Meanwhile I pay more than double that for my tiny apartment đ˘
Rents really shouldnât be as high as they are in major cities. Itâs ridiculous.
That apartment is gorgeous.

Welcome to the principle of supply and demand. Housing is more expensive in popular areas and cheap in unpopular ones.

Remember to boil the water.

One more person who doesn't know what "literal" means, unless he's three inches tall and can live in a literal shoebox.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 28, 2021 2:06 PM |
Prefab housing complex shit. Overpriced.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 28, 2021 2:08 PM |
âLiteralâ means for all intensive purposes, doesnât it?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 28, 2021 2:11 PM |
Is this a test R5?

Having to walk through the bathroom to get to the clothes closet is a no sale for me.
Obviously Mike Brady was not the architect.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 28, 2021 2:19 PM |
Plus the neighbors play their music too loudly.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 28, 2021 2:19 PM |
Matt Bomer and Lee Pace graduated from high school at the same school there. But -
Houston.
Texas.
No.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 28, 2021 2:28 PM |
I would rather live in the nicer parts of Houston, where you would probably be working, or rent a little farther north, in The Woodlands , where you could walk and shop, and ride a bus to work.
I think Jim Parsons is from Spring, TX.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 28, 2021 2:30 PM |
TRUST ME! You would never want to live in Spring. Itâs red-neck, bigot, âKarenâ on every block hellhole. Although there is one gay bar there, so thereâs that. Houston neighborhoods you would like are Montrose, The Heights, or Midtown. Unfortunately youâll have to double or triple that rent amount, but itâs worth it.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 28, 2021 2:33 PM |
Not sure I'd go for "beautiful" or "gorgeous" OP, but it's certainly newer and clean.
That said, you're living in suburban Houston
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 28, 2021 2:38 PM |
Was that a wee deck or terrace that was skimmed past? I want to see that too. And the view from it (probably parking lot and dumpsters and two withered saplings).
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 28, 2021 3:09 PM |
I would rather live in a state that was not a third world country for electric supply.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 28, 2021 3:12 PM |
I wonder if TX will ever fix the electricity problem
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 28, 2021 3:21 PM |
[quote]Although there is one gay bar there, so thereâs that.
And I'll bet they play BOTH kinds of music-- country AND western!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 28, 2021 3:28 PM |
You can get a 1,300 sf apt in NYC area (NJ) for the same price.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 28, 2021 3:35 PM |
Oh dear r17. Read your listing again.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 28, 2021 3:41 PM |
Even in low rent Phoenix I am horrified what people are paying for rents. My mortgage is less than 500 a month and i will own the place one day.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 28, 2021 3:50 PM |
R19 itâs scary. And Iâm tired of the excuse of it being due to high demand. Enough.
And if youâre a native of that city you shouldnât have to pay what transplants pay. Period.

And natives should get free ice cream and half-price movies
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 28, 2021 4:57 PM |
R21 no. But they shouldnât have their rents tripled because whitey from Ohio suddenly wants to move here.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 28, 2021 4:59 PM |
You have your âfree stuffâ list, and I have mine.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 28, 2021 5:11 PM |
the floor looks like it gives off toxic gas. This apartment is ugly and who wants to cook in their living room?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 28, 2021 5:17 PM |
Are you âChris Evans Stanâ OP?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 28, 2021 5:17 PM |
I'd rather live in Pasadena than Spring-- and Pasadena is an actual shithole.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 28, 2021 5:19 PM |
R24 most of these new apartments have the kitchen connected to the living room
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 28, 2021 5:22 PM |
What about The Room lounge?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 28, 2021 5:25 PM |
R27 that may be so at this price point but it does not make this functional, clean, utilitarian apartment beautiful.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 28, 2021 5:25 PM |
I looked on Hotpads - there are lot of very nice 1 bedrooms in Spring, TX for around $1000 - many much nicer than this.
Actually, Houston rentals are extremely CHEAP for a large city - even in nice areas like River Oaks.
But, it's Houston. Glad to know there is some affordable housing left in some large cities.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 28, 2021 5:27 PM |
Houston is actually great. Have you been there in recent years? Itâs nice and feels liberal compared to a lot of the rest of TX.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 28, 2021 5:36 PM |
R32 - I can't reconcile living in a small blue bubble among a state of deplorables and politicians who would just assume kill me than have me as a fellow citizen.
Besides - nasty humidity, heat, hurricanes, flooding, ugly strip malls, lack of housing codes - plus citizens who think Texas should be praised as the highest form of civilization ever produced.
I can't stand the obnoxious and uninformed state pride Texans have.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 28, 2021 6:10 PM |
48% of TX voted Blue. The state isnât as deep red as some of you claim.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 28, 2021 6:14 PM |
I've never been to Houston, but a friend of mine was travelling there regularly for business before COVID and he has been raving about it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 28, 2021 6:15 PM |
A.) It is hideous
B.) It is in Spring, TX
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 28, 2021 6:42 PM |
LOL. I grew up in Spring, Texas. It's a shitty, fucking, miserable place. It's Dan Crenshaw cuntry. It's about an hour or more, in traffic, from Houston. In the 80's, there was one gay bar but I have no idea if there's one now.
I went to college with Jim. I knew their high school drama teacher Rick Garcia. Bomer, Pace and Parsons went to school on the nicer side of the I-45, in Klein (or Klein Woods) which wasn't far from the misery of Spring.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 28, 2021 8:31 PM |
Wasnât that years ago r37?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 28, 2021 9:02 PM |
I go there three times a year to visit family (well, not this year) and, if anything, it has gotten worse in many areas.
If you want to commute to live in an inexpensive area outside of Houston? Sure, go for it. But, the stretch of I-45 you have to travel down is a dystopian horror. Billboards, billboards, deserted car dealerships, apt. buildings with aluminum foil covering the windows...
There are quaint little shops in Old Town Spring but, no, nothing else to see beyond that.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 28, 2021 9:11 PM |
Houston has gotten better. Itâs actually been great.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 28, 2021 9:15 PM |
Here is a different one but similar in Forth Worth
