What Ever Happened To Aunt Alice ?- 1969

Any fans of this fifty two year old movie starring Geraldine Page and Ruth Gordon? Filmed between October 1968 and January 1969 in Tucson, Arizona and released July 1969. I love the plot, the dialogue , the music, and Geraldine's cool 1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V. Here's a YouTube video by some brothers of the same type of car.

No, I don't like it.

Yes. It’s quite good. It also starred a dashing young Robert Fuller. I belong to a Robert Fuller Facebook fandom with a bunch of fraus who worship him like he’s Elvis, and they sometimes talk about it. Fuller himself once said during a Q&A at a convention I attended that Geraldine wasn’t the nicest person to work with.

Man, that's one ugly McMansion of a car

I enjoyed that film. Very macabre.

Robert Aldrich, master of the psycho-hag thriller. This is one of the best. Geraldine Page plays a really pretentious old bag, secretly broke and haughty, and a serial killer. It’s like a time machine of period cars and fashion. It’s really a lot of fun to watch. Ruth Gordon plays a sweet old lady disguised as a maid to investigate the murder of her companion, but ends up drowned in a ditch. Gordon’s character is very sweet and sympathetic, but in real life she was pretty gruff and dismissive, a tough broad. Page’s character was very harsh and vicious, but the actress herself was said to be daffy and sweet.

Not according to co-star Robert Fuller.

YouTube has the full movie available for download free of charge. I use Viddly YouTube Downloader to save as an MP4.

I love hagsploitation movies. Screen divas past their prime starring in (usually) shlocky horror.
