I mean imagine you're transitioning and you're a comic book fan and the new trailer for the X-Men comes out and all it's reminding you off is your dead life! They should be called the Trans-Mutants, they transitioned from humans to mutants.
I wonder if X-Men plays a role in this transgender phenomenon. Young people believing they’re comic book characters.

Well no, according to the comic book backstory, the Mutants are a different species than regular humans - homo superior. They are somehow born a different species, even if they have homo sapiens parents (that part was never explained), and think they're humans until the powers manifest during adolescence.
Yes, I'm embarassed to know that.
