The Star-Spangled Banner is a notoriously difficult song to sing. It spans so many octaves it is hard if not impossible for most individuals to reach all the notes, not to mention staying in key A Capella. Not to mention the subject matter, though significant due to it's historical reference, truly ignores many of the basic principles, that most *Patriots* love to brag about: Liberty, Democracy, Freedom, etc.

America the Beautiful, would have been a much better choice as an Anthem: not only is it more accessible to the average person in ease of being sung, it's generally speaking, truly a more pleasant melody with at least equally *symbolically* relatable terms.

Her name is Sailor Sabol (I'm not making this up) and she's a University of Central Florida freshman and, of course, a member of the school's College Republican group. And the President of the Florence Foster Jenkins Club.

From the perspective of a professional musician, I can say that that was unequivocally abysmal. But the creative ways that she's being trolled online by musicians are priceless and actually increase my respect for my colleagues. Linking a truly amazing harmonization below that tries to make harmonic sense of the bizarre twists and turns that she took in singing the anthem. And almost -ALMOST- make them seem deliberate artistic choices instead of the result of a tone deaf singer that has been misled her entire life into thinking that she can sing.

Sailor is not just a mediocre singer, she is a low IQ deplorable.

She ranted about Disney getting rid of the racist "Songs of the South" characters on the ride Splash Mountain:

Every one of my deeply conservative, Catholic, Republican in-laws fancies him- or herself a singer, volunteering at Mass, weddings, etc. None of 'em could carry a tune in a bucket. I won firsts for solos throughout high school, yet I say nothingI blame the Church myself. such egregious oversights don't seem to happen amongst Protestants; hell, they'll go out and hire a singer. That woman must've shifted keys seven or eight times.

...and people who write "her parents ruined her" are actually right on. It's genetic so they probably couldn't tell she went off key like a drunk trying to stay on the sidewalk. No one ever criticized her, and she never was taught to listen to herself. Altho in her case it wouldn't do much good. She can tell music goes up and down and that's it.
