At first when I saw the headline, I tried to picture Loni as Yentl.

It's hard to say WHO exactly dodged a bullet in this scenario...

In an interview with Andy Cohen, Loni said Burt left their son Quinton absolutely nothing when he died. In fact, Burt's estate was worth zero at the time.

I hope Loni was not surprised. Both she and Burt burned through all of Burt's money on stupid shit.

Burt was broke and in bankruptcy at the time of his passing.

He spent money like it was water. His huge mansion, a dinner theater that was pretty well known at one time.

It's a shame he never received the respect he deserved. He was a great actor and the Academy snubbed him several times.

I actually kind of like All Night Long. I like those weird LA tales. Babs isn't bad in it either. She fits into the ensemble well and doesn't draw too much attention to herself.

In retrospect, it is a much better movie than when received. Hackman gives a great performance. Mengers would have been much better in the long-run if she allowed the studio to go with their first choice, Lisa Eichorn.

Bea Arthur's revival of Funny Girl at the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater in Jupiter, FL was the reason for that. It cost a small fortune to produce and ended up losing millions.

Lisa Eichorn was replaced by Barbra after shooting began Gene Hackman was apparently not happy with Eichorn. I like All Night Long it's a low key comedy and though Streisand doesn't seem like the ideal casting she's good as is Hackman. Dennis Quaid and Diane Ladd are also in it as Hackman's son and wife. All Night Long is much better than most of Babs' films i.e. Nuts, On a Clear Day, The Way We Were, A Star is Born, The Main Event, Up the Sandbox and What's Up Doc? She's actually more relaxed and likable than usual in it. And yes I could see Andersson in the role but not Eichorn who I saw in Cutter's Way.

Loni dodged a bullet. All Night Long is Barbra's weakest film by a country mile. It's best forgotten, which I will do after I finish typing this message.

I do not remember anything about that movie or that it even existed. I think Loni should just be happy with her WKRP legacy. I caught her on a rerun of Barnaby Jones recently. She had dark hair, but otherwise played a dumb blond type character. She ended up being the key to cracking the case!

Stroker Ace > All Night Long

I came here to say exactly that, R19. But I'll admit I'd prefer to remember "All Night Night Long", and completely forget "The Owl And The Pussycat" (I prefer and adore "For Pete's Sake"), and ESPECIALLY "The Prince Of Tides".

On the other hand, Loni, take heart. You became a legend as a result of your masterful work on "WKRP in Cincinnati" for which Barbra was never even considered.

R18. Are you insane? No, "All Night Long" is not better. "The Way We Were" and "What's Up Doc?" are a couple of classic, landmark Streisand movies of their day that still hold up today. Good lord, you think "All Night Long" is better than "The Way We Were?" You couldn't be more wrong. Even the other movies you listed are all far better than "All Night Long."

All Night Long (which I saw at the theater) was not a big hit and was pulled out of the theaters after just a few weeks. Just about everybody connected with it, including Babs, was disappointed with it. The studio, producers, and money men considered it a bomb.

When Barbra hesitated at signing on, it was decided that Loni Anderson would take over the role of a more mature Fanny Brice. Barbra eventually relented. Barbra unexpectedly walked on set to sign her contract. The ink was barely dry on the page when Loni was fired on the spot.

Loni had her heart set on playing Minnie in "The Help".

She used to practice saying, "Shit pie" for days. Damn that Octavia Spencer!
