You love it!
Stacey Abrams is on the cover of Marie Claire.

That is a great cover! Will she run for president some day?

Love that photo! How can we put her in charge of voter registration for the Democratic Party? Anyone know of she’s still continuing in her old role in Georgia?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 9, 2021 2:28 PM |
2024.

Ms. Lindsey has no man and she’s done quite well for herself, R4.

She appears to more likely be a candidate for the early onset of diabetes.

Tacky outfit, unflattering angle.

Completely unsuitable to hold political office. Georgia voters realized this and chose otherwise.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 9, 2021 3:37 PM |
R8, I don't think her outfit is tacky. Designers are trying to make capes into a thing. She looks dignified. I really like her, I think she seems like a (smart) normal person. I do find the gap in her teeth distracting but I'm getting used to it.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 9, 2021 3:50 PM |
R14, how’s life at Mar a Lardo? Sad? Awww, fuck off.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 9, 2021 3:54 PM |
Her influence in Georgia made her a surprise hero in the 2020 election. She shouldn't let that go to her head though. That doesn't mean she should stay in the background, but having had a negative image prior to that, she can triumph over that if she takes cautious steps and doesn't let her ego run away. She could definitely win public office in the future, but she shouldn't rush for the top, not just yet. I've come to like her, but I don't fully trust her. It's just too soon.

r17 could you try any harder to marginalize what was thought of as an impossible feat, turning a red state in the deep south blue? While you are wasting time thinking about whether she is trustworthy, she is out busy changing the world. Stacey Abrams does not need the confines of public office to accomplish her goals. She has maximum freedom of movement by NOT being tied down by titles. She is the new age of Democratic politics, and what you call the background will soon be the foreground. The establishment of the DNC refuses to evolve with times, so they cannot accomplish new things like she is doing.

Will it be a QUADRUPLE PAGE spread?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 9, 2021 5:26 PM |
Boss lady. She did the hard work to turn Georgia blue.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 9, 2021 5:29 PM |
Fucking GA white trash trying to reverse what she did. This is why when that tubby shit Gabriel Sterling was getting praise, I was saying I couldn't have given a shit that the GA Reps were getting death threats, They only gave a shit when they were the target. They were fine with that Orange fat Nazi president up until he came for them and now they're trying to put in laws because rather than fix their own fucking ideology and platform, they'd rather suppress people's right to vote.
White Republicans are fascists who do not believe in democracy. Their "patriotism" is horseshit and I hope she can fight again.

I like her a lot. She's smart, well educated, articulate. My biggest concern is her lack of a resume. 10 years as a Georgia legislator doesn't get you far. She needs to run for and win a statewide office to give her some serious credibility. I hope that happens.

Stacey ran for Governor of Georgia.
And LOST.
She's the female version of Beto O'Rourke.
All hype. No substance.

R23, there were discrepancies and everyone knows it. When your opponent has control over the election itself, that's a problem. She only lost by around 54K votes and her loss is questionable.

READ, R23:
Irregularities in voter registration occurred prior to the day of the election: over 300,000 people were wrongly flagged by the state as being ineligible to vote,[231] and 53,000 voter registrations were delayed by Kemp's office without adequately notifying the applicants.[232] These irregularities, which disproportionately affected black voters, resulted in allegations that Kemp was using voter suppression to increase his chances of winning the contest.[232] Georgia election officials responded to these allegations by stating that any voter flagged for irregularities could still vote, receiving a regular ballot (not a provisional ballot), by providing ID at a valid polling place, as is required of all voters by state law.[233] Concerning the question of why the pending registration status mattered if those voters could vote normally at the polls, critics claimed that learning of this status might discourage those voters from turning out to the polls at all.[234]

She is not running for public office. She doesn't need approval from constituents or credibility from winning an election to do the work she does now.
If Stacey Abrams was a Republican they wouldn't give a shit about her public service or winning an election, she would be getting millions upon millions of dollars from private interests to continue pushing her winning formula. That's the mindset and approach that Democrats don't understand.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 9, 2021 5:54 PM |
Like Beto, she did more for her state as a losing candidate than the shit hooks who won.
That’s class.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 9, 2021 5:54 PM |
R23 is also a flat Earther. Seriously... you could not be more clueless.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 9, 2021 7:02 PM |
Big fan, I think she's amazing!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 9, 2021 7:21 PM |
She needs to be on the cover of Cooking Light.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 9, 2021 7:25 PM |
All you naysayers about her losing the election neglect the details. She ran against Brian Kemp who was Secretary of State at the time (ie., in charge of the voting) who did his best to disenfranchise voters. If it was a fair election, she would be the Governor today.
