Can't link to CNN from DL again.

We haven't been able to link to CNN for nearly a year now, I think, but people are linking to places like Daily Caller all the time.

And yet linking to Fox and Breitbart is fine ...

CNN from other countries link fine. Perhaps Muriel is annoyed that half the time you open their site, expecting to read an article, it autoplays some annoying video instead.

I always assumed it was CNN that doesn't allow the link to DL, just as Britain's The Independent doesn't.

Just google the story title, there will be the same story from somewhere else then link from that. Easy

You can link to The Independent just fine, R5. It's DL that replaces any text you write with their own paragraph saying The Independent doesn't allow or want links from DL. That appeared YEARS ago and it doesn't even seem to be true.

It doesn't make any sense for DL to allow the link and then say the link isn't allowed. All DL does when an Independent link is posted is replace what the Datalounger wrote. It's weird.

R3 is correct, as demonstrated at R7. CNN World News links work fine. It's the US links that are no longer allowed. I haven't checked MSNBC nor Faux NeWs.

Independent sold all their articles to a copyright troll who attempted to "monetize" use of Independent OG tags and article quotes (which in the US is fair use.) The text replacement is in response to their huge extortion attempt. It made the copyright troll go away.

The cnn problem is because of a fossil markup snippet on the cnn side that makes it look like an iframe hijack attempt which is what porn spammers use to inject content onto message boards.
