Are there actually celebrities (actors, writers, producers, directors etc) that live drama-free lives?

I've always wondered this about Hollywood. It sounds like a cesspool of overblown egos and new money.

Surely there must be some balanced people who are professional and take their talent seriously?

by Anonymousreply 67September 12, 2021 11:55 AM

Probably a bunch of people from Broadway who don’t make it into the movies.

by Anonymousreply 1March 15, 2021 7:17 PM

Meryl. Never hear any drama about her personal life.

by Anonymousreply 2March 15, 2021 7:18 PM

Lisa Kudrow always seems stable and normal.

by Anonymousreply 3March 15, 2021 7:19 PM

Jodie Foster.

by Anonymousreply 4March 15, 2021 7:20 PM

Many. We just don’t hear about them.

by Anonymousreply 5March 15, 2021 7:23 PM

Chadwick Boseman was like that.

by Anonymousreply 6March 15, 2021 7:52 PM

This seems like a very short list.

by Anonymousreply 7March 15, 2021 7:54 PM

r2 Exactly!

by Anonymousreply 8March 15, 2021 7:54 PM

Paul Rudd

by Anonymousreply 9March 15, 2021 8:00 PM

Emily Blunt and John Strazkinski (how you spell it) seem drama-free and out of the spotlight.

by Anonymousreply 10March 15, 2021 8:16 PM

What R5 said.

by Anonymousreply 11March 15, 2021 8:23 PM

Armie Hammer

by Anonymousreply 12March 15, 2021 11:43 PM

Sissy Spacek, even at the height of her fame.

by Anonymousreply 13March 16, 2021 12:10 AM

I've never heard anything salacious about Kevin Bacon.

by Anonymousreply 14March 16, 2021 12:22 AM

R14, you’re clearly too many degrees separated from him.

by Anonymousreply 15March 16, 2021 12:28 AM

Yes, some celebrities work solely in other genres (action, horror, science fiction) and never do drama

by Anonymousreply 16March 16, 2021 12:31 AM

Chadwick Boseman might have had the most drama-free life: riddled with terminal cancer, keeping his career going, and almost no news of it.

by Anonymousreply 17March 16, 2021 12:32 AM

Meryl Streep

Jeff Bridges

by Anonymousreply 18March 16, 2021 12:33 AM

Mindy Cohn

by Anonymousreply 19March 16, 2021 12:33 AM

Matt Damon

Laura Dern

Cathy Bates

by Anonymousreply 20March 16, 2021 12:39 AM

[quote]Laura Dern

Didn't she steal Ben Harper from another woman?

Whore!

by Anonymousreply 21March 16, 2021 1:08 AM

[quote] Cathy Bates

Oh, dear.

by Anonymousreply 22March 16, 2021 1:47 AM

Rachel McAdams

SMG and Freddie

Keanu

by Anonymousreply 23March 16, 2021 11:20 AM

Ron Howard, maybe?

by Anonymousreply 24March 16, 2021 11:36 AM

Who, not that.

by Anonymousreply 25March 16, 2021 11:37 AM

Henry Winkler, definitely. Married 42 years; successful, well-adjusted kids, beloved by everyone who works with him. You will not find anyone in the biz with an unkind word to say about Henry Winkler.

by Anonymousreply 26March 16, 2021 11:43 AM

R26 and he hates Tom Hanks which makes him even better

by Anonymousreply 27March 16, 2021 11:52 AM

Jason Bateman - for the last 20 years or so post his partying days. Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel are among his actual friends but seems fairly drama free.

by Anonymousreply 28March 16, 2021 12:23 PM

Many former Broadway and soap actors. The majority lead normal lives and have had no major drama. Would you know these names, maybe, maybe not. I would like to believe they have had successful fulfilling lives with normal ups and downs.

by Anonymousreply 29March 16, 2021 12:58 PM

Priceless, R12. Thanks for the laugh.

by Anonymousreply 30March 16, 2021 1:56 PM

Connor Jessup & Miles Heizer

by Anonymousreply 31March 17, 2021 12:14 AM

Sally Field seems like a professional without drama.

by Anonymousreply 32April 5, 2021 9:22 AM

I would imagine that most public people are adept at keeping their personal business quiet and only put themselves out there when they have something to promote. Most drama surrounds a handful of individuals, like Affleck, and other people actively *seeking* drama like reality TV types and self-styled celebs.

by Anonymousreply 33April 5, 2021 9:52 AM

Jodie Foster seems down to earth.

by Anonymousreply 34April 5, 2021 10:00 AM

r10 Krasinski. Yeah, he seems drama-free.

by Anonymousreply 35April 5, 2021 10:06 AM

Michelle Pfeiffer and Julianne Moore seem well adjusted and drama free, though this is just an impression based on their IG and lack of knowledge that tells me otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 36April 5, 2021 10:55 AM

Henry Winkler hates Tom Hanks?

by Anonymousreply 37April 5, 2021 11:10 AM

Ms. Streep is hardly drama free. Many tales of her affairs with costars and/or her drama with costars who refused an affair. I seem to remember there being some local drama with her neighbors as well.

by Anonymousreply 38April 5, 2021 11:16 AM

Jodie has had her share of dramas.

Her brother writing a tell-all. Some nutter trying to kill Reagan to impress her, however these are not Jodie's fault or doing.

But I believe she stole her wife from Melanie Mayron dumping her long time girlfriend. And there are those Kelly McGilles/Witney Huston rumours - probably an urban myth but who nows.

And openly supporting Mel Gibson doesn't go down well with everyone.

by Anonymousreply 39April 5, 2021 11:17 AM

R32 You may not be old enough to remember the Burt Reynolds break-up. Not messy (like Loni Anderson) but not pretty either though it was more about Burt's ego than anything else to be fair to Sally.

by Anonymousreply 40April 5, 2021 11:18 AM

Some celebs are in long term relationships and live drama free

RuPaul & Georges LeBar

Emily Blunt & John Krasinski

Cindy Crawford & Rande Gerber

Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes

Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds

David & Victoria Beckham

Chrissy Teigen & John Legend

by Anonymousreply 41April 5, 2021 11:26 AM

Matt Bomer. Married for about a decade, three kids, nothing scandalous ever.

by Anonymousreply 42April 5, 2021 11:27 AM

Steve Buscemi. Just an all-around good guy.

Plus he was out there taking gay roles before most other mainstream actors.

[quote] former Broadway and soap actors.

Hard to call them celebrities. They are NY and LA famous, not actually famous.

by Anonymousreply 44April 5, 2021 12:33 PM

I agree with the pick of Steve Buscemi. Nice man. For top of the list, couples-wise, I nominate Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.

by Anonymousreply 45April 5, 2021 3:12 PM

Seems like the good ones are usually drama free. The ones who are always doing weird shit to get their names in the spotlight are the ones who give me pause.

The ones without drama end up being the ones who have the best careers and continue working up until old age. Betty White's a good example.

by Anonymousreply 46April 5, 2021 4:54 PM

[Quote] Cindy Crawford & Rande Gerber

That couple creeps me out. Just look at how fucked up their kids are.

[Quote] Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds

Well aside from the plantation wedding. Before that Blake had her nude scandal and affair with Batfleck.

Zack Snyder seems like the only drama-free director in Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 53May 25, 2021 7:24 AM

R53...uh-huh

by Anonymousreply 54May 25, 2021 7:27 AM

What do you know, R54? Spill!

by Anonymousreply 55May 25, 2021 7:29 AM

They're all self-centered loons. All of them.

by Anonymousreply 56May 25, 2021 7:34 AM

I want to know why Winkler hates Hanks.

by Anonymousreply 57May 25, 2021 7:41 AM

Cate Blanchett. I am not aware of any attention seeking activities or dramas in her private life. She lives only a few miles from me, in Crowborough.

by Anonymousreply 58May 25, 2021 7:52 AM

Ashton/ Kutcher/Mila Kunis

Natalie Portman and her husband

Keira Knightly

Hugh Grant

Nicole Kidman

by Anonymousreply 59May 25, 2021 10:42 AM

Steve Carell and wife Nancy have been married for 26 years with seemingly no drama.

by Anonymousreply 60May 25, 2021 11:57 AM

Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz

by Anonymousreply 61May 25, 2021 1:58 PM

Tom Hardy and his wife

Matthew McConaughey and his wife

by Anonymousreply 62May 25, 2021 1:59 PM

Helen Lawson

Joan Crawford while she was alive and then all those lies were about her by that ungrateful daughter.

by Anonymousreply 63May 25, 2021 2:02 PM

I think they have to not be A-list, with few exceptions. Off the top of my head, Dane DeHaan, Ethan Peck, and Anson Mount are drama-free but most people don't know who they are.

by Anonymousreply 64May 25, 2021 2:10 PM

Bump

by Anonymousreply 65June 6, 2021 1:28 PM

Hanks pitched a fit and got Winkler fired from directing Turner & Hooch, r57, for no good reason. Winkler has said there is no feud but Winkler isn't the kind of guy to say anything harsh about people publicly. The worst he's ever said about Hanks is that on Turner & Hooch he got along better with the dog than with Tom.

I just finished with season 2 of The Sinner on Netflix and I realized that Bill Pullman is one of those great actors that hardly ever features in celebrity news. According to Wikipedia he's been married to the same woman for a long time and has 3 kids.

I would count him as a professional actor without drama.
