Rose didn’t have any skills outside of farm and house work yet was a “grief counselor”, a consumer affairs tv show producer and applied for the hospital administrator position. Baffling huh?

The grief counselor was probably volunteer. It's like what Louise Jefferson was doing at "The Help Center" or other people do at suicide hotlines. You have to take a training class, but these types of places are always looking for volunteers.
I know after 9/11, the Salvation Army and many churches in NYC were using volunteers to assist people with counseling.
