whoever happens to be available at the time.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 2, 2021 2:32 AM |
Probably can’t stand the smell of Jill Biden’s cooking!
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 2, 2021 12:26 PM |
German Shepherds have so much energy. Major needs a young buddy to play with and drain him off all that energy.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 2, 2021 12:45 PM |
