Digiorno Frozen Pizza

Am I the only one who loves them? I try not to buy them often because I can eat the whole thing in 1-2 seatings.

I ate one today for lunch, the big one, and within 2 hours ate the entire thing plus two leftover pieces of chicken and a Black Cherry soda can.

It was so fucking good. I’m so full though.

Their Supreme Pizza is my favorite

by Anonymousreply 52March 12, 2021 7:26 PM

They never cook right. The middle is always still raw dough.

by Anonymousreply 1March 11, 2021 6:08 PM

Red Barron is good too.

by Anonymousreply 2March 11, 2021 6:09 PM

R1 try the thin crust. They cook up nicely.

by Anonymousreply 3March 11, 2021 6:12 PM

I love them. They are better than Tony's or Red Baron.

by Anonymousreply 4March 11, 2021 6:14 PM

You ate a can?

by Anonymousreply 5March 11, 2021 6:37 PM

R5 beat me to it.

And no, OP, you’re not alone. I think those things are great.

by Anonymousreply 6March 11, 2021 6:40 PM

You. are not alone. During first 6 months of quarantine it became a staple! You can your own toppings to them too.

[quote]They never cook right. The middle is always still raw dough.

Cook them for longer than it says on the package... e.g. 22. mins minimum and then turn off the oven and let it sit in there another 5 mins. The top can be a little burnt but it's good that way.

by Anonymousreply 7March 11, 2021 7:13 PM

They have shrunk. My aunt loved the Pizzeria Style four cheese. She baked one every Friday for years and had the leftover Saturday. I would do her shopping and you couldn't get one in the store plastic bag. Thru the years they have gotten smaller and smaller and now you can fit two into the bag.

by Anonymousreply 8March 11, 2021 7:23 PM

Freschetta is much, much betta! And partly because of what someone else stated - DiGiorno does NOT cook right and when you cook them longer, the toppings are burnt. Freschetta turns out heaps better.

by Anonymousreply 9March 11, 2021 7:36 PM

Their rising crust pizza can be difficult to cook all the way through without burning the top, but the hand-tossed and thin crust are among the best frozen pizzas. I think they are legitimately good, as opposed to "good, considering it's frozen."

Most of the pizzerias near my house either aren't very good or are way overpriced (or both), so I've tried many frozen pizzas and DiGiorno and Screamin' Sicilian are solid products.

by Anonymousreply 10March 11, 2021 7:41 PM

the pepperoni on them tastes weird to me. i like the stuffed crust but i dont buy them much

by Anonymousreply 11March 11, 2021 7:51 PM

Only The Poors eat frozen pizza.

by Anonymousreply 12March 11, 2021 7:53 PM

R12 no.

by Anonymousreply 13March 11, 2021 8:42 PM

Fatty and carcinogenic and fattards still don't know where all their health conditions and diseases come from! Give me a fucking break.

by Anonymousreply 14March 11, 2021 9:02 PM

the Supreme Self Rising is really good, I heat it on my pizza stone.

by Anonymousreply 15March 11, 2021 9:05 PM

Really enjoy the croissant crust. yum..

by Anonymousreply 16March 11, 2021 9:07 PM

I’ve gained 40 pounds in the last year.

I love Pizza, but can’t have it anymore in the house. I eat the whole thing in one sitting

by Anonymousreply 17March 11, 2021 9:09 PM

R15 thats the one I had. It’s delicious

by Anonymousreply 18March 11, 2021 11:03 PM

Love DiGiorno & Freschetta thin crust pizzas. Especially the 4 Meat one.

I have Red Baron in the freezer but never tried them yet. Kroger had a sale.

I finally tried a Mama Celeste mini microwave one a few months back...disgusting!

by Anonymousreply 19March 11, 2021 11:12 PM

Oh, yeah, those Mama Celeste’s are bad news.

by Anonymousreply 20March 11, 2021 11:14 PM

Screamin Sicilian Mambo Italiano is also really good.

by Anonymousreply 21March 11, 2021 11:14 PM

Mama Celeste is disgusting. I had it once because they were on sale for $1!!! And it was terrible. Never again. Not even for just $1.

Red Baron is really good too. Their four cheese pizza is delicious.

I don’t like California Kitchen

by Anonymousreply 22March 11, 2021 11:16 PM

When I was younger I loved Ellio’s but they are smaller now than they used to be and they don’t taste the same. They changed something.

by Anonymousreply 23March 11, 2021 11:17 PM

[quote] Screamin Sicilian Mambo Italiano is also really good.

I don’t know. I was screaming it all night and it only pissed off my neighbors.

by Anonymousreply 24March 12, 2021 11:51 AM

Mama Cozzi's pizza at Aldi is great. It's refrigerated - not frozen. But it's much closer to pizzeria pizza than any other store-bought brand.

by Anonymousreply 25March 12, 2021 12:04 PM

Agree Mama Celeste is the worst. I think I could draw a pizza that would taste better.

Red Baron Deep Dish singles are delicious.

by Anonymousreply 26March 12, 2021 12:53 PM

R17- You're able to finish a WHOLE pizza because you are a FAT WHORE.

by Anonymousreply 27March 12, 2021 12:55 PM

Digiorno is a Fat Whore favorite. Three meat Rising Crust makes Mama's mussy moist.

Take that as you will.

by Anonymousreply 28March 12, 2021 12:56 PM

Major DiGiorno fan, especially the Thin Crust.

But lately, have been enjoying Newman's Own Four Cheese Pizza.

by Anonymousreply 29March 12, 2021 1:02 PM

I had their new Crispy Pan version recently and really liked it. At least as good as a Papa John's.

by Anonymousreply 30March 12, 2021 1:02 PM

Whole Foods Italian Cheeseboard pizza with fig sauce is VERY good.

by Anonymousreply 31March 12, 2021 1:03 PM

Baking your pizza on a pizza stone will help deal with raw centers. And it'll give you a much crispier crust.

by Anonymousreply 32March 12, 2021 1:09 PM

ANYONE who is commenting on this thread about frozen pizza is a FAT WHORE - including me.

by Anonymousreply 33March 12, 2021 1:12 PM

They used to make a flavor called spicy chicken supreme that was my absolute favorite, hands down. It disappeared around the start of the pandemic and my grocer says it can’t be ordered. Disappointed!

by Anonymousreply 34March 12, 2021 1:35 PM

Newman's Own supreme thin crust is good too, R29.

by Anonymousreply 35March 12, 2021 1:37 PM

Totino's thin crust combination is very good and it's small enough that I don't feel like a pig when I eat the whole thing.

I like Red Baron thin crust, especially the Mexican style.

I can't find any brand that makes thin crust BBQ chicken anymore. It must have fallen out of favor in my part of the world...probably wasn't considered 'pizza'.

by Anonymousreply 36March 12, 2021 1:38 PM

Newman's Own and Jack's are my favorite, California Pizza Kitchen are okay, and the bf likes Digiorno thin supreme. My personal favorite is either single-topping hamburger or sausage but that's almost impossible to find in any brand.

Kroger used to have Private Selection pizzas which were very good, but I tried some of the new flavors recently and they're greasy.

by Anonymousreply 37March 12, 2021 1:41 PM

Take-and-bake are better!

by Anonymousreply 38March 12, 2021 2:23 PM

[quote] I tried some of the new flavors recently and they're greasy.

If you didn’t pronounce this greezzy you’re doing it wrong.

by Anonymousreply 39March 12, 2021 2:26 PM

[quote] Take-and-bake are better!

I did that once.

I got arrested for shoplifting.

by Anonymousreply 40March 12, 2021 2:26 PM

I haven't had Digiorno pizza in decades, but I remember it being one of the better brands of frozen pizza along with Totino's pizza.

Tombstone pizza, on the other hand...

by Anonymousreply 41March 12, 2021 2:27 PM

I had a Tombstone pizza a few weeks ago and was surprised that the sauce tasted so good. The rest was meh.

by Anonymousreply 42March 12, 2021 2:29 PM

Never had Tombstone.

by Anonymousreply 43March 12, 2021 2:44 PM

Best frozen pizza on the market. As an aside, if you like to make your own, Rao’s makes a delicious pizza sauce.

by Anonymousreply 44March 12, 2021 3:22 PM

I do like them, yes, OP. I’ll have to get one. I bought a steering wheel food tray and I’ll bet it’ll fit perfectly on my tray.

by Anonymousreply 45March 12, 2021 3:30 PM

Are those croissant crust pizzas any good?

DiGiorno pizzas seem a little bit too garlicky, or something of that nature. They gave my ex violent farting spells. The crust isn't particularly good, nor is the cheese.

I much prefer the margherita pizza by Amy's Kitchen if I want freezer pizza. It's not cheap, being that Amy's Kitchen usually uses high-quality ingredients in their food products... almost everything I've tried of theirs is fire.

by Anonymousreply 47March 12, 2021 4:20 PM

R47 I know a woman who is always buying Amy’s frozen foods.

by Anonymousreply 48March 12, 2021 5:09 PM

During lockdown I learned about American Flatbread frozen pizza from DL. The Revolution variety is the best. Need to let the pizza thaw for 15-20 minutes before baking but well worth the extra time investment.

Trader Joe’s parlance with carmelized onion pepperoni and sausage and peppers rocks for 5$ cook on pizza pizzazz

by Anonymousreply 50March 12, 2021 5:56 PM

^ Parlano

by Anonymousreply 51March 12, 2021 5:56 PM

R48, I've had better burritos than the kind made by Amy's, but other than that, you can't go wrong. Their cheese enchiladas with red sauce are much, much better than what's available in restaurants.

I'm not a shill, I swear.
